LIVE Reporting: Pure Poker Tour

Full coverage of the 2026 Pure Poker Tour from Pure Casino Yellowhead will be provided on poker.pro, with live updates and reporting by Lyle Bateman.

  • 50+ Game Starts the Second PPT of 2026

    Date:May 7, Noon
    Blinds:30 Minutes
    Starting Stack:25k
    Late Entry:8 Levels (~5 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The second edition of the Pure Poker Tour is about to kick off, as the 50+ crowd will fill the Pearl Room at Pure Casino Yellowhead starting at noon on Thursday, May 7. This first shot at a PPT #2 trophy is restricted to players aged 50 or older, but the opening day features a later game with fully open entry for everyone to take their shot at PPT Crystal.

The Seniors kick things off, however, with 25k in chips for levels that are 30 minutes long throughout the day (heads-up blinds are reduced to 20 minutes). The players have 8 levels to buy in or rebuy, with the final chance to get a stack coming about 5 PM after the dinner break, just as they sit down for Level 9. After that, they’ll play to a winner before the end of the night.

Francis Fan, Winner of Event #1 at 2026 PPT #1

In January’s 50+ game, Francis Fan took down the trophy over a field of 133. That gave him the biggest share of nearly $38k in prizes, with runner-up John Nielsen earning the second-biggest share.

I’ll be at the felt for this one, trying to secure my first-ever live poker win. Alek Gillies will handle the opening-day reporting duties, but don’t expect him to arrive until about 4 PM, as I expect it to be a very late night.
