There’s no doubt that the 2025 Festival Rozvadov will go down in the poker history books. This may sound like a crazy claim, considering the event is currently on its fourth day. But there’s evidence to take this stance. The first weekend was all about the €150 Hendon Mob Championship (THMC).

The fuss about this tournament was indeed tangible; a €150 buy-in tournament with a €300,000 guarantee? Could that really be done? No doubt, it was an ambitious idea by Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk (founder of The Festival), Roland Boothby (Head of Partnership at The Hendon Mob), and King’s Resort. In the end, though, it was nothing less than a slam-dunk success, and the lucky winner walked away with €51,850, The Festival winner’s portrait, the coveted THMC trophy, a €550 Main Event ticket, and a €1,500 Cape Town Millions package.

    Records Shattered

As previously summarized by poker.pro, the tournament had eight starting flights in total, two of them being remote flights at King’s Casino, Prague. Overall, 2,417 entries were made in the tournament, which created a €304,542 prize pool. Such, the abnormally large guarantee (in relation to the buy-in) was surpassed.

In addition to reaching the guarantee, the tournament also became the biggest THMC event ever played in Europe when it surpassed 888 entries (which was the previous record, set during the 2025 Irish Poker Open). Some hours later, it also became the biggest worldwide when the tournament passed 1,605 entries (set during the 2023 RUNGOOD Poker Series at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort, Lincoln).

Each starting flight was played down to 12,5 % of the field. These lucky competitors were all guaranteed a €300 min-cash and bagged their chips for Day 2 (the final day), which was played June 8.

    The Later Stage

In total, 296 players took their seats Day 2. There was a lot to fight for: top dollar, unique trophies, eternal poker glory, and sought live poker packages. Needless to say, the atmosphere was electryfying and the vibe was buzzing.

When the first break was reached roughly two hours into the tournament, more than half the field had been eliminated. Only 141 players remained, and the number of entries was still being reduced at a rapid rate.

    Renata Onodyova. Photo: Mairo Toom
    Renata Onodyova. Photo: Mairo Toom

Play continued, and when 66 players remained, two players had over five million in chips. Haik Tougu led the field with 5,800,000, and right behind him was Renata Onodyova. Onodyova was one of the few ladies still in the tournament, and at this point, she had great presumtions for a deep run; in fact, there’s never been a female winner of a THMC event earlier (Charlie Waters came close during the 2025 Irish Poker Open as she finished as the runner-up).

Undoubtedly, there was a lot of exciting and entertaining poker during this Sunday in Rozvadov. Tommaso Liberio won the biggest pot of the tournament (at that given point) when he took down a huge amount of chips with a bet on the flop. This secured him the chip lead at the next break, and soon enough, the tournament would be down to two tables.

    Philipp Klok. Photo: Mairo Toom
    Philipp Klok. Photo: Mairo Toom

The number of entries quickly went down from 18 to nine. There were some unbelievable hands at this stage in the tournament, for example, when Timo Trems and his pocket kings eliminated Tiago Martins, who had a pair of aces in his hand. One by one they fell, and when the nine remaining warriors were about to begin the final table around half past two in the morning, Philipp Klok was the chip leader.

    The Last Dance

At the start of the final table, the tournament had already been going for nine hours. The Hendon Mob’s Roland Boothby congratulated all the remaining players on a great achievement, gave them THM sunglasses and patches, and reminded them that there was an added €1,500 Cape Town Millions package added up top for the winner. Then, Boothby and the poker.pro live coverage team called it a night, as the final table was live streamed on King’s Resort’s YouTube channel.

The first one to go out from the final table was Luca Venece. Seated in the Small Blind, he only had half of a Big Blind. He got it all in with 75 against the pocket tens of Philipp Klok, and wasn’t able to produce a miracle.

Next one to bid farewell was the player referred to as “Sino”. UTG, he moved all in for seven Big Blinds holding KQ. Unfortunately for him, Adrianus Van Dongen woke up with pocket aces and eliminated the Italian. Shortly thereafter, Haik Tougu and Lukas Rath clashed all in. A flip situation saw Tougu taking down the pot, and doing so, he sent Rath to the rail in seventh place.

Adrianus Van Dongen. Photo: Mairo Toom
Adrianus Van Dongen. Photo: Mairo Toom

At this point, most players were super short, and Daniele Barbera was even forced all in from the Big Blind with J10. Four ways to the flop, the hand was checked down, and Barbera fell to the trip eights of Klok. Five players were left at this point, and then Van Dongen got involved in a hand against Tougu. Throughout Day 2, Van Dongen had been seen high up at the chip counts all day, but a rivered flush came up short against the full house of Tougu.

