It was a Sunday for the ages at the Manchester235 Casino. After five superb days of live poker, it was time for the penultimate day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester. Of course, the final day of the £500 Main Event was the star of the show. The final table was set, and the nine brave warriors were set to return at 14:00 local time to battle it out for eternal poker glory, a £21,303 first-place payout, and the coveted PartyPoker trophy. All presumptions for a thrilling day of poker were in place, and the final day of the event did not disappoint.

    One Last Dance

With total of 243 entries and a £107,248 prize pool, PartyPoker should be very pleased with the numbers of the Main Event in Manchester. It had been a stellar tournament from the very beginning; all that was left now, was for a winner to be crowned.

The final nine players took their seats at the final table, and the legendary phrase “Shuffle up and deal” was delivered by the floor. From the very start, it became evident that all players had their eyes on the trophy; everyone dipped their toes in the water for the first hour, and it was kind of a slow start where everyone tried to figure out the styles of play for the opponents.

Then, fireworks went off. The first two players to be eliminated, Julian Mosquera and Jonathan Hanley, both went out in the same hand against Ronnie Marland, who became the chip leader in the process. That one particular hand almost felt like the starting point of the final table, and things only ramped up from there.

    Ion Oprea. Photo: PartyPoker
    Ion Oprea. Photo: PartyPoker

One of the players, Ion Oprea, was looking to write the story of the event. Not only was he apparent on the final table, but he also won the £150 Mini Main Event earlier in the weekend. He was going for back-to-back wins, and he got one step closer as he eliminated James O’Brien in seventh place. With his newly won chips, he would climb to second place in the chip counts, only trailing Marland.

Oprea wasn’t slowing down. Instead, he put the pedal to the metal, and eventually, he scored his second knockout, as he sent Gerard Harraghy to the rail in sixth place. Things were looking good for Oprea; in fact, PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples took a stroll past the final table, and acknowledged that Oprea is having “one good week”.

    Natalie Bromley. Photo: PartyPoker
    Natalie Bromley. Photo: PartyPoker

At this point, there were still two PartyPoker Tour Team Ambassadors on the final table – Alexander Georgiev and Natalie Bromley. Bromley would be the next casualty, though, as an unfortunate runout would see her pocket sevens be counterfeited against Marland. With Bromley out, it would be up to Georgiev if a PartyPoker ambassador were to win the tournament.

Then came what was arguably the most important moment of the final table. Georgiev and Marland, the two biggest stacks by a fine margin, clashed all in against each other pre-flop. Georgiev was ahead all the way up until the river, but an unfortunate ace eliminated him in brutal fashion. As he exited the tournament in fourth place, Marland became a big chip leader.

With only Marland, Ohran, and Oprea left, the tension was high. It’s an educated guess that the big pay jumps played their part in the atmosphere spreading across the table. Marland was the chip leader when three-handed play commenced, but Ohran managed to snag a few pots here and there, and eventually, he was back on top of the rankings, in the same place where he started the day.

    Ronnie Marland. Photo: PartyPoker

Oprea had become the shortest stack of the three, and eventually, he made a call for his tournament life against Marland that proved to be wrong. Even though he didn’t manage to snag two titles, Oprea should be very proud of his achievements during the Manchester event.

The heads-up between Marland and Ohran was intriguing. Both players had more or less equally large stacks, and they traded some pots here and there. Eventually, they agreed to a deal. Both locked up £16,235, and they continued to play for an extra £3,608 and the trophy.

Not too long after a firm handshake had sealed the deal, Ohran raised Marland all in on a J4K4 board. Marland made the call, and when the dust had settled, Ohran was declared the winner of the hand. Marland survived with less than one Big Blind, and after surviving one forced all in-encounter, he eventually came up short. That settled it; Deniz Ohran, being the chip leader going into Day 3, had won the Main Event, the £19,843 first-place payout, and the PartyPoker trophy.

Quite the impressive feat from Orhan. He had won three packages for the PartyPoker Tour through online qualifiers, and he only had to use one bullet in the Main Event. That means that he still has two left; most likely, he’ll put them to good use in the upcoming PartyPoker Tour stops.

Overall, the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester was a great event, and it most definitely lived up to the standard that was set in London a few weeks before. This is still only the beginning of PartyPoker’s return to the live poker scene, though. August 12-17, the tour will move on to Glasgow. No doubt will it be another stellar event by PartyPoker, and being the official media partner, poker.pro is thrilled to be along for the ride.

Deniz Orhan attempted to limp from the Button, but Ronnie Marland raised to 485,000. Orhan wasn’t going anywhere just yet, and he made the call.

Marland continued the aggressive path on the J4K flop and bet 365,000. Orhan called, and the 4 was dealt on the turn. Marland now bet 855,000, and after a minute or two in the tank. Orhan moved all in for around 5,700,000. After some consideration, Marland made the call.

    Deniz Orhan: A4
    Ronnie Marland: KJ

“What a lovely turn,” Orhan stated, and the 5 didn’t see Marland re-take the lead. Orhan won the biggest pot of the day, and Marland was left with just 135,000 – less than one Big Blind.

Being forced all in, Marland managed to survive the next hand with K10 against the J6 of Orhan. The following hand he was pot committed and more or less had to get it all in there.

