Day 1a is Complete with 13 Players Remaining; Lane Leads
Level: 20 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 13/239 Prizes: $78,870 The first flight to the 4-Flight is now complete, and they played the full 20 levels. When the final hand was played at the end of Level 20, there were still 13 stacks in the game.
Regina’s Deven Lane is the leader from the opening flight with 785k and fellow Saskatchewanite Ryan Smith is second, about 100k behind Lane. Cory Hauser, Kali Shuali, and Josh Myers round out the top five. See below for the full stacks from 1a.

17 Remain in Day 1a
Level: 18 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 17/239 Prizes: $78,870 They are down to 17 players left in Day 1a of the 4-Flight now, just five off the early end to the night. There are a bit more than 5 minutes left in Level 18 with two more levels to play after this one so it looks like the bags will likely come out early.
Below is a look at the cashing players so far, and while I don’t have all the names for remaining players, Ryan Smith, Colin Burton, Tyler Panas, Deven Lane, Shane Brotherwood, Marc-Andre Kudjick-Paquin, Kali Shuali, and Seamus McGearty are among the players still alive in this one.

In the Money
Level: 14 (3000/5000/5000) Entries: 34/239 Prizes: $78,870 Day 1a of the 4-Flight is now in the money with 34 players left. They’ll be playing down to 12 players or the end of Level 20, whichever comes first but I’m still watching the endgame of the Bounty, so I’m not watching this one very closely but Jacob Hobday, Kali Shuali, Ryan Smith, Shane Brotherwood, Seamus McGearty, and Gurdeep Parhar are amount the players still in the game.

239 Entries Confirmed
Level: 10 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 90/239 Prizes: $78,870 The numbers are now confirmed at 239 entries for Day 1a prizes of $78,870. Up to $20,548 of that will be handed out on Day 1a for places from 36th down to 13th, assuming they play down to 5% with anything not awarded today rolling over to Day 2.
Just a reminder that for Day 1 pay events, I won’t be using the Payouts tab until Day 2, so all results will updated in the blog, but will not be reflected in the Payouts tab until the final day of play.

239 Entries (Unofficial)
Level: 9 (1000/1500/1500) Entries: 99/239 Prizes: $78,870 Entries are now closed for the opening flight of the 4-Flight game and while the numbers aren’t official yet, it looks like 239 entries built a prize pool of $78,870 for Day 1a. That will mean that 36 players will be in the money from this flight with at least 12 advancing through to Day 2, assuming the numbers are confirmed when the Day 1a prizes come out.

About 30 Minutes to Enter Flight 1a
Level: 8 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 101/228 Prizes: $75,240 There are just under 15 minutes to play in Level 8 of the opening flight to the 4-Flight with 228 entries on the board. The reg0desk will close for today’s flight after the break following this level, but there are still three more flights for this one, with two running Friday and one more running Saturday.
There are currently 101 players left in the action, and I’ll update the numbers once they come back from the break in about 25 minutes.
-
More than $56k in Prizes so Far
Level: 4 (300/500/500) Entries: 171/171 Prizes: $56,430 Level 4 is nearly complete and the 4-Flight players will be out for a break following this level. When they return there will be four more levels of entry in tonight’s flight.
The field is currently at 171, which is about 100 entries off of last year’s 1a total (Jan), but with a couple of hours of entry still remaining, it seems like a decent bet that today’s flight will end up around the same size as last year’s.
-
Nearly 100 Entries for Open Flight of 4-Flight
Level: 2 (200/300/300) Entries: 95/95 Prizes: $31,350 The 4-Flight game is underway with the opening flight now in play. There are 95 entries on the board for prizes of just over $31k at the moment.
Entries should be open tonight until about 8:30 pm with the desk set to close at the start of Level 9. Once entries close, it will be a race to see what comes first – 5% of the field, or the end of Level 20 with the bags coming out as soon as one of those landmarks is hit. If they go the full 20 levels, the day should end shortly after 3 am but my guess is that they bag earlier than that.
I won’t be following this event very closely until later in the night as I’ll be in Sundance watching the Black Chip Bounty game, but once that ring is awarded, I’ll finish up the night over here.

4-Flight Starts on the Side
Event 4: $400 4-Flight ($330 + $70) Date: Day 1a: Jan 9 – 4 PM
Day 1b: Jan 10 – 11 AM
Day 1c: Jan 10 – 4 PM
Day 1d: Jan 11 – 11 AM
Day 2: Jan 12 – 1 pmBlinds: 30 Minutes Starting Stack: 20k Late Entry: 8 Levels (~8:45) Day 1 Ends: Level 20 (or %5 of the field) The side event on Thursday is the opening flight of the 4-Flight with two more flights going Friday and the final flight on Saturday morning.
Players start with 20k and play 30-minute levels throughout the day. They can enter or rebuy for 8 levels of poker with the final chance to rebuy coming at about 8:45 pm. They’ll play until they hit 5% of the field or the end of Level 20, whichever comes first.
My focus will be on the Black Chip Bounty for most of today, but once that game awards the ring I’ll finish up my night with the opening 4-Flight flight.

