The side game on Tuesday, playing out alongside Day 1a of the Monster and Day 2 of the Two-Day $1k, is the Turbo $1k. The game starts at 4 PM, and players get 30k for their $1k. Blinds are 20 minutes in the Turbo version, and players can buy in for the first 12 levels of play.
That should put the max late reg at about 8:30 PM, and they’ll play down to a winner after that. It could be a late one, but the turbo format may well shorten the day.
Joel Kogan took down this game in January, over a field of 222 for prizes of nearly $195k. Last October, Harpreet Gil was the top dog in the 164-entry field. He faced down one of Canada’s best in Mike Leah, head-to-head for the ring, and posed with his buddy and local legend, DJ Sharma.