    Deniz Orhan: J8
    Ronnie Marland: 53

The 872JK runout sealed Marland’s faith. He was eliminated in second place for £16,235; even though it may hurt coming up short, Marland should be very pleased with his performance.

Both players checked the K52 flop. Marland bet 280,000 on the 3 turn, and Orhan called. On the 6 river, Marland sized up to 385,000. Orhan leaned back in his chair and sighed heavily. It was apparent he wasn’t a big fan of the river. Nevertheless, he did make the call.

Orhan check-called a 325,000 bet from Marland on the 7K10 flop. Both players checked the 8 turn. On the 3 river, Orhan fired 450,000. Marland snap-called.

Marland looked disgusted when Orhan turned over K3 for the rivered two pair. As the dealer pushed the chips towards Orhan, Marland revealed the K, indicating that he had Orhan beat up until the river.

Action was checked to Marland on the 58K flop, who continued for 320,000. Oprea made the call before Orhan folded.

Oprea check-called a 725,000 bet from Marland on the 3 turn. On the 4 river, Oprea checked again, and Marland now forced his opponent all in for roughly 2,300,000. Oprea spent a minute or two contemplating, and eventually, he made the call.

    Ronnie Marland: K5
    Ion Oprea: 108

There won’t be any “Sunshine Double” for Oprea; the Mini Main Event winner will have to settle with a third place in the Main for £10,200. It’s safe to say that Oprea had a good week at the Manchester235 Casino.

The stage is now set for a Heads-up battle between Marland and Orhan, with Marland holding the chip lead.

First to act, Oprea checked on the Q109 flop. Orhan forced his opponent all in for 1,195,000, and Oprea snap-called.

    Deniz Orhan: Q7
    Ion Oprea: J10

Oprea was on the verge of elimination, but he took the lead as the turn came 10. The 3 didn’t change anything, and the shortstack doubled up.

The flop came 623 and Orhan checked. Marland continued for 245,000, and within a second, Orhan announced he was all in for 3,025,000. Marland twisted and turned for a minute before he decided to fold.

Back to Marland, who didn’t take too long before forcing his opponent all in for 3,515,000. After a minute’s worth of consideration, Georgiev made the call. In other words, it was an all-in clash between the two chip leaders, with 7,000,000 in the middle.

    Alexander Georgiev: 1010

It felt like everyone at the Manchester235 Casino gathered around the table; this was a big one. Georgiev took the lead on the J89 flop. Things still looked good on the 4 river; only a ten or an ace would eliminate Georgiev.

Manchester235 let out a collective “whoah” as the A fell on the river. Georgiev, the last PartyPoker Tour Team Ambassador left in the mix, was out in fourth place for £6,860. Ronnie Marland now holds a commanding chip lead.

    Ronnie Marland: Q10
    Natalie Bromley: 77

Bromley took the lead on the 3AK flop, and picked up a flush draw to go with her pair. The dealer revealed the K on the turn. “Ace of hearts,” Marland yelled, before the dealer had dealt the river. His prayers were answered, and the A river meant that Bromley was counterfeited. Oprea was visibly uncomfortable, faced with a tough decision. He twisted and turned, and urged to Harraghy to show if he folded. Harraghy was quiet as a rock. Eventually, Oprea folded.

“Show me one,” Oprea begged Harraghy. “For 500,” Harraghy answered, before Oprea threw a 5,000 tournament chip to his opponent. “Quid,” Harraghy declared. No deal!

The second-to-last day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester was highlighted by Day 2 of the £500 Main Event. 62 players returned from the various Day 1 flights, all ready to battle it out for a place on the final table. It was a marathon poker session that brought a lot of action and entertainment. What’s more, two PartyPoker Tour Team Ambassadors managed to secure a spot to the finale.

    10 Action-Packed Hours

The decks appeared to be hot on the Saturday at the Manchester235 Casino; right from the get-go, there were some big hands, and they often resulted in some players busting. Since the players were not yet in the money, it’s understandable some people took some shots, trying to build up a bigger stack.

    Aleksander Georgiev. Photo: PartyPoker

One of the most impressive plays during the earlier stages of Day 2, arguably, was when Alexander Georgiev called down the villain all the way with ace-high. Georgiev, perhaps more known as “Wishiper96”, had a fairly decent stack most of Day 2.

Play eventually reached the bubble stage in the most brutal fashion possible, as Nathaniel Sheperley did an amazing call on the turn, but in the end, he was eliminated as his opponent hit a flush on the river. Hand-for-hand play commenced, and eventually, it was Stephen Blow who exited in place 39, meaning the remaining 38 competitors all were guaranteed a £1,000 min-cash.

Amongst those who claimed the minimum prize was Sam Acheampong. The all-so-charming Acheampong was the first out of the four PartyPoker Tour Team Ambassadors in Day 2 to bust out, even though getting all his chips in good. Not too long after that, his team member Asif Warris made him company, as he was eliminated in place 24. Natalie Bromley, though, managed to survive a few all-in encounters and eventually worked her way up to a decent stack.

    Natalie Bromley. Photo: PartyPoker

Georgiev then took a blow, as he lost a large chunk of his stack to Deniz Orhan, despite having his opponent in rough shape pre-flop. Shortly after that, he got his 14 Big Blinds all in the middle against Julian Mosquera and managed to double up, despite having “too many outs” on the turn.