Devon Morgan Leads 1b Qualifiers
The stacks are in and Devon Morgan, from Toronto, is the leader from Day 1b. He bagged 731k which will put him just behind Day 1a’s leader Deven Lane. Sam Gottiparthi, David Katzov, Evan Casey, and Marcio Kondo (who was at the final table of the Black Chip Thursday night) round out the top five counts. See below for all the qualifying stacks from 1b.
Player Chips Devon Morgan 731,000 Sam Gottiparthi 608,000 David Katzov 495,000 Evan Casey 472,000 Marcio Kondo 465,000 Mohsen Shafizadeh 459,000 Sean O’Reilly 430,000 Bill Duncan 429,000 Ethan Flewin 426,000 Anderson Frank-Graham 412,000 Chris Fagan 393,000 Dylan Boyer 359,000 Bobby Launderville 333,000 Lanze Chevillard 305,000 Steve Dejarlais 283,000 Tristan Buchanan 265,000 Justin Pennell 263,000 Ed Gaetz 224,000 Jorden Arbuthnott 210,000 -
Day 1b is Complete with 19 Remaining
Level: 18 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 19/378 (32/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) 19 players are bagging their chips right now at the end of Day 1b. They got to 5% of the field with 21:42 remaining in Level 18 so that is the latest that Day 2 will begin on Sunday, but that may get moved earlier in the structure if 1c or 1d end earlier.
I should have the chips collated shortly, but in the meantime, the cashing players from 1b are below.
Place Player Prize 20 Bobby Jones $965 21 Joshuua Harris $965 22 Nicholas Lee $965 23 Yonatan Basin $965 24 Nirosh Jeyananthan $965 25 Marco Dinardo $965 26 Glenn Slater $965 27 Shawn Sperber $849 28 Guneet Singh $849 29 Randolph Bear $849 30 Christian Mirkovic $849 31 Evan Thomas $849 32 Shawn Holland $849 33 David Kumar $849 34 Romualdo Cusano $849 35 Shawn Caron $849 36 Xiaoyi Wang $809 37 Melvin Podaima $809 38 Jacob Johnston $809 39 Francis Fortin-Chevalier $809 40 Evan Chen $809 41 Kyle Kamachi $809 42 Mehrad Khalajzadeh $809 43 Faiyaz Sumar $809 44 Kyle Rosnes $809 45 John Dalphond $809 46 Patrick Finnegan $809 47 Jason Robinson $809 48 Nick Peterson $809 49 Timothy Bignell $809 50 Kyle Myers $809 51 Olivier Brodeur $809 52 Gennady Klimenko $809 53 Jessie Ingaldson $809 54 Garett Maybery $809 55 Ghislaine Johnson $809 56 Stephen O’Bertos $809 57 Dylan Ellis $405 58 Ryotaro Motonaga $405 -
Final Three Tables
Level: 16 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 27/378 (40/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) They are down to 17 remaining on 1b with 15 minutes to play in Level 16. That puts them just 8 players away from an early end to the day so it seems pretty unlikely they’ll go the full distance tonight. Below is a look at cashing players since my last update.
Place Player Prize 28 Guneet Singh $849 29 Randolph Bear $849 30 Christian Mirkovic $849 31 Evan Thomas $849 32 Shawn Holland $849 33 David Kumar $849 34 Romualdo Cusano $849 35 Shawn Caron $849 36 Xiaoyi Wang $809 37 Melvin Podaima $809 38 Jacob Johnston $809 39 Francis Fortin-Chevalier $809 -
Down to 39 Left
Level: 15 (3000/6000/6000) Entries: 39/378 (52/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) They are down to 40 players left now after a flurry of activity at the payout desk since the bubble. See below for a look at cashing players so far.
Place Player Prize 40 Evan Chen $809 41 Kyle Kamachi $809 42 Mehrad Khalajzadeh $809 43 Faiyaz Sumar $809 44 Kyle Rosnes $809 45 John Dalphond $809 46 Patrick Finnegan $809 47 Jason Robinson $809 48 Nick Peterson $809 49 Timothy Bignell $809 50 Kyle Myers $809 51 Olivier Brodeur $809 52 Gennady Klimenko $809 53 Jessie Ingaldson $809 54 Garett Maybery $809 55 Ghislaine Johnson $809 56 Stephen O’Bertos $809 57 Dylan Ellis $405 58 Ryotaro Motonaga $405 -
In the Money
Level: 14 (3000/5000/5000) Entries: 56/378 (69/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) They are in the money now in Day 1b with 56 players remaining and just under 15 minutes to play in Level 14. Calls of payout are now coming fast and furious, so it looks like there will be some prizes to report shortly.
It looks like Dylan Ellis (who won this event last year) and Ryotaro Motonaga split the 57th place min-cash after busting on the same hand on the bubble but there are more payouts to come as there is a lineup at the desk now.
