It’s been a long and fun week for poker players in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius. But on the ninth and final day, the final 13 players get set to battle it out for OlyBet glory in the 2025 OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Ace Breaker €555 Main Event and the €28,760 top prize with already €2,420 locked up on Day 2.

Lukas Kviecinskas will lead the way to kick things off with 1,130,000- and comes into the event with under $10,000 in cashes at The Hendon Mob. A deep run today will more than double his earnings but time will tell whether his starting advantage will parlay into a trophy.

Kviecinskas’s lead is far from secure as he is just 30,000 chips ahead with blinds starting at 10,000/20,000 with a 20,000 big blind ante of Latvia’s Raivis Pucurs with 1,100,000. Nerius Rutkauskas was also a chip millionaire to end Day 2 with 1,035,000 with Vygerdas Jonikas (960,000) and Finland’s Rasmus Sihvonen (935,000) rounding out the top five.

Meanwhile, Vilius Zabarauskas, is on the end end of the scale with one of the shortest stacks with 285,000. Zabarauskas shined during the first two days after winning trophies at the OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Ace Breaker in back-to-back days to start the festival.

Taunys checked the 672 flop before Stanevičius bet 27,000. Taunys called which brought the turn 4. Taunys once again checked and Stanevičius this time sized up to 82,000, enough to make Taunys fold.

    Ernestas Taunys: 550,000
    Aurimas Stanevičius: 500,000

While this played out, Raivo Grislis busted on another table. He collected €1,710 for his feat.

The second 15-minute break of Day 2 just started. Just minutes before the last hand was dealt Tomas Bassus, Bartosz Gorski, and Augustas Bareiša bust from the tournament, which means the total number of players in right now is at 46.

One who’s not out of the tournament though is Aurimas Stanevičius. The Lithuanian came to OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Ace Breaker with a lot of confidence; at the end of 2024, he won the €1,100 Kings of Vilnius Main Event for €61,455. During the first minutes of the break, this reporter, Christoffer Karlén, had a small chat with Stanevičius.

Stanevičius recognizes the heater but shared he hasn’t changed much other than high confidence and consistency.

“I think so, I’ve been in really good shape recently,” shared Stanevičius about his recent amazing run. “I haven’t been doing anything differently but I’m playing with much confidence; I’ve been playing good consistently and now I’m harvesting the fruits.”

Stanevičius had a deep run two days ago in the €1,100 High Roller but eventually bowed out in 10th place for €2,550 on the final table bubble. Regardless, his love of OlyBet events in the Baltics including the 2025 OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Ace Breaker always shines.

“It’s awesome,” Stanevičius said about the Vilnius Ace Breaker. “I always love playing the OlyBet events in Vilnius, Tallinn, etc. They are my favourite events!”

Meanwhile, Stanevičius is alive and well with the money bubble approaching with 150,000 in chips on his third bullet of the event. Will the trifecta of OlyBet Main Event titles be completed in less than a year? There is still a long way to go, but one thing we won’t do is ever count Stanevičius out as long as he has chips.

Aurimas Stanevičius, winner of the €1,500 WSOPC Tallinn 2024 Main Event.
Aurimas Stanevičius also won the €1,500 WSOPC Tallinn 2024 Main Event.

There’s no exaggeration that Stanevičius came to Vilnius with a lot of confidence. When asked if there’s been any memorable hand during the week, he recalls a spot in the €1,100 High Roller where I called down a tripple-barrel bluff with king high and winning at showdown. Stanevičius knows what he’s doing at the poker table and he has another poker trip coming up soon to Cambodia.

Thanks to Aurimas Stanevičius for the chat, and we wish him good luck in the tournament!

Kęstutis Jungevičius attempted to limp from the button, but Marko Hynynen put in a raise to 6,000 from the small blind. The big blind folded and when it was back to Jungevičius, he decided to call.

Both players checked the 245 flop. When the 8 fell on the turn, Hynynen bet 8,000 and was called by Jungevičius.

On the river 6, Hynynen checked prior to Jungevičius betting 15,500. Hynynen made the call.

    Kęstutis Jungevičius: J6

The queens awarded Hynynen the pot who’s building a stack to bag for Day 2.

    Ernestas Taunys: A7
    Serhii Leonov: 1010

No fortune for Taunys on the Q646Q runout and his second bullet in the Main Event came to an end.