A few moments later, during the later stages of Level 21, Orhan eliminated Lewis Day in tenth place, which meant that play was done for the day. The remaining nine players bagged their chips after a long day; some of them had come through the Day 1d turbo flight and were closing in on 13 hours of play on Saturday. Hopefully, they had a good rest and are all ready for the final table today at 14:00 UK time.

After quadrupling up from 20,000 to 80,000 the hand before, Sam Acheampong got his stack all in.

    Sam Acheampong: 99
    Mr. X: 44

“Hoooooold,” Acheampong urged the poker gods. They didn’t listen; he was trailing on the 487 flop. “This is disgusting,” he roared. He picked up some additional outs on the 10 turn, but the 2 on the river ended his tournament life. The charismatic PartyPoker Tour Ambassador cashed for £1,000.

Stephen Blow was all in pre-flop with perhaps 50,000. He was called by two players, one of them being Savvas Tsochataridis.

After action was checked to Tsochataridis by “Mr. X” on the 78J flop, he continued for 40,000. Mr. X folded, and Tsochataridis was Heads-up against Blow.

    Stephen Blow: A10
    Savvas Tsochataridis: KJ

Tsochataridis was ahead, but Blow had some outs. Board bricked out for him, though, as it completed 88.

That means that the remaining 38 players are now all in the money, guaranteed a £1,000 min-cash.

For perhaps 20 minutes, the bubble has been reached. Such, hand-by-hand play is now in full swing.’

The bubble was reached in brutal fashion. There were roughly 180,000 in the middle on a 874K board, and Nathaniel Sheperley had bet 100,000. Then, Ronnie Marland forced him all in for 380,000 in total. After a few minutes’ worth of consideration, Sheperley made the call.

    Ronnie Marland: AJ
    Nathaniel Sheperley: QQ

“Wow, what a call, whatever happens that was a great call,” the table saluted Sheperley. It was a weak consolation as the 3 on the river ended his tournament life.

Poleszczuk check-called a 33,000 bet from Arnott on the K river.

Arnott turned over AK; it was good as Poleszczuk mucked his hand.

Action was checked to Li on the 4JA, who bet 15,000. O’Brien and Hanley both made the call, before Macsen folded.

All three players checked the Q turn. Action repeated itself on the 7 river.

First to act, Li checked on the 7A6 flop. Vargas bet 20,000, and Li made the call. The turn was the 5, and Li checked again, prior to Vargas betting 30,000. After a minute’s worth of consideration, Li put in a raise to 62,000, leaving himself with only 15,000 behind. Vargas took his time before forcing his opponent all in. Li made the call as fast as humanly possible.

Pre-flop, Georgiev was faced with a three-bet and decided to only call with AK. On the 227 flop, he called a 15,000 bet. His opponent continued for 45,000 on the 5 turn, and Georgiev called again.

  • 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester Day 4: Oprea Claims Maiden Title as he Ships £150 Mini Main Event

The £150 Mini Main Event was always destined to be one of the most popular tournaments during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester. During the London stop a few weeks ago (which was PartyPoker’s official return to the live poker scene), the Mini Main Event attracted no fewer than 866 entries. 418 entries in Manchester was a good number, considering the Manchester235 Casino is a somewhat smaller venue compared to the Genting Casino (former Aspers).

The three-day tournament would conclude on Saturday, with 18 players returning from Friday’s Day 2 flight. It would prove to be an entertaining finale to the tournament; the final table was especially thrilling, with one early call setting the tone for the remainder of the play.

One Call to Rule Them All

Again, it was the third day of the tournament, and when the 18 players arrived to the tables at 18:00, many of them were going for broke. The payout at the time was £515, and it was evident that most of the players wanted to compete for top dollar. Chips were flying back and forth; everyone tried to build a big stack to have a realistic shot at claiming the £9,605 first-place payout.

    Hady Sirbu. Photo: PartyPoker

Such, it didn’t take too long before the final table of nine players was set. This is really when things started to get interesting. Something that didn’t go unnoticed was the aggression of Hady Sirbu. He was going for the win, and he applied pressure as soon as his opponents would slow down. Would his explosive strategy prove to be a vital key for success?

The first one to go was William Folwell. He was one of the smaller stacks entering the final table, and in a Blind VS Blind battle, he came up short against Ryan Wyvill. Things may not have gone how he wanted them to, but finishing ninth out of 418 is still an impressive feat.

Shortly thereafter, the table would witness a sublime call that would prove to be crucial for the rest of the story. It was Ion Oprea who snap-called a shove from Sirbu on a very scary board. Considering both players had fairly big stacks at the moment, Oprea took a commanding chip lead. Sirbu, however, was left short, and he was eliminated the very next hand. Thus, the arguably most aggressive player was out in eighth place.

Ryan Wyvill during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester. Photo: PartyPoker
    Ryan Wyvill. Photo: PartyPoker

When the remaining seven players went on break, players such as Wyvill and Daniel Keiller had managed to close the gap to Opera. The player at the bottom of the rankings at this point was the sole lady at the table, Marta Porter. Shortly after the break, Porter managed to double up through Goonjan Mall, even though she was dominated. Crippled from the bad beat, Mall became the next casualty as he lost a flip against Oprea.