-
Bubble Time
Level: 14 (3000/5000/5000) Entries: 199/316 (270/933) Prizes: $104,280 ($307,890 total) They are down to 58 players left now in 1b with 57 paid and the clock will be paused shortly for hand-for-hand play. Action is finishing right now on the tables in play when the field came down to 58, so it’s possible the clock won’t be paused.
-
Seven Off the Money
Level: 13 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 64/378 (77/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) There are just under 10 minutes to play in Level 13 and the field is down to 64 players remaining. That puts them 7 off the money spots tonight and 6 off the bubble. It looks like they’ll go hand-for-hand sometime early in Level 14.
-
Back from Dinner
Level: 13 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 70/378 (83/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) They are back from dinner now and Level 13 is underway with 70 players remaining. They’ll pause the clock for hand-for-hand play after 12 more eliminations.
-
14 Off the Money
Level: 12 (2000/3000/3000) Entries: 71/378 (84/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) Day 1b is just a few minutes from the dinner break following Level 12 and the field is down to 71 players left. That puts them 14 off the 57 paid spots today, so it looks like the bubble will come shortly after they return from dinner for Level 13.
-
1b Prizes are In
Level: 11 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 90/378 (103/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) The Day 1b prizes are on the board now and 57 players will be sharing in $124,740 either later tonight, or on Day 2. At least 19 players will bag chips to move on to Day 2, but there may be more than that depending on how quickly 1b plays down today.
Day 1b Payouts
Place Prize 1-19 Day 2 20-26 $965 27-35 $849 36-57 $809 -
378 Entries Confirmed for 1b
Level: 10 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 135/378 (148/617) Prizes: $124,740 ($203,610 total) Entries are closed for flight 1b now with 378 confirmed entries on the board. There are still 135 players in the game, and it looks like 57 players will getting money from this flight (or Day 2) with at least 19 moving through to Day 2 on Sunday.
Full Day 1b prizes will be published shortly.
-
Final Break of Entry
Level: 8 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 174/375 (187/614) Prizes: $123,750 ($202,620 total) The final break of entries is now underway wit 375 entries on the board. That puts them 20 off the numbers for 1b last year, so it looks likely that today will fall a little short of last year, but will be within 20 entries.
Among the other players I’ve spotted today are Dylan Ellis, who won this event last season, as well as Shawn Caron, Sean O’Reilly, Jeff Saunders, Kyle Rosnes (who was n the FT in the Bounty game last night), Sam Gottiparthi, Colten Yamagishi, and Jacob Hobday.
-
366 Entries with 30 Minutes to Enter
Level: 8 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 165/366 (174/605) Prizes: $120,780 ($199,650 total) There are just over 10 minutes to play in Level 8 with entries set to close when they sit down for Level 9. Entries will stay open through the break that follows this level, but 1b will be closed when Level 9 kicks off.
I haven’t got a full accounting of players in the game at the moment, but a few of the familiar faces I’ve seen in the crowd today include DJ Sharma, Justin Meng, Shawn Sperber, Sunny Lubana, Pete Fylyma, April Facey, and Daniel O’Leary.
-
Day 1b Over $100k in Prizes
Level: 7 (500/1000/1000) Entries: 194/335 (203/574) Prizes: $110,550 ($189,420) Day 1b of the 4-Flight is already significantly bigger than Day 1a, with nearly 100 more entries already and more than an hour left in the entry period. The 335 entries so far today have put more than $110k into the prize pool, bringing the tw day total to just shy of $190k.
Last January, the second flight for this game saw 395 entries, so it’s looking like a decent bet to meet or beat that number with only ~60 entries or so to go. Entries will be open until the beginning of Level 10, which should be around 3:30 or so.