Even though getting it in as a favorite, the pocket nines of “Max Value” was cracked against the A9 holdings of Klok, as the board ran out J85Q6. Three players left, then, and “Doofy Downswinger” was the shortest of the pack. Even though climbing and holding on for a while, he eventually was eliminated as his pocket fives came up short against Tougu who flopped a pair of Kings.

    Haik Tougu. Photo: Mairo Toom

The stage was set for a heads-up battle between Klok and Tougu. The one-on-one finale would last 11 hands, before all the chips would go in the middle. Klok was the player at risk holding 109, and he was up against the Q2 of Tougu. The board ran out K3A54, and that settled it. Not only did Tougu claim the €51,300 first-place payout and the coveted The Hendon Mob trophy, but he also won the Cape Town Millions package, valued at roughly €1,500.

    Tiago Martins: AA
    Timo Trems: KK

What a cooler. Things would get even more nasty, though – at least for Martins. A king made its appearance on the 2KQ84. The pot belonged to Trems, and Martins was down to 900,000.

In the very next hand, Martins went all in UTG for his remaining three Big Blinds. Once again, Trems made the call.

Prometheus 13 wins The Festival Series Rozvadov Cash Game Challenge Session #2

The second Cash Game Challenge session on Sunday witnessed tons of action in €1/€2 NLHE. This might be hard to believe, but “Prometheus 13” stole the fire of the show by running his €1,000 starting stack into a massive chip stack of €3,241 for a profit of €2,241 or 1,120.5 big blinds.

While this padded the pockets of “Prometheus 13” far more than the earlier winner in Thomas Winkler, who won €394 or 197 big blinds in the early €1/€2 NLHE session, both players will move onto Sunday’s flip final where one of the eight champions throughout the week will win a package to The Festival Series Malta on Sept. 15-21 at Portomaso Casino.

Tomorrow will feature two more Cash Game Challenges, however, this time they will be live streamed at both the Kings Resort and The Festival Series YouTube channels.

Meanwhile, stay tuned throughout the night with still three tables remaining in The Hendon Mob Championship with a whopping €51,300 awaiting tonight’s winner. Follow along the action from the eyes and ears of poker.pro live reporter Christoffer Karlen until a winner is crowned.

The river was the 5. Now, Liberio led out for 500,000. Van Dongen was visibly unfolded, and eventually, he made the fold. Perhaps he gave Libero credit for a diamond flush?

    Tommaso Liberio: 3,330,000
    Adrianus van Dongen: 2,800,000

The board read Q6Q94 with roughly 820,000 in the middle, when Thore Kunze bet 325,000. Then, Lennart Janssen raised his opponent all in for 960,000 in total. Kunze was visibly agonized, but eventually, he made the call.

    Lennart Janssen: J10
    Thore Kunze: KK

Janssen had made an attempt to turn his missed straight draw into a bluff, and by the looks of it, it nearly worked. Victory belonged to Kunze, though, who received a full double-up with his kings.

    Thore Kunze: 2,600,000
    Lennart Janssen: 1,200,000

Thomas Winkler (The Festival Series Cash Game Challenge Session #1 Winner)

The final hand of the first session of the Cash Game Challenge, featuring the lowest stakes in town at €1/€2 NLHE, was announced and all of a sudden the action got wild with a full table of straddles all the way up to €25.

Marcel Stendel was in the lead before the hand and ended the session ahead €250 on his €1,000 buy-in. His 125 big blinds in profit wasn’t enough as Thomas Winkler managed on the last hand to bring his stack up to €1,694 for a profit of €394 (197 big blinds) when taking into account his €1,300 in buy-ins.

Players are on break before a second €1/€2 NLHE Cash Game Challenge Session begins at 10:30 p.m.

  • 13 Cash Game Tables in Action!

The Festival Series Cash Games at Kings Resort
The Festival Series Cash Games at Kings Resort

We just took a stroll around the cash game area. And despite it being Sunday evening, the action is hopping with 13 tables running including 10 NLHE tables with stakes at €1/€2 NLHE (including the Cash Game Challenge table) and €2/€4 NLHE alongside three PLO tables, which includes the €2/€2 PLO and two €5/€5 PLO5 tables.

While many eyes are on the record-breaking The Hendon Mob Championship which is down to just 66 hopefuls, others are battling in the €250 Mystery Bounty, which already has 63 entries on Day 1a with late registration open for four more blind levels.