While Oprea continued to be involved in a fair amount of pots, players like Matthew Archer were biding their time. Archer waited patiently and finally got the right opportunity to get his stack in the middle. Much to his despair, Ryan Cox flopped quads to eliminate him in sixth place.

    Matthew Archer. Photo: PartyPoker

This hand drastically improved Cox’s stack, and he was now a real contender for the title. Unfortunately for him, though, he lost it all against Oprea in what most likely was the bad beat of the final table. Entering four-handed play, Oprea now held roughly 50 % of the chips in play.

Seated next to each other, Wyvill and Keiller would have some internal battles, trading chips back and forth. Eventually, Keiller managed to crack the aces of Wyvill and send him to the rail. Three players remained, then: Keiller, Oprea, and Porter. Porter had proved to be a cat with nine lives; don’t get it twisted, she played some great poker, picking just the right spots to be aggressive, but she managed to survive three times on the final table despite being dominated.

Daniel Keiller, Ion Oprea, and Marta Porter during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester. Photo: PartyPoker
Daniel Keiller, Ion Oprea, and Marta Porter. Photo: PartyPoker

After some pots here and there, the chip stacks between the three evened out, and they all agreed to a deal. They continued to play for £1,385 and, of course, the beautiful PartyPoker trophy. Keiller would not get his hand on the statuette, though, as he was eliminated in third place against Oprea. At the start of Heads-up play against Porter, Oprea held a 2-to-1 chip lead.

And then, eventually, came the nail in the coffin. The A2 of Oprea was good enough to beat the K3 of Porter. When lifting the trophy, Oprea’s joy couldn’t be mistaken for anything else. It was his first-ever trophy, and what’s remarkable is that he barely lost his chip lead after his impressive call against Sirbu during the early stages of the tournament.

By the looks of it, Porter is now the chip leader, despite being very short at the earlier stages of the final table.

Seated in the Small Blind, Ryan Wyvill raised to 600,000. Daniel Keiller called from the Big Blind.

First to act on the K108 flop, Wyvill checked. Keiller then bet 600,000, before Wyvill went all in for 3,080,000. Keiller snap-called.

    Ryan Wyvill: AA
    Daniel Keiller: K8

Were aces about to be cracked? Yes, the answer would turn out to be. The board completed with 58, and Wyvill was left short.

The next hand, Wyvill went all in for 495,000 from the Button. Keiller called from the Small Blind, as did Ion Oprea, seated in the Big Blind.

Keiller and Oprea both checked the 10410 flop. The turn was the Q; Keiller now bet 400,000, and Oprea folded.

    Ryan Wyvill: A5
    Daniel Keiller: Q8

The river bricked out, and Wyvill was eliminated in fourth place for £3,075.

    Ryan Wyvill: QJ
    Daniel Keiller: AK

Keiller was ahead, but the Q5774 board favored Wyvill. For the second time in a short period of time, he doubled through Keiller.

Wyvill fired a 240,000 continuation bet on the J57 flop. Keiller called, and the dealer revealed the 7 on the turn. Action went check-check, and the river was the 10. Now, Wyvill went all in for 1,330,000. After a minute’s worth of consideration, Keiller made the call.

    Ryan Wevill: KK
    Daniel Keiller: Q5

Action folded to Ryan Cox, who raised to 320,000 from the Button. Seated in the Small Blind, Ion Oprea raised to 1,025,000. Back to Cox who moved all in for north of 3,000,000. Oprea snap-called.

    Ryan Cox: KK
    Ion Oprea: AK

Cox had Oprea in rough shape, but as we all know, poker can be a brutal game sometimes. The 53A69 runout ended Cox’s tournament life, and Oprea’s already impressive stack grew even bigger. For his feat, Cox was awarded £2,160.

    Goonjan Mall: A7
    Marta Porter: Q7

When the sole lady at the table saw te bad news, it was time for “the Marta Porter Show”. “Oh no,” “Nice playing with you guys,” “cya later,”… she was halfway down the stairs. It worked, though; she was the one who emerged victorious on the 3QJ4J board.

UTG, Ion Oprea raised to 210,000. Action folded to Ryan Wyvill in the Cut-off, who raised to 575,000. Action folded back to Oprea who made the call.

Both players checked the 10102 flop. On the 3 turn, Oprea bet 450,000, and Wyvill made the call.

The river was the 8. Oprea looked really tempted to fire a large bet, but eventually, he opted for the check. Wyvill checked back immediately.

Oprea wasn’t pleased to see the AK holdings of Wyvill; had he pulled the trigger on the river, perhaps he could have made his opponent fold. Needless to say, Wyvill won the hand, which was the last one before a 20-minute break.

Oprea continued for 260,000 on the 249 flop, and Sirbu called faster than the speed of lightning. Oprea sized up to 575,000 on the 5 turn, and again, Sirbu called as fast as humanly possible.

The river was the 6. Oprea now checked, and Sirbu wasted little time going all in. The whole table gasped as Oprea snap-called.

    Hady Sirbu: 75
    Ion Oprea: JJ

An utterly impressive call from Oprea under pressure. He claimed the chip lead, while Sirbu was left with only one Big Blind.

After Porter checked on the 2AJ flop, Archer fired a 275,000 continuation bet. Oprea and Porter both folded, which meant that Archer and Sirbu went to showdown.