Friday is Four-Flight Day – Day 1b
Event 4: $400 4-Flight ($330 + $70) Date: Day 1a: Jan 9 – 4 PM
Day 1b: Jan 10 – 11 AM
Day 1c: Jan 10 – 4 PM
Day 1d: Jan 11 – 11 AM
Day 2: Jan 12 – 1 pmBlinds: 30 Minutes Starting Stack: 20k Late Entry: 8 Levels (~3:45) Day 1 Ends: Level 20 (or %5 of the field) Friday is all about the 4-Flight with two flights running. Day 1b kicks off at 11 am with late entries closing at about 3:45 pm, while Day 1c goes at 4 PM with late entry until about 8:45. Both games will play down to 5% of the field or the end of Level 20, whichever comes first. If they go the full 20 levels the early flight will bag around 11 pm while the later flight will bag after 3 am.
All flights start with 20k in chips for 30-minute levels. The 4-Flight is the only game in town for Friday, and I’ll be watching 1b closely first, and move over to 1c once 1b bags for the night.

“Daddy” Bash Bags Biggest
The 1c chips are in and “Big Daddy” Bash Ramahi bagged the biggest of the day, and the tournament so far. Earlier in the night he asked me what the biggest stack was, and when I told him Deven Lane bagged almost 800k on 1a, he immediately sent a troll voicemail to Lane, then proceeded to best the stack.
Kyle Chang. Jeremy Harper, Mason St. Martin, and Peter Darlington round out the top five stacks from 1c. Darlington will be one to watch on Sunday as he’ll be playing more than half a million and he already knows how to win this ring, having won the May 2024 edition of this tournament.
Day 1c Qualifying Stacks
Player Chips Bash Ramahi 825,000 Kyle Chang 771,000 Jeremy Harper 646,000 Mason St. Martin 611,000 Peter Darlington 565,000 Craig Caldwell 511,000 Jason Chan 470,000 Alex Allison 438,000 Alex Lenslais 411,000 Trevor Otterson 338,000 Jeff Clarke 336,000 Mike Rozak 294,000 Coltyn Gaetz 270,000 Easton Walker 269,000 Allan Alejandro 245,000 Trevor Simpson 166,000 Julius Roque 156,000 Bruce Demish 155,000 George Mounsef 152,000 Chaohuai Wang 104,000 -

End of Night Bubble
Level: 19 (10000/15000/15000) Entries: 21/385 (52/1,002) Prizes: $127,050 ($330,660 total) They are on the bubble to the end of the night now with 21 players left in the game. The next elimination will bring out the bags. Level 19 has just under 25 minutes to play with another level on the schedule following this one, but it seems very unlikely it’ll last that long.
-
Final Three Tables
Level: 18 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 27/385 (59/1,002) Prizes: $127,050 ($330,660 total) They are down to the final three tables now with 27 left as Level 18 begins. That puts them 7 eliminations off the early bags with almost three full levels left to play on the schedule. Cashing players since my last update are below.
Place Player Prize 28 Kim Pham $849 29 Garrett Birch $849 30 Stefan Maloney $849 -
Break Time
Level: 16 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 30/385 (62/1,002) Prizes: $127,050 ($330,660 total) They are just 11 off the early end to 1c as they head out for break following Level 16. There are 30 players left in action at the break, so it looks likely the bags will come out sometime in Level 17 or 18. Cashing players since my last update are listed below.
Place Player Prize 31 Diogenes Forbes $849 32 Robbie Roscoe $849 33 April Facey $849 34 Andy Truong $849 35 Ka Lok Yeung $849 36 Korey Dadgar $808 37 Lee Miller $808 38 Adam Worr $808 39 Daniel O’Leary $808 40 Brandon Wammes $808 41 Bradley Bernier $808 -

Level: 15 (3000/6000/6000) Entries: 41/385 (73/1,002) Prizes: $127,050 ($330,660 total) They are down to 41 players left in Day 1c with about 5 minutes to play on Level 15. They’ll go for the final break of the night following Level 16 and it seems likely this flight will end early, likely in Level 17 or 18. See below for the cashing players since my last update.
Place Player Prize 42 Zacharie Desautels $808 43 Adam Cader $808 44 Rami Hammond $808 45 Aidan Klingbeil $808 46 Scott Roland $808 47 Trent Hopper $808 48 Steven Barber $808 49 Maddick Schulz $808 50 Jerry Li $808 51 Kenneth Trautmann $808 52 Jason Livingston $808 -

14 Off the Money
Level: 13 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 72/385 (104/1,002) Prizes: $127,050 ($330,660 total) There are about 15 minutes to play in Level 13 with the field down to 72 players left now. That puts them 14 off the 58 paid spots for tonight so it seems like a decent bet that they’ll hit the bubble sometime near the end of this level or the start of 14.