Meanwhile, the €125 Half n’ Half, which features a round of each of PLO and NLHE just kicked off with already 100 runners.

This is just the start with the hundreds of qualifiers arriving on Monday and Tuesday.

    Level 22:30,000/60,000 (60,000)
    Entries:68/296
    Prizes:€304,542

The poker.pro live coverage team took a quick sweep over the tournament area. By the looks of it, Renata Onodyova seems to be the current chip leader with 5,000,000 in chips. According to The Hendon Mob, the Czech has been cashing steadily on home soil ever since 2015.

Even though there’s a lot of poker still to be played, Onodyova has earned herself great presumptions for a deep run.

  • Local Action Kicks Off the Cash Game Challenge

The Festival Series Rozvadov Cash Game Challenge Session #1

The Cash Game Challenge has kicked off with a bang with an action-packed €1/€2 NLHE two-hour session.

All the players are ready for business. The minimum buy-in was 100 big blinds or €200 but not a single player at the table opted for the minimum.

“Prometheus 13”, Thomas Winkler and Marcel Stendel opted to buy-in for €1,000 with “Majlo” (€600), Marcel Krueger (€500), “Ciprian” (€382), “Leonhard” (€300) all bought in for less.

Krueger and “Leonhard” were in for early reloads, so expect a big score from today’s biggest winner.

As a reminder, the biggest winners in terms of profit of each of the eight Cash Game Challenges, will eventually face off whether in attendance or not for a one-hand flip. The winner of the flip will be crowned the 2025 The Festival Series Rozvadov Cash Game Challenge champion and be awarded with a package to The Festival Series Malta at Portomaso Casino on September 8-15.

    Stefan Gvozdenovic: AJ

    Adrianus van Dongen: A6

    Igor Salomasov: 63
    Suren Saiian: KJ

Sneaky move by Salomasov, but this time, it didn’t work. He was alive, however, but wasn’t able to connect on the 2101059 board.

    Suren Saiian: 917,000
    Igor Salomasov: 0

In a very confident manner, Franke continued for 52,000 on the 795 flop. Brendel called quickly, and the A fell on the turn. Franke now fired 55,000, and Brendel folded.

“The ace was a scare card for both of us,” Franke chuckled as he stacked his newly-won chips.

June 7 was far from an ordinary Saturday in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. The 2025 Festival Rozvadov is in full flare, and already on the second day of the event, new records were broken, and new chapters in the poker history books were written. The cherry on top of an action-packed day was the €150 Hendon Mob Championship (THMC), which became the largest-ever tournament of its kind with the fourth starting flight.

    Largest THMC Event Ever

The 2025 Festival Rozvadov kicked off June 6 at King’s Resort, and will go on until June 16. The main attraction of the first weekend has been – and still is – the €150 THMC.

There’s really no wonder why THMC events always attract large number of players; when cashing in the events, players get an unique The Hendon Mob icon on their profile on the world’s largest live poker database, which seems to be very sought by all players.

The collaboration between The Festival and The Hendon Mob dates back to 2022, when their first joint event took place in Bratislava. For the current tournament in Rozvadov, Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk (founder of The Festival) approached Head of Partnerships at The Hendon Mob, Roland Boothby, with a creative suggestion – lower the buy-in from €250 to €150, and amp the guarantee up to €300,000.

The idea became reality, and prior to the tournament kicking off, The Festival and The Hendon Mob had one vision in mind, and that was for this to be the biggest THMC event of all time.

On the first day of The 2025 Festival Rozvadov, things kicked off great with Day 1a and 1b – 540 entries combined was a very good number to start with. Add to this the 167 entries from the two remote flights at King’s Casino, Prague, and the tournament had already reached 707 entries after the first day.

Then came yesterday, June 7. Day 1c commenced at 11:00 local time, and registration closed with 501 entries. The total number was at this stage 1,208, which meant the previous European record for largest THMC Event (888 entries, set during the 2025 Irish Poker Open) had now been surpassed.

Play continued and more and more players registered for Day 1d, while Day 1c was on its last level of the day. When the 1c players reached the hand for hand-stage of the tournament, the dealers stopped dealing, and Franke grabbed the microphone in the tournament area.

“You are now part of history,” Franke began his speech. “This is now the biggest THMC tournament ever. There are a few people who make this possible. Of course, you players and dealers, my crew, and Roland and Hans from The Hendon Mob, but also the King’s Resort, which delivers these insane numbers. A large applause for Federico and his whole team!”

As more than 1,605 entries had now been made, the previous world record for the biggest THMC event (set during the 2023 RUNGOOD Poker Series at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort, Lincoln) had now been shattered.

