Rawn Goes Deep in Eight-Game, Daynard Shines in Mini Main, Negreanu Keeps Cashing

Rawn Leads in Mixed-Game Spotlight

Elaine Rawn flew the flag deep into one of the most technical events on the calendar, Event #73: $1,500 Eight-Game Mix. The mixed-game specialist played her way to the final table and finished in 6th for $29,234—one of the most impressive Canadian final table appearances of the summer given the complexity of the format.

Taylor and Del Grosso Add to Mixed-Game Success

She was joined in the money by Marcello Del Grosso and Thomas Taylor, who both earned $54,777 for their runs. For Taylor, the cash adds yet another highlight to a standout mixed-game series that includes multiple deep runs and a runner-up finish earlier in the summer. The Alberta pro continues to prove he’s among the best in the world when the games start rotating.

Daynard Deep in the Mini Main

Over in Event #75: $1,000 Mini Main Event, Connor Daynard posted one of the top Canadian results of the week with a stellar 11th-place finish. Daynard fought through a field of thousands and came up just short of the final table, but he still earned $70,690 for his effort—one of the biggest Canadian scores of the summer so far.

Negreanu Cashes in Back-to-Back Events

Daniel Negreanu has stayed busy—and dangerous—as always. He posted back-to-back deep runs this week, starting with a 4th-place finish in Event #76: $2,500 Mixed Big Bet for $60,792. The wild and swingy format saw Negreanu maneuver through a tough field before ultimately falling just shy of the podium.

Just days later, he returned to high-stakes action and booked another strong showing in Event #79: $100,000 PLO High Roller. Facing off against the world’s top crushers, Negreanu banked $209,457 for 15th place, adding to his growing stack of cashes in 2025. Still no bracelet this summer for Kid Poker—but he’s clearly within striking distance.

Li, Zhao, and Pilot in Final Table Contention

Looking ahead, there are a few more serious sweat opportunities brewing. Jason Li is making a push toward the final table in Event #78: $600 PokerNews Championship. He enters the next stage 4th in chips with 23,500,000 and has a shot to close out one of the biggest fields of the series.

And in Event #80: $800 Summer Celebration, Zizhu Zhao and Shawn Pilot are sitting near the top of the leaderboard. Zhao bagged 2,285,000 chips, good for 2nd overall, while Pilot sits right behind with 2,190,000. With huge fields, soft structures, and big money on the line, both players are well-positioned for another Canadian sweat as we head into the weekend.