385 Entries for 1c
Level: 10 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 126/385 (159/1,002) Prizes: $127,050 ($330,660 total) Entries are closed for 1c now with 385 entries on the board. That puts the combined total at 1,002 with one more flight to run on Saturday morning.
The total prizes so far are just over $330k with $127,050 coming from 1c. At least 20 players will be advancing to Day 2 from 1c, while 58 players will be part of the money.

Final Level of Entry
Level: 8 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 185/352 (232/969) Prizes: $116,160 ($319,770 total) The combined prizes are now nearing $320k with 352 entries on the board in 1c to start the final level of entries. That puts the combined field so far at 969 with a full flight yet to run tomorrow, but it seems likely we’ll see another 20+ entries in 1c before it finally shuts down for the night.
-
More than 900 Entries in Total
Level: 6 (400/800/800) Entries: 199/316 (273/933) Prizes: $104,280 ($307,890 total) The combined prizes are now over $300k with 933 entries across all three flights. There is still more than an hour left to enter 1c, so there’s a good chance the combined total will be at around 1,000 by the end of entries.
-
240 Entries to Start Level 4
Level: 4 (300/500/500) Entries: 216/240 (300/857) Prizes: $79,200 ($282,810 total) Level 4 has just begun with 240 entries on the board and 216 players still in action. That brings the 3-flight total to 857 entries for combined prizes of more than $280k.
Registration for 1c is open until the start of Level 9, which should be around 8:30 pm tonight, so there is still lots of time for the numbers to grow.
-
More than 200 Entries
Level: 3 (200/400/400) Entries: 220/220 (323/837) Prizes: $72,600 ($276,210 total) Day 1c is in Level 3 now with the field over 200 entries. Registration is open until the start of Level 9, so there is still lots of time for these numbers to grow
-
101 Entries to Start 1c
Level: 1 (100/200/200) Entries: 101/101 (249/718) Prizes: $33,330 ($236,940 total) The third of four flights for the 4-Flight is now underway with action happening in the Chrome room at Deerfoot Inn & Casino. The game kicked off with 101 entries on the board, but I expect that number to be in the 400 range or more before the end of the night.
Last Jan, this flight got 418 entries, though this year 1a and 1b have been a bit smaller than last year. I still expect to see this flight beat 1b’s number of 378, so 400+ seems like a reasonable bet. Entries remain open in 1c until about 8:30 tonight, with entries closing at the start of Level 9.

Friday is Four-Flight Day – Day 1c

Day 1d is Complete with 29 Remaining
Level: 19 (10000/15000/15000) Entries: 29/563 (81/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) The final flight to the 4-Flight is now complete with 29 players left. The day ended with 56 seconds remaining in Level 19, so Day 2 will restart at the 1b finish time of 21 minutes remaining in Level 18.
I’ll have the chip counts shortly for the 1d players, and the Day 2 prizes, along with seat assignments, should be posted in an hour or so. Meanwhile, below is a full look at the cashing players from Day 1d.

Level: 18 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 36/563 (88/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) The final table break of Day 1d has just occurred with the field down to 36 players now. The next break would be at 27, but the bags will come out at 29, so it’s now a race to the early end.

Level: 17 (5000/10000/10000) Entries: 39/563 (91/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) Flight 1d is now down to 39 players left in the action with about 5 minutes to play in Level 17. That puts them 10 players away from an early end to the night with three more levels on the schedule before the hard stop, so it seems likely the night will end early.
1d Payouts Since Last Update
Place Player Prize 40 Evan Chen $987 41 Shariq Khan $987 42 Yu(Alex) Liu $987 43 Justin Joson $987 44 Yan Chouinard $987 45 Manfred Gunther $901 -

Level: 16 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 45/563 (97/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) The 1d players are on their final break of the day now with 45 players left in the action. That puts them 16 eliminations away from the bags coming out early when they return for Level 17 in about 10 minutes.

Level: 16 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 53/563 (105/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) The 1d field is down to 53 players now with Level 16 just underway. They’ll go for the final break of the night following this level, and it looks like they’ll be within 20 players of the early bags when they hit the break. See below for payouts since my last update.