This has now become a live poker tournament for the ages; The Festival and The Hendon Mob can both be very satisfied with what they’ve accomplished this weekend.

Abdulaziz Al-Dosari limped the 12,000 UTG. When action came to Van Nguyen in the Cut-off, he raised to 28,000. Al-Dosari was the sole caller.

Al-Dosari check-called a 22,000 bet from Nguyen on the K7K flop. Both players then proceeded to check the 10 turn. On the Q river, Al-Dosari bet 30,000, and Nguyen quickly called.

    Abdulaziz Al-Dosari: AA
    Van Nguyen: JJ

Presumably, Al-Dosari could’ve gotten paid more had he been more aggressive pre-flop. Nevertheless, he took down a decent pot at this very crucial stage of the tournament.

    Van Nguyen: 495,000
    Abdulaziz Al-Dosari: 450,000

Kostadin Mihaylov opened to 1,100 from UTG+1. Paolo Cosenza (Hi-jack), Tom Triepels (Button), Christian Froehler (Small Blind), and Albert Kolmberger (Big Blind) all made the call.

The flop came 6Q2. It wasn’t a dull start; Froehler bet 6,000, and Kolberger pumped it up to 12,000 within seconds. This was enough to scare everyone away, even Froehler.

    Albert Kolmberger: 70,000

Max Ackermann opened to 1,500 UTG. Fredrik Zitting (Button) and Olivier Lacour (Big Blind) both made the call.

All three players checked the 463 flop. On the 6 turn, Lacour bet 2,500. Ackermann decided to get out of the way, while Zitting decided to stick around and make the call.

On the 7 river, Lacour checked. Zitting checked back and revealed his K4 holdings. Lacour couldn’t beat it, and his hand hit the muck.

What makes the €150 Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) stand out is the abnormally large guarantee in relation to the low buy-in. A €300,000 guarantee in a €150 tournament is beyond rare, and it’s quite the ambitious idea between Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk (founder of The Festival) and Roland Boothby (Head of Partnerships at The Hendon Mob).

The collaboration between The Festival and The Hendon Mob is a few years in the making, and this is the eighth THMC tournament during a The Festival event. The guarantee is larger than ever before, and the buy-in has been lowered from €250 to €150.

These parameters make this tournament one for the ages, and it’s no wonder more than 200 players are already battling it out in Day 1c – not even one hour into the tournament.

Patrick Schlatter limped from UTG. Laszlo Vincze also only called from UTG+1, before Hilmi Peker made it 1,600 from the Cut-off. Things didn’t stop there, as Ralf Hildebrandt made it 3,500 from the Small Blind. Peker was the sole caller going to the flop.

On K108, Hildebrandt continued for 1,500. Peker double-checked his hand and made the call. On the turn K, Hildebrandt sized up to 12,000. Again, Peker opted for the call.

Hildebrandt slowed down on the 8 river and checked. Peker wasted little time going all in, and Hildebrandt folded within seconds.

    Hilmi Peker: 67,000
    Ralf Hildebrandt: 35,000

Rise and shine! It’s the second day of the 2025 Festival Rozvadov, and today, poker.pro will provide live coverage from Day 1c of the €150 Hendon Mob (THMC).

The tournament starts in roughly one hour, and just like is the case for every other starting flight, play will not conclude until only 12,5 % of the field remains. For comparison, yesterday’s Day 1a had 227 entries. 29 players bagged their chips, perhaps 15 minutes into Level 18.

Late registration is open for 10 levels; the same goes for re-entry. The structure is as follows (excluding breaks):

It was a hectic first day of the 2025 Festival Rozvadov, and arguably, the €150 Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) was the center of attention. The Festival is swinging big and aiming for this tournament to be the biggest THMC event ever. Believe it or not, but the guarantee has never been as high as €300,000 before, and the buy-in has also reached a new low (€150).

On top of that, there are quite a few added rewards as well; the top two stacks from each starting flight receive a €550 Festival Main Event ticket each, and the one who wins the entire tournament will also receive a package to THMC Cape Town Million, roughly valued at €2,000.

Day 1b may have been the flight of the day that attracted the most entries, however, the poker.pro live reporting had its sole focus on Day 1b. Let’s take a quick sweep and see what went down in the first on-site flight of the €150 THMC Championship.

Decent Numbers to Start Things Off

Overall, 227 entries were made in Day 1a, which meant that 29 players would advance to Day 2 (which will be played June 8). Compare that with the first remote flight that ran in Prague, where nine players bagged.