    Marko Hynynen: KK

After some consideration, Muraška went all in for 49,000. Briazkala folded and Vygerdas called as fast as physically possible.

    Tomas Muraška: JJ
    Jonikas Vygerdas: AK

A classic encounter which this time went the way of Vygerdas, seeing as the board spelled out A105Q7. Muraška bid farewell to the table, seeing as Vygerdas had him covered with roughly 20,000.

    Linas Jautakis
    Linas Jautakis

Linas Jautakis is one of the 55 players currently in Day 1b of the Main Event. Given his success here throughout the years, Jautakis is presumably comfortable at Olympic Casino Vilnius.

At the OlyBet Showdown Vilnius in the summer of 2023, Jautakis won the €1,100 High Roller for €18,880. This is the second-best cash for Jautakis; in 2021, he won the €250 Betsafe Fisherman Challenge Main Event for €41,160.

To top it off, Jautakis seems to be in great form, considering his latest three Hendon Mob scores are all first-place finishes.

Jautakis is one of many great players left in the field. The quality of poker is high at Olympic Casino Vilnius, and the atmosphere is electrifying!

  • Three Streets, One Sizing

    Level 9:500/1,000 (1,000)
    Entries:53/86
    Prizes:€106,400

Rolandas Aglinskas raised to 2,000 under the gun. He got called by Egidijus Liutkevičius from the cut-off, and big blind-player Paulius Kostickis also joined the party.

On the K29 flop, Kostickis checked prior to Aglinskas betting 2,500. Liutkevičius called, but Kostickis threw his cards into the muck.

Turn was the 8 and Aglinskas continued the 2,500 betting trend. Liutkevičius called once again and the players were introduced to the Q on the river.

Aglinskas now checked and Liutkevičius was the one betting – you guessed it – 2,500. Aglinskas called and Liutkevičius turned over KK. Top set was enough and Liutkevičius won a decent pot.

    Rolandas Aglinskas: 64,500
    Egidijus Liutkevičius: 44,000

The flop came A74 and Rudnik check-called a 2,100 continuation bet from Pyysing. On the turn 9 Pyysing bet 4,000. Rudnik went all in for roughly 25,000 and Pyysing called as quickly as humanly possible.

    Grigorij Rudnik: A3
    Aki Pyysing: AK

The river was a brick; Rudnik’s tournament life came to an end, while Pyysing’s already impressive stack became even bigger.

    Ernestas Stalemekas: AA
    Lukas Sivaskovas: KK
    Rolandas Aglinskas: QQ

Truly a scenario you do not see that often. Stalemekas won the main pot while Sivakovas won the side pot against Aglinskas.

On the flop Q62, it was checked to Pelegrimas who bet 3,500. Goodall and Jautakis called.

The turn brought the 8. Jautakis checked prior to Pelegrimas betting 7,300. Goodall threw is right hand up in the air as a “what is going on”-gesture, before announcing all in for 35,500. Jautakis got out of the way but Pelegrimas, after a minute’s consideration, made the call.

    Arūnas Kontautas: AK
    Ramūnas Pocevičius: JJ

On a 666K board, there were 24,000 in the middle. In a blind-VS-blind battle, Matas Budginas continued being the aggressor and put in another 6,000. Edgaras Truskauskas wasn’t going anywhere, though, and he made the call.

The river was the 7, and Budginas now went all-in for 14,000. This move sent Truskauskas into the tank; he only had 18,000 left himself, and this could’ve been the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

After maybe 3 minutes, Truskauskas made the call.

    Matas Budginas: AQ
    Edgaras Truskauskas: 22

Truskauskas was visibly pleased with his call. As he collected the chips, Budginas left the tournament area. Prior to him, Povilas Astašauskas had become the first person to bust out from the tournament.

    Edgaras Truskauskas: 70,000
    Matas Budginas: 0

    Valdemaras Apolianskas: KJ
    Rolandas Aglinskas: A10

One can understand the thought process of Aglinskas, blocking the nut flush. This time however, the pot went the way of Apolinskas leaving Aglinskas fairly short-stacked.

    Valdemaras Apolianskas: 39,000
    Rolandas Aglinskas: 10,500

Urbonas turned over AJ for three-of-a-kind with top kicker. Pilinkus looked at his hand for a good 15 seconds; he revealed the J before mucking his hand.