Level: 14 (3000/5000/5000) Entries: 71/563 (123/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) The numbers are dropping in 1d with 71 players left in the action now. Level 14 has about 5 minutes left to play with the final break of the day scheduled following Level 16.
Based on the current pace, it looks like the bags will probably come out in Level 19, but there’s a lot of poker to play between now and then. See below for the payouts since my last update.
Place Player Prize 71 Michael St.Pierre-Porter $803 72 Jason Livingston $803 73 Mikaela Gauthier $803 74 Bryan Truong $803 75 Mohammad Feizi $803 76 Cory Breland $803 77 Juan(Sebastien) Lamprea $803 78 Aaron Patton $803 79 David Kumar $803 -

In the Money
Level: 14 (3000/5000/5000) Entries: 84/563 (136/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) The bubble lasted three hands and they are now in the money with 84 players left in the game. There’s a bit of a rush on the payout desk right now, so I’ll publish a list of cashing players shortly once the line reduces.
-
Bubble Time
Level: 13 (20004/4000/4000) Entries: 86/563 (138/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) They are on the bubble now with 86 players left in the game. The clock is now paused with 5:45 remaining in Level 13, and they’ll manually drop the clock by two minutes for every hand played.
-
Back from Dinner
Level: 13 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 94/563 (146/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) .They are back from dinner now with 94 players left in the game so it looks likely that the bubble will come sometime in this level.
-
100 Players Left on Dinner
Level: 12 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 100/563 (152/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) They are 15 off the money as the dinner break kicks off. They’ll come back in about 40 minutes to 2k/4k/4k action in Level 13 with the average stack at a bit less than 30 big blinds.
With only 15 to go until the money, it seems likely the bubble will come late in Level 13 or early Level 14 and from there, it will be a race to 29 players or the end of Level 20, whichever comes first.
-
Down to 117 Left
Level: 12 (2000/3000/3000) Entries: 117/563 (169/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) They are down to 13 tables left in action now with about 10 minutes to play in Level 12. The 45-minute dinner break is scheduled at the end of this level, so it looks like the bubble will come sometime after dinner. It’s likely the numbers will still drop a bit in the next 10 minutes, but they’ll still likely be ~20 off the money when dinner begins.

Day 1d Prizes are In
Level: 11 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 153/563 (205/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) The numbers are now official with 563 entries recorded for Day 1d, putting the event total at 1,565. That puts the combined prizes at $516,450 and the full Day 2 prizes should be published before the end of the night.
Day 1d got $185,790 in total prizes and $49,684 of that us set to be handed out tonight with the rest moving to tomorrow’s Day 2 prizes. Prizes will start getting paid out at 85th place, and at least 29 players will bag chips for Day 2.
Day 1d Payouts

Down to 171
Level: 10 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 171/563 (223/1,565) Prizes: $185,790 ($516,450 total) It looks like the number crunching turned up one fewer entries than previously recorded, with the 1d field now showing 563. I’m still waiting for the prize pool for confirmation of the numbers, but the difference doesn’t really change much about the end of the night or qualifying players.
Stay tuned for final confirmation of the numbers, but the remaining field is now down to 171 players left with about 15 minutes to play in Level 10.
-
Day 1d Entries Top Out at 564
Level: 9 (1000/1500/1500) Entries: 234/564 (286/1,566) Prizes: $186,120 ($516,780 total) Entries are now closed for Day 1d of the 4-Flight and the final field is set. Deerfoot staff are still crunching the numbers to verify the prizes today, but it looks like 564 entries today made for a grand total of 1,566 and prizes of $516,780.
Today’s players will be playing for a share of $186,120 collected today, and it looks like 85 players will figure in the cash with at least 28 moving through to tomorrow’s final day. I’ll confirm all the numbers when the Day 1d prizes are posted, and I should have a look at the Day 2 payouts shortly as well.

25 Minutes to Go in Entry
Level: 8 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 251/534 (303/1,536) Prizes: $176,220 ($506,880 total) There are just over 10 minutes to play in Level 8 with the final break of registration scheduled after this level. That means there are about 25 minutes left to enter the 4-Flight. The current field across all starting flights is 1,536 for combined prizes of $506,880. Those numbers will likely still increase a bit over the next 25 minutes or so, and I’ll post an update once Level 9 begins.
-
Final Level of Entry
Level: 8 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 256/515 (308/1,517) Prizes: $169,950 ($500,610 total) The prize pool is now over $500k across all four flights with 512 entries on the board for 1d. That puts the total field so far at 1,514, but there are still about 40 minutes left to enter this final flight.
There are now just over 20 minutes to play in Level 8.
-
Closing in on 1,500 Entries
Level: 6 (400/800/800) Entries: 254/462 (306/1,464) Prizes: $152,460 ($483,120 total) The final flight is well underway now with action in Level 6. There are about 15 minutes to play in that level with two more entry levels before it all shuts down.
The 1d field is now ate 462 entries with ~254 players still in play. That puts the combined field at 1,464 and climbing. It looks pretty likely the field today will cap 500 entries for a total of more than 1,500 entries with another 90 minutes or so to enter the game.
Kim Pham, Tang Jooce, George Mounsef, Shawn Sperber, Jacob Parent, Mike Malm, Laurence Louie, and Black Chip Bounty winner Jordan Banfield are among the players in action today.