Day 1a commenced at 13:00, after Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk and Roland Boothby held a short welcome speech to all players. About an hour later, the €30 satellite with 20 guaranteed tickets finished; the number of entries in the tournament was increasing at a rapid speed.

    Achim Prinzing
    Achim Prinzing. Photo: Mairo Toom

Play went on; the window for late registration and re-entry closed after Level 10. At this point, Achim Prinzing was most likely the tournament chip leader. When poker.pro commenced chip counts at the end of Level 12, Prinzing was still on top of the leaderboards.

    Rounding Things Up

After what would prove to be the last break of the day, 38 players remained, meaning nine more would go out before the remaining warriors would “bag N’ tag”. At this point, Stylianos Papantoniou held the chip lead, while Prinzing had lost some big pots.

From this stage onwards, things escalated very quickly. In fact, when the floor was about to announce hand-for-hand play, there was already one showdown happening at one of the tables. The bust of Dieter Bauer meant that bubble play would be skipped entirely, and that the remaining 29 players were in the money.

While the chip counts are not yet ready to be revealed, it’s no secret that Adrijan Bat and Suren Saiian finished as the top two stacks. That means that they both will receive a €550 ticket for The Festival Main Event.

As soon as possible, poker.pro will be back with full chip counts from Day 1a (and all other starting flights, for that matter). Tomorrow, the live reporting will commence at 11:00, following all the action from Day 1c.

  • No Bubble; Play is Over for Today

    Level 18:10,000/20,000 (20,000)
    Entries:29/227
    Prizes:TBA

As only 30 players remained, the floor was about to stop the dealers and announce hand by hand. However, there was still one hand going on at Table 601. It was an all-in pre-flop scenario between Dieter Bauer and Eden Vaturi, with Bauer being the player at risk.

    Dieter Bauer: AQ
    Eden Vaturi: 99

The board 49Q75 board favored Vaturi; with his set, he eliminated Bauer before the bubble stadium even began.

Such, the remaining 29 players are now bagging their chips. They will return to Day 2, June 8, but before then, there are many more Day 1 flights on the schedule.

The poker.pro live coverage is hereby completed for the day. However, a full recap of today’s action will be up as soon as possible, as well as full chip counts from Day 1a.

    Eden Vaturi: 544,000
    Dieter Bauer: 0

  • The Final Stretch

    Level 18:10,000/20,000 (20,000)
    Entries:32/227
    Prizes:TBA

Action folded to Frank Schäpers on the Button, who moved all in for 203,000. Seated in the Big Blind, Turay Kurtbogan made the call.

    Frank Schäpers: A8
    Turay Kurtbogan: A10

Schäpers was visibly displeased to see that he was dominated. It didn’t matter that he hit a pair on the Q4578 board; victory belonged to Kurtbogan and his nut flush.

As Level 18 recently commenced, it’s only a matter of time before 29 players remain.

    Turay Kurtbogan: 560,000
    Frank Schäpers: 0

  • Dhondt Finds a Big One

    Level 17:8,000/16,000 (16,000)
    Entries:35/227
    Prizes:TBA

Seyed Fazeli raised to 58,000 from the Lo-jack. From the Hi-jack, Philippe Dhondt moved all in for 244,000. When action came to Mohamed Bajjadi in the Big Blind, he went all in for 225,000. Fazeli folded; Dhondt and Bajjadi went to a showdown.

    Philippe Dhondt: AA
    Mohamed Bajjadi: JJ

A brutal cooler for Bajjadi, and the 9Q336 runout offered him little consolation. By the finest of margins, he was eliminated, and Dhondt now has a stack with great playability.

    Philippe Dhondt: 528,000
    Mohamed Bajjadi: 0

The remaining 38 players are now on a 15-minute break. Nine more will bust before the remaining 29 can bag their chips for Day 2. These are the five biggest stacks set to return to Level 17: 8,000/16,000 (16,000).

    Entries:38/227
    Prizes:TBA

Thomas Feldmann limped from the Lo-jack. Jaroslav Stulhofer called from the Small Blind, before Nghi Tran checked, seated in the Big Blind.

All three players checked the 4K9 flop. On the turn K, Stulhofer led out for 16,000. Tran folded, while Feldmann made the call.

The river was the 7. Stulhofer now checked, and Feldmann bet 32,000. After about a minute’s worth of consideration, Stulhofer made the call; Feldmann was lost in his thoughts, and the dealer had to catch his attention to let him know he was due to show his hand.

He turned over A10 for the nut flush, which was enough for him to take down the pot.

