The final weekend of play at the 2026 Summer Super Stack at Deerfoot Inn & Casino is underway, with just a few events left to finish. The big weekend draw is the Main Event, and Friday saw the opening day of action for the big show. Friday also featured the final day of action in the Megastack, the second multi-flight game of the series, as well as the PLO Bounty game.
34 Players returned for Day 2 action in the Megastack, from a starting field of 353 entries and $167,675 in prizes. Later that same evening, the PLO Bounty game drew 101 entries for prizes of $28,785 ($18,685 prizes, $10,100 bounties). The busy Friday action also saw 118 entries jump into the opening flight of the Main Event, putting more than $150k into the prize pool with the full second flight left to run on Saturday.
That leaves just three events left to complete here at the Summer Super Stack, and the total series prizes are over $700k. With $300k almost guaranteed in the Main Event alone, it looks like a lock for the total series prizes to push well past $1 million by the end of the Sunday action. The total entries across the series are now over 2,100, with that number expected to push to 2,500 or so once all the events are recorded.

Tarasoff & Razzaq Chop the Top of the Megastack

Event #12: $560 Megastack ($500 + $60)
The Megastack was the second multi-flight event of the series. Slotting in between the $340 Deepstack and the $1,500 Superstack, the $560 Megastack hit the sweet spot in the middle.
After two days of entries, the final field was 353 entries for more than $167k in prizes, with that prize pool pushing the combined series prizes over $700k. 34 players came back on Friday’s Day 2 to compete for a piece of those prizes, after a double knockout at the end of Day 1b dropped the expected 35-player field to 34 for Day 2.
Thomas Taylor brought the chip lead into Day 2 after he abused the nearly interminable bubble at the end of Day 1b, racking up a stack of almost 900k to start Day 2. Jordan Banfield did something similar across the room, building the second stack for Day 2 at 749k, while 1a leader Julius Roque was 3rd for Day 2 with 625k.
Taylor & Banfield were both able to play those stacks onto the final table, while Roque had a rough Day 2, ending his run as the first player off the final two tables. Banfield ended up with 9th place, while Taylor was able to run it up to 4th.
The endgame featured names that weren’t in the top counts to start the day, but nonetheless were familiar faces. Daniel Lefebvre made it to 3rd place before his chips went to Ali Razzaq, to set up heads-up play between Razzaq and Glenn Tarasoff. Tarasoff had the lead, and with the blinds up to 80k/160k/160k and rising fast, the final two players decided to chop it up down the middle.
Tarasoff had the big stack at the time, so he took the official win, but the stacks were close enough that they both agreed to split the remaining $61,663 evenly, with each player earning $30,832.

Darlington Dominates Final Table of PLO Bounty

Event #15: $340 PLO Bounty ($200 + $100 + $40)
The PLO Bounty game went a bit quicker than expected on Friday night, with Peter Darlington running over the final table at the end. It took around 7.5 hours from the opening hand until Darlington had all the chips, and while he shared the early final table lead with Kevin White, the endgame was all Darlington.
He was relentless from 6-handed down to the win, raising most hands preflop and forcing the shorter stacks into decisions for most of their stack. He collected a lot of free chips that way, but was also running hot enough to get there most of the time when he needed to.
He hit quads twice in the endgame, using them to take a big chunk from White’s stack before sending White home in 3rd place. That set up a quick heads-up between Darlington, with most of the chips in play, against Kurtis Ruhl, who was very short. That said, Ruhl did well to get that far — when I arrived at the final table to do the final table faces, Ruhl was all-in for his final 40k or so, and he requested that I wait until he won the hand to take his picture. He tripled up and never looked back from there, playing that stack into second place.
Heads-up only took a couple of hands. Ruhl was able to double his fumes early, but the mountain Darlington built was just too steep to clmb, and he was running too hot. In the final hand, he cracked Ruhl’s queens with a suit, hitting two pair with six-four-four-three when he connected with his 3 on the flop, then rivered the six for two pair and the win.

Day 1a of the Main Event Gets More Than $150k

Event #14: $1,500 Super Stack (Main) ($1,350 + $150)
The opening flight to the Main Event also played out on Friday, running alongside Day 2 of the Megastack, and it was a solid start for the big show. 118 entries came out for Day 1a, putting more than $150k into the prizes, and boosting the series prizes over $850k.
Unlike the other multi-flight entries in this series, the Main Event is not guaranteed to play down to 10%, meaning Day 2 players won’t be in the money to start the final day. Day 1 flights in the Main play until Level 15, though they could theoretically bag early if they hit 10% of the field before then.
That’s unlikely to happen in a game with a 40k starting stack and 40-minute blinds, and Day 1a went the distance, bagging 19 players (roughly 16% of the field) at the end. James Harnden is the Day 1a leader with 462k in his bag, while Sam Gottiparthi & Jo Teliani also bagged more than 400k.
The final flight to the Main runs on Saturday, and the total prizes are sure to push higher than $300k, and likely hit $350k or more by the end of 1b.