Final Flight to the 4-Flight Now Boarding
Event 4: $400 4-Flight ($330 + $70) Date: Day 1a: Jan 9 – 4 PM
Day 1b: Jan 10 – 11 AM
Day 1c: Jan 10 – 4 PM
Day 1d: Jan 11 – 11 AM
Day 2: Jan 12 – 1 pmBlinds: 30 Minutes Starting Stack: 20k Late Entry: 8 Levels (~3:45) Day 1 Ends: Level 20 (or %5 of the field) Bash Ramahi is the stack to beat for 1d players on Saturday. He is the only stack bigger than 800k after bagging the 1c and overall lead tonight.
The 1d action gets going at 11 am and it promises to be a big one. The numbers for this year’s event have been slightly lower than last year, but 1d still promises to be the biggest of the lot, with 400+ entries a solid bet. So far the field is at 1,002 from the first three flights, so 1d needs to be truly stupendous to beat the Jan 2024 field of 1,715, but last year, 1d was 50% bigger than 1c. If that increase holds for this year, it will mean a total field approaching 1,600 entries.
I’ll likely be a bit late to the floor for this one, but will be focused here for the day once I get in.

Tyler Panas Wins First Ring in 4-Flight
Tyler Panas picked up his first circuit ring tonight after taking down the 4-Flight. He survived a bit of a rollercoaster final table that saw the chip lead move around a lot.
Panas was actually short for much of the final table but he jumped into the lead in part thanks to a huge hold in a race against Evan Casey. Panas had Casey covered and sent him to the rail in third when his nines held over the ace-queen.
That gave Panas a big lead going into heads up, and it didn’t take long for them to find a cooler to get it all in. In the final hand, runner-up Eyal Pevzner raised to 600k, then called off Panas’ shove with queen-jack, only to run into ace-king. The big slick held on a board that saw both players hit the flop.
Panas had an excellent 2024 with 14 cashes including one win as well as runner-up in a PPT Main Event. He put $130k in winnings onto his Hendon Mob page in 2024, and it looks like his 2025 is off to a roaring start as well.

Eyal Pevzner Out in 2nd Place for $46,703
Level: 32 (150000/300000/300000) Entries: 1/1565 Prizes: $516,450 The game wasn’t heads up for very long tonight as they found a bit of a cooler early on. Tyler Panas got to the final phase with the chip lead, and he never surrendered it. After a couple of hands with no showdown, Eyal Pevzner raised to 600k, then called off when Panas shoved.
Pevzner was on queen-jack, but Panas was premium with ace-king. Both players hit the flop on the board of A♣Q♥4♣5♠3♥ but Panas hit it hardest and held.
-
Evan Casey Out in 3rd Place for $32,885
Level: 32 (150000/300000/300000) Entries: 2/1565 Prizes: $516,450 They are down to two left now in the 4-Flight after Ryal Pevzner raised to 600k, Evan Casey shoved, and Tyler Panas reshoved. That pushed Pevzner out of the hand, and it was a race between pocket nines for Panas and ace-queen for Casey. The nines held on a dry board for the overcards and Casey was out in 3rd place.

Colin Burton Out in 4th Place for $23,554
Level: 32 (150000/300000/300000) Entries: 4/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Colin Burton grabbed a double through Eyal Pezner when his threes held against ace-king, but that didn’t last long for him. The next hand he shoved pocket fours but ran into jacks and couldn’t find any help to hit the rail in 4th place.
-
Caleb Simmons Out in 5th Place for $17,165
Level: 31 (150000/250000/250000) Entries: 4/1565 Prizes: $516,450 There are four players left in the 4-Flight now after Caleb Simmons hit the rail in 5th place. I missed the action while I was cleaning up some of the HORSE end-of-day action.