    Thomas Feldmann: 400,000
    Jaroslav Stulhofer: 180,000

UTG, Thomas Feldmann opened to 20,000. Achim Prinzing (Cut-off) and Johann Cintea (Small Blind) both made the call before José Benitez went all in for 280,000 from the Big Blind. Feldmann folded before Prinzing made the call with confidence. Cintea got out of the way, and it was time for a showdown between Benitez and Prinzing.

    José Benitez: 77
    Achim Prinzing: AK

It feels like the non-pair hand has won the majority of the coinflip situations today. This would prove to be the case this time as well, as the board ran out 24A8Q. Gracious in defeat, Benitez knocked on the table, and Prinzing is now back on top of the rankings.

    Achim Prinzing: 632,000
    José Benitez: 0

  • Papantoniou Improves

    Level 15:5,000/10,000 (10,000)
    Entries:41/227
    Prizes:TBA

Action folded to Stylianos Papantoniou on the Button, who opened to 25,000. After Adrijan Bat folded his Small Blind, Franke van Netten moved all in for 159,000. After receiving the count, big-stacked Papantoniou made the call.

    Franke van Netten: KJ
    Stylianos Papantoniou: A9

Papantoniou let out a “vamos,” as an ace appeared on the A46. The 98 runout didn’t change the outcome, and there’s a good chance Papantoniou is the current chip leader.

    Stylianos Papantoniou: 645,000
    Franke van Netten: 0

  • Dhondt Don’t Dismiss

    Level 14:4,000/8,000 (8,000)
    Entries:44/227
    Prizes:TBA

Alexander Keltz limped from the Hi-jack, and Small Blind player Seyed Fazeli also settled with a call. Philippe Dhondt wouldn’t have any of it, though, as he moved all in for 84,000 from the Big Blind. After some consideration, Keltz made the call prior to Fazeli folding.

    Philippe Dhondt: 99
    Alexander Keltz: 22

Dhondt was ahead, and no nasty surprises for him as the board spelled out J6K5Q. He doubled through Keltz and is still fighting to be top 29 and bag for Day 2.

    Alexander Keltz: 330,000
    Philippe Dhondt: 164,000

  • Kostantinos gets Lucky

    Level 13:3,000/6,000 (6,000)
    Entries:53/227
    Prizes:TBA

Tsolis Kostantinos opened to 16,00 from UTG+2. Action folded to Payam Ansarian on the Cut-off, who took perhaps three minutes before going all in for 37,000. The next player to make a move was Dirk Bertenburg, who raised to 100,000 from the Small Blind. When action came back to Kostantinos, he made the call with his 93,000 stack.

    Payam Ansarian: A2
    Dirk Bertenburg: QQ
    Tsolis Kostantinos: 1010

Bertenburg was on the course to eliminate two players. The flop J63 didn’t pose a threat to his queens. Neither did the 6 turn. He experienced pain on the river, though, as the 10 gave Kostantinos the best hand with a full house.

    Tsolis Kostantinos: 300,000
    Dirk Bertenburg: 254,000
    Payam Ansarian: 0

Seated in the Lo-jack, Julien Teissedre opened to 11,000. Shay Aldorf moved all in for 135,000 from the Cut-off. Action folded back to Teissedre, who didn’t hesitate before making the call, putting his 83,000 stack at risk.

    Shay Aldorf: 88
    Julien Teissedre: AA

Bad news for Aldorf, and he received no help on the K4710J board. The larger chunk of his stack went the way of Teissedre shortly before the break.

    Julien Teissedre: 185,000
    Shay Aldorf: 56,000

    Fatos Haxhaj: QJ

    Mario Scholz: J7

The flip went the way of Scholz as the board ran out Q3J37.

    Olivier Lacour: 75
    Tsolis Kostantinos: AK

Lacour was most certainly alive, but the QJ10 shattered his dreams. The 510 runout didn’t help him; there’s roughly 13 minutes left to re-enter the tournament. Perhaps he’ll try again, or aim for the 1b flight.

Frank Schäpers opened to 4,500 from the Hi-jack. Seated in the Small Blind, Elias Massinger pumped it up to 13,000. Schäpers decided to call.

Massinger continued the aggressive path on the 210J flop. Schäpers wasn’t going anywhere, and after making the call, the dealer presented the 9 on the turn. Massinger sized up to 26,000, and Schäpers called within seconds.

Action went check-check on the 9 river.

Massinger turned over AJ. Schäpers’ hand hit the muck, and the dealer pushed all the chips Massinger’s way.