    Hady Sirbu: 74
    Matthew Archer: AK

    Ion Oprea: A2
    Marta Porter: K3

The 4Q108Q board sealed Porter’s faith. She was eliminated in second place; even though it always hurts coming up short, she can’t be too sad about taking home £5,500.

By the looks of it, Porter is now the chip leader, despite being very short at the earlier stages of the final table.

Oprea wasn’t pleased to see the AK holdings of Wyvill; had he pulled the trigger on the river, perhaps he could have made his opponent fold. Needless to say, Wyvill won the hand, which was the last one before a 20-minute break.

The flop came 1065. Sirbu continued for 225,000, and Porter made the call. On the 6 turn, Sirbu looked into the eyes of Porter and said, “I think this is my spot”. Then, he moved all in for roughly 1,000,000. Porter snap-folded.

Sirbu told us that his holdings were A7.

    Hady Sirbu: 1,900,000
    Marta Porter: 1,150,000

  • That’s not Right for Wright

    Level 23:20,000/40,000 (40,000)
    Entries:13/418
    Prizes:£52,710

From the Hi-jack, Andrew Wright went all in for roughly 420,000. Ryan Wyvill called him off from the Cut-off.

    Andrew Wright: Q9
    Ryan Wyvill: AK

Wright had two live ones, but his chances drastically went down on the K102 flop. He had some outs on the Q turn, but the 10 wasn’t one of them. Such, he busted out in position 14, cashing £615.

    Ryan Wivill: 1,950,000
    Andrew Wright: 0

From the Small Blind, Frederic Jones-Morton opened to 80,000. Hady Sirbu went all in for roughly 700,000 from the Big Blind. Jones-Morton made the call without any hesitation.

    Hady Sirbu: A2
    Frederic Jones-Morton: KK

Things looked good for Jones-Morton, and the J74 flop didn’t bring a scare. The A wasn’t his preferred turn card, though. The river bricked out, and Sirbu doubled up.

There have been a few hands since then; the players’ stack sizes are what they are currently playing, not what they had straight after the hand.

    Hady Sirbu: 1,300,000
    Frederic Jones-Morton: 560,000

Hady Sirbu decided only to call the 40,000 Big Blind from UTG. Then, Marta Porter raised to 160,000 from the Hi-jack. Things didn’t slow down from there, as Livanos Georgious moved all in for 830,000.

Action folded back to Sirbu, who spent perhaps three minutes in the tank before folding. Porter then asked for a count, and when the numbers were confirmed, she also folded.

    Marta Porter: 1,700,000
    Livanos Georgious: 1,200,000
    Hady Sirbu: 790,000

  • Brutal River Sends Kingsley to the Rail

    Level 22:15,000/30,000 (30,000)
    Entries:14/418
    Prizes:£52,710

From the Lo-jack, Ryan Cox opened to 60,000. David Kingsley raised to 200,000 from the Small Blind. After receiving the count (and paying the waitress for his drink), Cox forced his opponent all in for an additional 640,000. Kingsley made the call.

    Ryan Cox: AK
    David Kingsley: JJ

Yet another flip. Things looked good for Kingsley on the 3Q7 flop. Cox picked up additional outs on the 10 turn. The K on the river was the nail in the coffin; Kingsley was eliminated in position 15, and went to collect his £615 payout.

    Ryan Cox: 2,400,000
    David Kingsley: 0

  • Wyvill Doubles Up

    Level 22:15,000/30,000 (30,000)
    Entries:15/418
    Prizes:£52,710

The board read 54629 with roughly 850,000 in the middle. Goonjan Mall was faced with a tough decision, as Ryan Wyvill had moved all in for 525,000. Mall took his time and was even called the clock upon. Eventually, he made the call.

    Ryan Wyvill: A8
    Goonjan Mall: 88

Wyvill wasn’t bluffing, and he won a big pot at this crucial stage of the tournament. The friendly players at the table enlightened us that action had gone check-check on the river, Wyvill had led out on the turn, and then, obviously, shoved the river.

    Ryan Wyvill: 1,900,000
    Goonjan Mall: 1,400,000

  • O’Riordan Bids Farewell

    Level 22:15,000/30,000 (30,000)
    Entries:15/418
    Prizes:£52,710

UTG, Daniel Keiller opened to 90,000. Action folded to Dennis O’Riordan, who went all in from the Small Blind for 355,000. After receiving the count, Keiller made the call.

    Dennis O’Riordan: 44
    Daniel Keiller: A10

On this flip encounter, Keiller was on the better side of things as the board spelled out A82QJ. O’Riordan was eliminated in position 16 for £515.

    Daniel Keiller: 2,850,000
    Dannis O’Riordan: 0

    Ricky Connon: A9
    Goonjan Mall: 88

It was a flip, but Connon wasn’t able to improve as the board ran out 34K3Q. He was the first one to go out on Day 3, and Mall added to his stack.

    Goonjan Mall: 1,845,000
    Ricky Connon: 0

Time flies when you have fun, they say. This has proven to be true; the halfway point of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester has already been reached. It’s a bittersweet feeling. The event has been absolutely stellar so far, but the fact that there are only three days left leaves all poker players wanting more. Nevertheless, there are still a couple of days to enjoy live poker at the highest possible level.