    Mantas Urbonas: 62,000

Ridas Bitauskas raised to 800 from the hi-jack. Grigorij Rudnik (cut-off)and Justinas Adomauskas (big blind) both called.

Adomauskas checked the 84J flop prior to Bitauskas betting 1,100. Rudnik quickly raised to 2,700. This caused Adomauskas to fold, while Bitauskas decided to call.

Both players checked the J turn, and Bitauskas continued the passive line as he also checked on the 7 river. Rudnik bet 2,000 and Bitauskas called.

Rudnik turned over QQ; a pair of queens was obviously enough to win the hand seeing as Bitauskas mucked his hand.

    Ridas Bitauskas: 29,000

    Edgaras Truskauskas: 44,500

The flop came 93A and Bareiša led out for 2,000. Shani called and the rest of the players decided it was time to get out of the way.

The turn brought the 4. Bareiša didn’t slow down and fired a 6,000 bet. This was enough to make Shani fold.

    Mattias Andersson

Naturally, the majority of the tournament fields during OlyBet Showdown Vilnius Ace Breaker are from Lithuania, but there are several other nations being represented. At Table 4, for instance, Sweden’s Mattias Andersson and the Norwegian Paal Vermundsdammen are seated next to eachother.

Andersson just raised to 300 from the hi-jack and got called by Egidijus Liutkevičius from the button, and by Mantas Urbonas who was the big blind.

Urbonas checked over to Andersson on the J87 flop, and the Swede bet 600. Liutkevičius called and Urbonas folded.

The turn was the 4 and Andersson now bet 1,500. Liutkevičius made the call almost instantly. The river brought the 3 and Andersson fired a 3,000 bet. Again, Liutkevičius called as quickly as possible.

    Mattias Andersson: 77
    Egidijus Liutkevičius: 65

Andersson’s set was no good as Liutkevičius scooped the pot with his straight.

    Egidijus Liutkevičius: 42,500
    Mattias Andersson: 22,500

  • Urbonas Wins a Small One

    Level 1:100/100
    Entries:24/24
    Prizes:€76,950

Typically, there aren’t too many vital hands during the earlier stages of a tournament. The action will of course pick up the deeper into Day 1B the players get.

Mantas Urbonas opened to 300 from the cut-off and Mantas Meskevicius defended his big blind. Both players checked the 2J3 flop. On the 6 turn, Meskevicius led out for 600 and was quickly called by Urbonas.

The river came 2 and Meskevicius now bet 700. Urbonas shuffled a chip in his hand for a couple of seconds before he made the call.

    Mantas Meskevicius: K10
    Mantas Urbonas: QJ

A pair of jacks was enough for Urbonas to take home the pot.

    Mantas Urbonas: 46,000
    Mantas Meskevicius: 31,500

  • Familiar Names in the Field

    Level 1:100/100
    Entries:19/19
    Prizes:€74,575

As more and more players keep entering Day 1B, there are some names that may be familiar.

Mantas Urbonas is seated at Table 4. The Lithuanian scored his biggest cash in 2018 when he came 4th in the €550 Battle of Malta Main Event, and he’s currently 28th on the Lithuania all time money list on Hendon Mob.

Ernestas Stalemekas finished 2nd in the €200 Olympic Spring Cup Main Event 2016, and he’s still looking for his first title on home soil.

Rolandas Aglinskas is also here seeking revenge from last year, when he finished 4th in the OlyBet Showdown Ace Breaker 2024 for €12,865.

The number of players keep going up by the minute and of course, there’ll be many more familiar names in the mix today.

The blinds are high and you can tell there’s been some short-stacked players; in just a matter of minutes Mindaugas Simkus, Aurimas Bagdonas, Ian Morris, and Jari Mähönen all busted.

At table 2, Raivis Pucurs opened to 25,000 from UTG+1. Darius Liesis decided to defend his big blind and the 2 were heads-up to the flop.

On Q106, Liesis check-called 25,000 from Pucurs. Action repeated itself on the 10, only difference was that the sizing from Pucurs this time was 50,000.

Liesis checked for a third time when the 5 fell on the river. Pucurs wasn’t afraid of a flush; he bet 125,000 and Liesis cards hit the much fairly quickly.