Both players checked the 933 flop. After a check from Tanase on the Q turn, Vater bet 6,000. Tanase made the call.

Both players checked the A river.

    Stefan Tanase: JJ
    Kai Vater: Q8

A pair of queens was enough for Vater to take down the pot.

    Stefan Tanase: 106,000
    Kai Vater: 69,000

    Level 8:800/1,600 (1,600)
    Entries:113/199
    Prizes:TBA

Maxim Bakoyan limped from the Cut-off. Florian Bock would have none of it and decided to raise to 5,500 from the Button. Action folded back to Bakoyan, who made the call.

After an initial check from Bakoyan on the 4K7 flop, Bock bet 5,500. Bakoyan threw in two 5,000 chips. The dealer started to collect the chips, but Bakoyan then claimed that his intention was to raise. It was deemed, however, that the amount he bet couldn’t be valid for a raise. Bakoyan respected the decision.

You’d think Bock would be scared that Bakoyan was aiming for the check-raise, but no. He continued for 12,000 on the J after Bakoyan had checked to him. Bakoyan called, and the dealer revealed the 8 on the river. Bakoyan checked for a third time, and Bock now fired a 25,000 bet. Bakoyan sighed heavily before making the call.

Bock turned over AK which was enough for Bakoyan to muck his hand.

    Florian Bock: 146,000
    Maxim Bakoyan: 58,500

Eden Vaturi opened to 2,400 from UTG+1. Seated in the Hi-jack, Jukka Moisio made it 6,500 in total. Tomis Kocib (Button) and Franke van Netten (Small Blind) made the call prior to Vaturi folding.

Van Netten checked to Moisio, who continued for 6,000 on the 343 flop. Kocib quickly folded, while van Netten decided to stick around.

Both players checked the A turn. On the river 2, it was now van Netten who took the aggressive route as he bet 10,000. Moisio took perhaps one minute before making the call.

    Franke van Netten: QQ
    Jukka Moisio: A5

Moisio didn’t give his opponent credit for a flush. His straight was good, and he improved his already impressive stack even further.

Fabrice Lenoble opened to 2,800 from UTG. Seated next to him, Elias Massinger made the call. Robert Waberski also joined the fun from the Button.

On the J310 flop, Lenoble continued for 7,000. Massinger folded before Waberski made the call.

Lenoble didn’t slow down on the 8 turn and now bet 22,000. Without hesitation, Waberski moved all in for roughly 36,000. Faster than the speed of lightning, Lenoble made the call.

    Robert Waberski: AJ
    Fabrice Lenoble: KQ

Waberski was ahead, but with the Q on the river, his bullet came to an end. Time will tell if he decides to re-enter.

    Fabrice Lenoble: 116,000

  • Bat Leads the Field of 29 Players Through from Day 1a

    Shay Aldorf: 88
    Julien Teissedre: AA

Bad news for Aldorf, and he received no help on the K4710J board. The larger chunk of his stack went the way of Teissedre shortly before the break.

Lacour was most certainly alive, but the QJ10 shattered his dreams. The 510 runout didn’t help him; there’s roughly 13 minutes left to re-enter the tournament. Perhaps he’ll try again, or aim for the 1b flight.

Action went check-check on the 9 river.

Massinger turned over AJ. Schäpers’ hand hit the muck, and the dealer pushed all the chips Massinger’s way.

    Robert Waberski: AJ
    Fabrice Lenoble: KQ

Waberski was ahead, but with the Q on the river, his bullet came to an end. Time will tell if he decides to re-enter.

    Fabrice Lenoble: 116,000
    Robert Waberski: 0

From early position, Seyed Fazeli opened to 1,900. Benjamin Altun called from the Cut-off before Patrick Schlatter moved all in for 16,000 from the Small Blind.

“I’ll gamble with you,” Fazeli confirmed as he made the call. He revealed his cards, unaware that Altun was still in the hand. With the extra information in hand, Altun decided to fold his holdings, as Fazei and Schlatter went to showdown.

    Patrick Schlatter: AQ
    Seyed Fazeli: A5

Schlatter seemed convinced a five would come after the 349 flop. The board continued with KJ, though, and Schlatter secured the double-up.

  • Day 1a of THMC Kicks off the 2025 Festival Rozvadov in Fitting Fashion

The tournament area during the Festival Rozvadov 2025.

Today’s the first Friday of June, and what better place to spend it than in Rozvadov? Today, the 2025 Festival Rozvadov commences at King’s Resort, and eleven days of poker fun await all players who visit this Czech gem of a poker paradise.