Yesterday was arguably the most action-packed day of the event so far. No fewer than three major tournaments took place at the Manchester235 Casino: the £100 PLO456 poker.proTurbo 7-Max, Day 1a of the £500 Main Event, and Day 2 of the £150 Mini Main Event. Let’s deep dive into the archive and recap Thursday’s action.

Rivered Flush Sterred Rossookh to PLO456 Title

Thursday, June 19, was the first day of the poker.pro live coverage from Manchester, and the eyes were on their own branded tournament. This was the third installment of a poker.pro PLO456 tournament, and their collaboration with PartyPoker has once again proved to be a fruitful one. In fact, the two entities (together with Manchester235 Casino) can all pat themselves on the back; the tournament quickly became the biggest poker.pro one-day tournament through all time, registering an impressive 112 entries.

Six cards - again. Of course. Photo: PartyPoker
Six cards – again. Of course. Photo: PartyPoker

It was a dealer’s choice tournament; the player seated on the Button was free to choose whether the hand would be played with four, five, or six hole cards. It became evident from the get-go that the Brits love action; the giant wooden dice placed on the table in order to keep track of how many cards would be used, would often have the six face up.

Right from the start, it was controlled chaos. Players were busting left and right, and there were even some multi-way all-ins. This can, of course, be expected when each player has six hole cards; it’s hard not to connect on the flops. The tournament director was running back and forth between the tables, busting players left and right.

There were a few familiar faces partaking in what was a rollercoaster of a poker tournament. PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples late-registered for the tournament together with his partner in crime, Rebecca Hardisty. Staples was actually seated on the same table as the poker.pro CEO, Jason Glatzer. Sadly, neither of the three icons made it into the money.

After Matthew Cox became the bubble boy, the tempo amped up and the action increased rapidly. Within a few hands, four players had already been eliminated. Not too long thereafter, the final table was set, and the remaining eight competitors continued the fight for the first-place payout of £2,629.

Even though the pay jumps were increasing, it still didn’t take long between the bust-outs. In fact, it was too fast for the sole poker.pro reporter to be able to catch it all, but not everything went by the reporter’s eye. The arguably most important hand of the tournament was captured when Daryosh Rossookh eliminated Heelis Connor in fourth place. At this point, the two of them were massive chip leaders, and had not a spade fallen on the river, the result may have been different.

The 6 did come, though, and that gave Rossookh one of the most commanding chip leads ever seen. He had no issues eliminating Jamie O’ Brien and Stefan Stroffek, and when the dust had settled, he could be crowned the winner. Not only did he get the £2,629 and the trophy, but he (as well as O ‘Brien and Stroffek) got a top-of-the-art water bottle, branded with poker.pro and Poker Against Plastic Pollution.

Mini Main Event Concludes Today; 11 Bagged in First Main Event Flight

That’s the poker.pro PLO456 done and dusted. Today, another tournament will see a winner being crowned. 18 players are remaining in the £150 Mini Main Event. 418 entries were made in total, which created a £56,430 prize pool. 83 players moved on to Day 2 from the various Day 1 flights, and 63 players made the money. Today, they’ll continue battling it out over the tables for the £9,605 first-place payout. Matthew Archer is the current chip leader; the seat draw and chip counts for today can be seen here.

In terms of the £500 Main Event, 11 players bagged in yesterday’s Day 1a flight. One of them was PartyPoker Tour Team ambassador Sam Acheampong, who bagged the third most in chips. The full results from Day 1a can be seen here. At this current moment, Day 1b is in full swing.

There’s no doubt about it: The PartyPoker Tour Manchester event lives up to the standard set in London a few weeks ago, and it’ll be a thrill to see the action unfolding over the next three days. New poker history is about to be written in Manchester.

It’s the third day of the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester, which means another day in paradise. During the first two days of the event, the Manchester235 Casino has proven to be a fitting venue for what is one of the hottest live poker circuits out there right now.

Today will most surely live up to the set standard and more, as the schedule is filled to the brim with mouth-watering tournaments. Needless to say, all poker enthusiasts in Manchester are in for a treat this sunny Thursday.

    A Three-Course Meal

One of the most popular tournaments during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London event a few weeks back was the £150 Mini Main Event. The tournament is back in Manchester, and today, Day 2 is scheduled to commence at 18:00 (before that, though, there’s the 1d Hyper Turbo flight at 13:00). In London, the tournament attracted a whopping 866 entries, a tail that Manchester is chasing. After the first three flights here in Manchester, 323 entries have already been made, which means that there are £41,990 in the prize pool already.

Day 2 of the Mini Main will play 11 levels, or until 18 players remain. The players advancing to Day 2 are not in the money; the cut is at 75 % of the number of players who take their seats in Day 2.

At 14:00, it’s time for Day 1a of the £500 Main Event. With a 50,000 starting stack and 40-minute levels, the Main Event offers unparalleled opportunities for players to put all of their poker skills on display. Getnet Kassa received £38,408 for winning in London; who’ll join him in the winner’s circle by claiming the Manchester crown?

Paresh Doshi Winner of PartyPoker Tour UK London £200 poker.pro PLO (£2,220)
Paresh Doshi won the £200 poker.pro PLO during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London a few weeks ago

Then, at 20:00, there’s the £100 PLO456 poker.pro Turbo 7-Max. The collaboration between PartyPoker and poker.pro is growing, and it’s thrilling that the official media partner gets to host a tournament of their own during the Manchester event.

