Ross Wilson Gets Another Win

Ross Wilson (R), Winner of E7 & Tina Nguyen (L), runner up in E7

After nearly two hours heads up, the PLO Double Board Bomb Pot is finally over. Tina Nguyen came into heads up a slight dog tonight, but she wasn’t about to go down gently.

They traded chops for the first 30 minutes of heads-up without much change in the chip lead, but Nguyen was able to chip up into the lead for a while. The pair talked chop at one point during heads up, but Wilson is in the running for player of the series (this is his second win with other cashes this week as well), and, while he didn’t have an issue chopping the money, he wasn’t interested in chopping up the points, so they played it out.

In the final hand, Nguyen was all-in before the flops with ace-jack-seven-five with diamonds against queen-jack-ten-eight with hearts for Wilson. Wilson’s two pair on the top and boat on the bottom, using queen-ten for both sides, scooped the pot for the win.

This will almost certainly put Wilson in the driver’s seat for Player of the Series, but I don’t know what the actual points are at the moment. I’ll try to get the current standings updated during the day tomorrow.
