The very first hand after the break, Andrew Wilson limped on the Button. Michael Breen then forced his opponent all in for 2,040,000 in total, and Wilson made the call without hesitation.

This was Breen’s fifth attempt at eliminating his opponent in an all-in-and-call situation pre-flop, and, albeit only by a small margin, he had the best hand. He took a firm lead on the 7A5 flop, and Wilson was looking for running hearts, running two-pair, or a runner-runner straight to survive. Unfortunately for him, he was left drawing dead on the 9 turn, and the 5 was merely dealt for ceremonial reasons. Wilson had fought long and well, and he put all of his poker skills on full display. In the end, though, he was declared runner-up of the £500 Main Event, and was awarded £15,000.

Michael Breen: 13,000,000
