With late registration now closed for the World Series of Poker Main Event, the entry numbers and prize pool have been confirmed. It’s official. The 2026 edition is the fourth largest in the series’ illustrious history.

After 820 new entries were made during late registration on Day 2d, the total number of entries for the Main Event reached 9,208, a touch shy of last year’s tournament, but still up there with the biggest and richest of all time.

There were 4,458 players who sat down for Day 2d and, of those, 2,034 found the bag at the end of the night.

Michael Rossitto topped the counts with 770,500 and has taken the overall chip lead. The US player has over $5.4 million in live tournament winnings, according to The Hendon Mob, including a career-best score of $604,637 for finishing first in the 2023 Wynn Millions Main Event. Rossitto has already come close to WSOP glory in the past, most notably in 2025, when he came within a whisker twice, finishing second in the $1,500 Shootout and third in the $1,500 Freezeout events.

In second place sits entrepreneur Jeff Fenster of the US with 747,000, while Yannick Schumacher of Germany rounds out the podium spots. Terrance Reid, who came fourth in the 2025 WSOP Paradise Main Event last year for an impressive $4,000,000, finished within the top ten counts for the day with 597,500 chips.

2026 WSOP Main Event Prize Pool and Payouts

The moment players had been waiting for came two levels into Day 1d, when late registration closed and the TD announced the final numbers for the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event.

The total number of entries reached 9,208, making for a prize pool of $85,634,400. Although this represents a slight dip from last year’s numbers, the 2026 Main Event is officially the fourth biggest in history.

The top 1,382 players are set to make at least a min-cash of $15,000, with all eyes on the top end, as the nine final tablists will all earn seven-figures. The top prize? Exactly the same as last year. A cool, lifechanging $10 million is set aside for the outright winner, with the runner-up earning $6,000,000 for their efforts.