The whole shebang kicks off with the €150 Hendon Mob Championship (THMC); this is the tournament that poker.pro will be covering today. More specifically, the eyes will be on Day 1a, which commences at 13:00. Late registration will be open for ten 30-minute levels, and there’s also unlimited re-entry during this period.

Play will not conclude until only 12,5 % of the field remains; those who are lucky enough to still be in it by then will bag their chips for Day 2 (June 8) and be guaranteed a €300 min-cash.

    €300,000 Guarantee – In a €150 Tournament?!

Make no mistake about it; this is not the typical €150 tournament. The founding father of the Festival, Martin “Franke” Von Zweigbergk, aims for this to be the biggest THMC event ever. Hence, the guarantee is set to €300,000, an abnormally large number in relation to the shy €150 buy-in.

Today may be Day 1a, but the tournament did, in fact, stealth-start a couple of weeks ago, as a remote flight was held at King’s Casino in Prague. Nine players moved on from this affair, and believe it or not, Franke himself bagged the chip lead, as he finished the day with 871,000.

It’s always a nice achievement to secure the chip lead, and for this tournament, players are even rewarded for it; the one who bags the most chips in each starting day flight wins a €550 ticket for the 2025 Festival Rozvadov Main Event. Quite the cherry on top of an already delicious dessert!

To make things even better, the player who’s crowned the winner on Day 2 will, in addition to the first-place payout and the coveted THMC trophy, also receive a package for the 2025 Hendon Mob Championship Cape Town, valued at roughly €2,000.

The poker.pro live coverage of Day 1a will commence at 13:00 when the first hand is dealt. Results and chip counts will be posted for every starting flight as quickly as possible.

Thomas Feldmann is one of the 63 players who advanced from Day 1c. Photo: Mairo Toom

    Andre Keck: JJ

A classic confrontation. Chamakala took the lead on the A76 flop, but the board completed JK giving Keck a set. Chamakala was left with a very, very small stack.

    Andre Keck: 492,000
    Manoj Chamakala: 3,000

Mann had two living cards, but he wasn’t able to connect on the 7K667 board. As Sidikhin’s stack grew, the total number of players remaining was reduced to 80.

    Vincenzo Scarpitti: AJ
    Madeleine Schuffert: AK

    Level 2:200/400 (400)

  • THMC Records Shattered During The Festival Rozvadov

Day 2 Will Crown a Winner

At 17:00 today, June 8, Day 2 will start. The poker.pro live reporting team will cover the tournament from start to finish until a historic winner is crowned. Make sure not to miss any action, and tune in to the live blog frequently. Before the tournament starts, the seat draw and full chip counts will be posted on poker.pro.

  • Haik Tougu Makes Poker History; Wins Largest THMC Event Ever at the Crack of Dawn

  • Prometheus Lights Fire in Cash Game Challenge

Prometheus 13 wins The Festival Series Rozvadov Cash Game Challenge Session #2

    Adrianus Van Dongen: K10
    Ralf Hildebrandt: QJ

Hildebrandt took the lead on the 34Q flop. “Diamond!” Van Dongen’s solo rail shouted. “Diamond!” the supporter continued on the A turn. “Klar!” he roared as the 7 fell on the river. Such, Hildebrandt was eliminated in position 32.

Then, when it was Liberio’s turn to act, he 4-bet to 1,600,000. Saidani called, and after spending maybe four minutes in the tank, Van Dongen also joined the party. A big pot was brewing.

The flop came 10610. First to act, Van Dongen checked it over to Liberio, who continued for 800,000. After two minutes’ worth of consideration, Saidani folded. Then, with great displeasure, Van Dongen’s cards also hit the muck.

The flop came KA2. What followed was a three-minute moment of nothing; both players waited the maximum amount in an attempt to snag a pay jump. Eventually, though, Saidani forced Hildebrandt all in for the remaining 10,000. Naturally, Hildebrandt made the call.

Even though there’s a lot of poker still to be played, Onodyova has earned herself great presumptions for a deep run.

  • THMC Records Shattered During The Festival Rozvadov

As anticipation builds for one of poker’s most vibrant series, The Festival is once again bringing its unique blend of competition and community to King’s Resort. Among the highlights is the return of The Hendon Mob Championship (THMC), a fan-favorite side event that’s become a fixture since debuting in 2023.

With a €300,000 guarantee, this THMC edition is shaping up to be the biggest yet. Before cards are in the air in Rozvadov, we’re looking back at the short but rich history of this partnership—and the players who etched their names in the growing legacy of The Festival Series.
