The inaugural WSOP Circuit Malta wrapped up its final day at Casino Malta and the InterContinental Malta in St. Julian’s on Monday, October 5, with three more rings handed out to close what had already been a landmark week for international poker. France’s Gaspard Querillacq took down the €300 Colossus for €30,000, Italy’s Angelo Vietti claimed the €400 Superstack for €17,225, and France’s Ugo Vladimir Taurines shipped the one-day €350 Bigstack for €19,200.
The final three ring winners came one day after Italy’s Luca Topazio became the first-ever WSOP Circuit Malta Main Event champion, winning €200,000 from an 879-entry field. Each of the 12 ring winners also earned a WSOP Paradise package valued at $5,000. The inaugural WSOP Circuit Malta was a huge success with big fields and tons of action and crowned 12 champions across nine days. This confirms that Casino Malta is a venue the WSOP Circuit and other festivals can build on.

Gaspard Querillacq Leads Wire to Wire in the Colossus
France’s Gaspard Querillacq came into the Colossus final day as chip leader with 718,000 and never relinquished his spot at the top of the leaderboard, eventually defeating the UK’s Wayne Brook heads-up to claim the title. The €300 buy-in event drew 659 entries across six starting flights, building a €161,059 prize pool. Brook collected €18,944 for the runner-up spot, and France’s Romain Lefebvre de Rieux finished third for €13,200.
Querillacq is listed on The Hendon Mob with around $59,000 in total live earnings heading into the series, almost all of it from the French and Belgian local circuit. The Colossus victory at €30,000 is the biggest live score of his career by a significant margin, and the WSOP Circuit ring is his first.