Pevzner Gets a Double
Level: 31 (150000/250000/250000) Entries: 5/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Eyal Pevzner shoved under the gun and it folded around to Tyler Panas in the big blind. He tanked for a bit before calling the 2.5 million shove.
Eyal Pevzner: Pocket Threes
Tyler Panas: A♠7♠Pavzner was hoping to get it through and sweated the 6♠4♥2♠4♦K♠ but was able to hold for the win.
-
Simmons Finds the Call
Level: 30 (100000/200000/200000) Entries: 6/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Colin Burton called from the small blind, then called again when Caleb Simmons raised the big blind to 600k. The flop came 3♣6♠K♣ and Burton check-raised from 325k to 1.1 million.
Simmons called to the 8♦ turn where they both checked through to the J♣ river. Burton fired 2 million and Simmons hit the tank for about a minute before finally calling.
Burton showed A♣9♠ against K♠J♠ for Simmons. “When I saw the ace of clubs I thought you had it,” Simmons said after realizing his two pair was ahead.
-
Panas Has It
Level: 30 (100000/200000/200000) Entries: 5/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Tyler Panas opened to 500k from the button, and Evan Casey defended his big blind. They both checked the 10♥9♣A♠ flop and Casey led for 475k on the 7♣ turn.
Panas called to the 3♥ and after a check from Casey fired 750k into the middle. Casey tanked for a bit before calling, but he mucked his hand when Panas showed A♥Q♥ for the win.
-
Shane Kozniuk Out in 6th Place for $12,732
Level: 30 (100000/200000/200000) Entries: 5/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Shane (Roy) Kozniuk flopped a pair with his ace-eight, but he ran into pocket aces for Colin Burton. The aces held through the turn and river and Kozniuk was out in 6th place.

Level: 29 (100000/150000/150000) Entries: 6/1565 Prizes: $516,450 I’ve been a bit bust getting the Seniors final table sorted out so I missed some action on the 4-Flight final table. Steve Dejarlais and Josh Myers have exited the game in 8th and 7th places respectively.
-

Pieter Kobben Out in 10th Place for $4,626
Level: 28 (60000/120000/120000) Entries: 9/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Pieter Kobben came into Day 2 with the chip lead and he made it as far as the final table, but he was the first one off once they got ten-handed. In the big confrontation, he doubled up Josh Myers when he shoved into Myers aces’ with eights and couldn’t get there.
That left him short and the rest went in the following hand with king-ten for Kobben against ace-six suited for Tyler Panas. Panas turned an ace for insurance and sent the start-of-day leader to the rail in 10th place.

Down to 11
Level: 28 (60000/120000/120000) Entries: 11/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Mason St. Martin just hit the rail for 12th place today ($3,766) after a big confrontation with chip leader Colin Burton. St. Martin raised preflop under the gun and Burton called from the big blind. It all went off on the flop of [invalid notations] smashed the trip eights for the win after the rest of the board bricked out for the overpair.
-
Shuali Shoves Turn
Level: 28 (60000/120000/120000) Entries: 12/1565 Prizes: $516,450 It was blind on blind when Matt Hall limped the small and Kali Shuali checked her option in the big. They both checked the 6♥A♥7♥ flop but Hall led for 125k on the A♠ turn. Shuali took a second before announcing all in for a smaller stack than Hall, but Hall elected to fold showing a 6♦ as he did.

Burton Leads at Break
Level: 26 (40000/80000/80000 Entries: 14/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Colin Burton is the leader at the dinner break with almost 4 million. Full stacks are below.

Dejarlais Sends Hauser to Rail
Level: 26 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 15/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Kali Shuali opened the action from the cutoff to 180k before Cory Hauser shoved his button for about 1.3 million. Big blind Steve Dejarlais hit the tank for a bit before reshoving for a bit more, while Shuali snap-mucked.
Hauser was on Q♥9♥ against pocket queens for Dejarlais and the queens held to send Hauser to the rail in 16th place.
Meanwhile, on the other table, Colin Burton picked up some dead money after he shoved his big blind over a raise to 200k from Tyler Panas in the middle, forcing Panas to fold.
They are now five minutes from the dinner break when I’ll get a good look at all the stacks in play.
-
Katzov Gets There
Level: 26 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 17/1565 Prizes: $516,450 Josh Myers opened to 160k from the middle before big blind David Katzov shoved. Myers called it off with more and looked to be in good shape with ace-king over ace-queen. Poker had other ideas, however, and Katzov spiked both an ace and a queen on the flop, boating up with another queen on the turn for the win.
“I don’t know how I can lose ace-king into ace-queen so often,” Myers said as he was counting out the double. Day 2 will be going on a dinner break following this level, and I’ll grab full chip counts then for all remaining players.

More than $1 Million in Prizes So Far
Level: 21 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 58/165 Prizes: $516,450 The Day 2 players are back in their seats for the first level at 45 minutes. I’ve just been collating the data from all the events so far, and the series has already capped $1 million in total prizes without even considering the Seniors and HORSE games set to run today. With those included, it’s likely that the total prizes at the end of Sunday will be in the range of $1.4 million or more with the Seniors field closing in on $175k in prizes.
It remains to be seen how the turnout will be in the final week of the series starting tomorrow, but it’s still looking pretty good to meet or beat the 2024 Jan total of $5.8 million.