In terms of today’s live coverage, poker.pro will mainly report from the PLO456. The occasional update from Day 2 of the Mini Main will also be posted, and, perhaps some coverage of the first flight of the Main Event.

  • Online Qualifiers Key to Success of PartyPoker Return

PartyPoker Tour Manchester 2025 sending 1000 players to the live felts

Make no mistake about it: when PartyPoker announced their highly anticipated return to the live poker scene, their biggest niche was without a doubt their online qualifying campaign. They made a promise to send 1,000 players to the live fields, which is an insanely large number if you consider all the parameters.

What we’ve seen from the 2025 PartyPoker UK Tour so far is unique. In a way, one could make the claim that PartyPoker are starting from scratch; this modern concept wasn’t something they resurrected from their events before their hiatus. Few, if any, other live poker tours manage to create such a feel-good vibe around the tables, while simultaneously keeping the poker serious and vital.

They’ve managed to get numbers of entries that are hard to comprehend. A big part of this is the online qualifiers, which’ve enabled for poker players to secure the poker experience of a lifetime for mere cents. The best part? Qualifiers are still running for the three upcoming events.

    From £0,01 to £1,000

To be able to get one’s hands on a £1,000 package for only £0,01, almost sounds too good to be true. Yet, PartyPoker has made it possible. Through a five-step process, players can secure what is sure to be poker memories that they’ll never forget. If one doesn’t have the patience to go through all the steps, it’s also possible to buy in to step 4.

  • PartyPoker Tour Manchester Kicks off with £150 Mini Main Event

2025 PartyPoker Tour UK London Mini Main Event Day 2

After a successful first event in London a couple of weeks back, the 2025 PartyPoker Tour UK is finally back with its second out of a total of five stops this year. The red carpet has been rolled out at the Manchester235 Casino, and if it’s anything like what went down in London, all poker players are in for a treat.

The first tournament of the event is the £150 Mini Main. There are four starting flights for this three-day affair, with Day 1a being the gem of today’s schedule.

Dost Ghrabie PPT London Mini Main Winner

The £150 Mini Main Event in London had the exact same structure as the one in Manchester. In London, 866 entries were made, which created a £109,200 prize pool. The £17,170 first-place payout was not a bad paycheck for a £150 buy-in tournament. After an absolute blockbuster of a tournament, Dost Ghrabie captured the title. It’ll be interesting to see if Ghrabie makes the trip to Manchester and attempts to defend his title.

In terms of live coverage, poker.pro will commence live reporting tomorrow, June 18, when Day 1b of the Mini Main kicks off. Before that, however, chip counts from Day 1a will be posted here on the live blog.

Then, at 20:00, there’s the £100 PLO456 poker.pro Turbo 7-Max. The collaboration between PartyPoker and poker.pro is growing, and it’s thrilling that the official media partner gets to host a tournament of their own during the Manchester event.

Aleksander Georgiev during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester. Photo: PartyPoker

Xiantong Li opened to 10,000 from UTG+1. James O’Brien (Button), Jonathan Hanley (Small Blind), and Knights Macsen (Big Blind) all made the call.

Action was checked to Li on the 4JA, who bet 15,000. O’Brien and Hanley both made the call, before Macsen folded.

All three players checked the Q turn. Action repeated itself on the 7 river.

Hanley immediately tabled A3; he was visibly disappointed that none of his opponents took the bait. Nevertheless, he won the pot.

Action folded to Xiantong Li in the Small Blind, who only called the Big Blind. Daniel Vargas wouldn’t allow it, though, and he raised to 15,000. Li made the call.

    Daniel Vargas: AK
    Xiantong Li: 98

Vargas was drawing dead against Li’s turned straight. The 4 on the river was a pure formality, and Li doubled up.

PartyPoker Live Tour Ambassador Aleksander “Wishiper96” Georgiev shared an interesting hand on his Instagram account that is blog-worthy.

Pre-flop, Georgiev was faced with a three-bet and decided to only call with AK. On the 227 flop, he called a 15,000 bet. His opponent continued for 45,000 on the 5 turn, and Georgiev called again.

On the 4 river, the opponent fired for a third time, this time sizing up to 100,000. Georgiev made the call with ace-high.

The opponent mucked, saying he had ace-ten.

  • 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester Day 6: Orhan Wins the £500 Main Event for £19,843

Deniz Orhan, winner of the £500 Main Event. Photo: PartyPoker

£500 Main Event Final Table. Photo: PartyPoker
£500 Main Event Final Table. Photo: PartyPoker

The crucial hand between Alexander Georgiev and Ronnie Marland. Photo: PartyPoker
The crucial hand between Alexander Georgiev and Ronnie Marland. Photo: PartyPoker

Ronnie Marland and Deniz Orhan sealing the deal. Photo: PartyPoker

The river was the 8. Oprea didn’t waste too much time before forcing his opponent all in for 965,000. Georgiev called as fast as humanly possible.

    Ion Oprea: 109
    Alexander Georgiev: KK

Unfortunate timing for a bluff. Oprea lost a big part of his stack to Georgiev, who surpassed the 3,000,000 mark.

No deal!

Bromley had Marland dominated, and was looking good for a double-up. “I’ll settle with a chop,” Marland said as the dealer revealed the 8K8 flop. Unfortunately for Bromley, the prophecy came true, as the board completed with 58. Everyone loves a chop pot? Well, maybe not everyone.

The board completed with 5Q, and that settled it. Cox was eliminated in position 14, which meant that the remaining 13 players were all in the money, guaranteed a £150 min-cash.

    Daryosh Rossookh: 4QJ986
    Yan Song: A3677K

Rossookh was on the better side of things on the K510A9 flop. He busted Song and now plays a massive stack.

Let’s throw in some quick updates from the other two big tournaments in the room.

Day 1a of the £500 Main Event got 44 entries. 15 players are currently remaining, and 11 will bag for Day 2.

In Day 2 of the £150 Mini Main Event, 32 players remain from the 86 who took their seats earlier today 18:00. All in all, the Mini Main Event got 418 entries.

  • Toward Eliminates Veksins

    Level 10:1,000/2,000
    Entries:34/112
    Prizes:TBA

From the Cut-off, Joel Toward opened to 5,000. Mr. X called from the Small Blind, and Vadims Veksins defended his Big Blind.

The flop came 45A. Action checked to Toward, who continued for 10,000. Mr. X folded before Veksins made the call.

Veksins took the aggressive path and went all in for 26,000 on the 8 turn. Toward made the call rather quickly.

    Vadims Veksins: 1098744
    Joel Toward: AKQ867

Toward was ahead with the straight, and the J didn’t help Veksins. He was eliminated and Toward may be the current chip leader.

    Joel Toward: 153,000
    Vadims Veksins: 0

With 107 entries, this is now the biggest poker.pro one-day event ever. poker.pro would like to thank PartyPoker for a sublime collaboration that’s growing bigger and stronger each day. Also, big shoutout to the Manchester235 Casino; the dealers and the rest of the staff are doing amazing work.

    Level 7:500/1,000

After some limping, some potting, some calling, and some more shenanigans, five players were all in pre-flop. The game was PLO6. Alright, let’s type out the whole deck, I guess:

    Joel Toward: AKK996
    Henrik Nowroozi: AQQ1054
    Kyle Browitt: Q41010Q7
    Liam Johnston: A29862
    Ranveer Arora: KJ2763

Let’s not go over the percentage for each player on every street. But, the full board spelled out 73J56. This meant that eight-nine was the nuts, and Johnston was the only player with this holding. Thus, he won a huge pot, eliminating Noqroozi and Browitt in the process. All signs points to Johnston being the chip leader.

UTG, Mathias Anthony made it 1,200. Ed Beaufoy announced “pot” from the Button, which translated to a 4,200 raise. Ranveer Arora called from the Small Blind, and Anthony also joined the party.

First to act on the Q109 flop, Arora poted to 13,000. Anthony went all in for just a couple more thousands; Beaufoy folded quickly, before Arora made the call.

    Ranveer Arora: KJA57
    Mathias Anthony: AJQ86

“You got a straight,” Arora asked his opponent before they turned over their cards. “At the moment, yes,” was the cheeky answer from Anthony, who was ahead. The 6 turn didn’t change much, but the K on the river meant the players would chop the pot with a broadway straight each. Oh, how we love PLO5!

    Mathias Anthony: 27,000
    Ranveer Arora: 24,000

The poker.pro CEO, Jason Glatzer, is one of the players in the tournament. Or, he was; he just busted his first bullet after getting it all in on the flop against Jamie O’ Brien. Glatzer took the lead on the turn, hitting a set of sevens, but his fate was sealed when O’ Brien hit a flush on the river.

Glatzer headed straight to the cashier; rebuy!

  • Bennet Gets There

    Level 4:200/400
    Entries:39/52
    Prizes:TBA

Val Bennet and Ranveer Arora clashed against each other. On the 9K7 flop, they pot back and forth, until a relatively short-stacked Bennet was all in.

    Val Bennet: 6AK4
    Ranveer Arora: 9742

The 9K785 board saw Bennet hit a straight on the river, and she doubled up. A fun little anecdote is that when the 8 turn fell on the turn, Arora asked the table, “So what’s that?”, and no one could answer right away whether he improved or not. I said it before, and I’ll say it again: PLO can be confusing!

    Ranveer Arora: 28,500
    Val Bennet: 14,000

  • Good Start for Cossick

    Level 3:100/300
    Entries:32/39
    Prizes:TBA

Eoin Walsh opened to 700 UTG. Conner Heells (Cut-off) and Osman Mustanoglu (Small Blind) both called before James Cossick raised to 3,500. Everyone decided to pay the extra fee and stick around.

The flop was 696. Action was checked to Heells who bet 4,000. Cossick was the sole caller.

The two contestants checked the 6 turn, and the 7 river.

Cossick showed two of his six cards; he made a full house with AA and added to his already impressive stack.

    James Cossick: 67,000
    Connor Heells: 11,500

Then, at 20:00, there’s the £100 PLO456 poker.pro Turbo 7-Max. The collaboration between PartyPoker and poker.pro is growing, and it’s thrilling that the official media partner gets to host a tournament of their own during the Manchester event.

In terms of today’s live coverage, poker.pro will mainly report from the PLO456. The occasional update from Day 2 of the Mini Main will also be posted, and, perhaps some coverage of the first flight of the Main Event.
