2025 Beer Poker Tour London Live Reporting

As the official media partner, poker.pro will be on-site at Genting Casino Stratford, providing live updates and recaps from the £150 poker.pro PLO4/5/6 and the £185 Main Event Double Mystery tournaments.

  • Dan Spataru is the Beer Poker Tour Main Event Champion

After Giuseppe Cerri had been taken out in 3rd place, the heads-up encounter began between Moldovan Dan Spataru and Lithuanian V V. Dan had a 30m to 12m chip lead and it only took a few hands before the pair of them got it all-in.

Heads Up For the Beer Trophy

Dan had KQ and was well in front of V V, whose K4 was dominated.

The crowd of onlookers drew closer and Will Kassouf provided a running commentary as the board was dealt out, saying something along the lines of

“oh, put a four down there, you’ll be 4-high like a boss when you iron him out with that monster”  said Will, or something similar.

    Wine high, like a Kassouf

But the deck had other ideas and the 888 flop would have been a great final hand board, if this event had one particular online sponsor.

The turn and river of 27 was no help for the anonymous Lithuanian and he busted in second for £8,250.

    The Final Hand

Dan Spataru, originally from Moldova, but a Londoner for the last eleven years, was ecstatic at his victory, the win topping off a truly incredible day for him.

It began a couple of hours into the day, when Dan pulled the biggest bounty of £5,000. But he didn’t stop there, he also claimed bounties of £2,000, £1,000, £500, £300 and several for £200 and £100, pushing his total winnings from the £185 buy-in event to over £20,000.

He has been a truly dominant champion, always looking super focused. It was noticeable to this observer that he was paying far more attention to the game than most of his final table opponents, studying their every moves, even when not involved in hands.

Dan is mostly an online player and had over $27,000 in live cashed before today, with this win of £11,800 (not including bounties) being his biggest win to date. He’s certainly one to watch for the future.

Congratulations to Dan Spataru, the Double Mystery Bounty Main Event Champion at the Beer Poker Tour London!

  • Giuseppe Cerri Out in 3rd

Giuseppe Cerri was eliminated in 3rd place after A10 getting his outdrawn by V V’s A6, but headed home with £8,250.

    Giuseppe Cerri

  • Spataru Stakes Claim on Title, Wins 24m Pot

Moldovan Dan Spataru has taken a massive pot from Vaidas Vitkauskas, pushing his stack up to 24m. the Lithuanian was left with just 6m after the hand, with Italian Giuseppe Cerri on 12m.

    Dan Spataru

  • Jean Rupert Out in 4th

The only Frenchman ON the final table is no more.

He was out kicked in a shove-call situation against V V with A6 against A7 and the board ran out

    1010283

Jean Robert became the 4th place finisher, taking away £4,400 for his two long days at the table.

But there is still one Frenchman AT the final table though, Merivan, the owner and creator of the Beer Poker Tour.

The final three are now each hoping to make it to the heads-up stage. The jokes have dried up and it’s getting serious..ish.

    Au revoir Jean Robert

  • Chips Counts At the Break

The four remaining players have just returned from a short break. It’s now in the 31st level of the tournament, with blinds at 200k/400k with a big blind ante of 400k.

    Dan Spataru – 17m
    Vaidas Vitkausk – 13.5m
    Giuseppe Cerri – 5.5m
    Jean Rupert – 6.5m

  • Dropping Like Flies!

Two more players have seen their tournament lives come to an end. Serhii Lubyk moved all-in with A4 and was called by Vaidas with 55. But the board was no help and he became the 6th place finisher, cashing for £2,400.

Just a hand or two later the field was reduced to four when Joshua Wooldridge, the most experienced player on the final table bowed out in 5th for £3,225

He had jammed from the button and was called by Vaidas and Jean Rupert. On a flop of 83K. Vaidas checked and then called Jean’s 400k bet, but folded to a 2.5m jam from Jean on a A turn. Jean had flopped a set of eights, leaving Joshua drawing dead.

Unfortunately neither of them will be winning this bad boy…

Beer Poker Tour Main Event Trophy
  • Lai Tan Out in 7th

Lai Tai started the final table as the short stack and had just 1.5m left when seven handed play began. He doubled and won a few pots, but was down to just over a million when he moved all-in on the button with [invalid notations]Ac3c[/pcn] and was called by Dan Spataru in the big blind, with [AkQs].

The first card out was a three, putting Lai in the lead, accompanied by a ten and a queen. Another player at the table disrespectfully called for a jack. Boom, the turn delivered just that. Lai Tan busted in 7th place for 1,825, his biggest ever cash.

  • Kings Cracked Twice, Down to Seven

Yordan Yordanov has become the first player to depart from the final table. He moved all-in under-the-gun for his last 1.3m and was called by big stack Serhii Lubyk.

Having taken out Lubyk, Serhii then luckboxed the largest remaining mystery bounty of £2,000

Yordan had pocket kings, while Lubyk made the call with A8. But the first card that peeled off the deck on the flop was the A and that was that for Yordan. He exited in 9th place for £1,190.

Soon afterwards the field was reduced to seven when Leigh Gillson suffered the same fate, having his pocket kings cracked by Vaidas Vitkausk’s Ace-King. Leigh departed in 8th, taking £1,450.

  • Final Table Time!

It’s final table time in the Main Event! The remaining players have gone on a short break and play will resume shortly. We’ll get chip counts at the next scheduled break, at the end of level 27. They have one hand left to play in level 26 when they begin.

Beer Poker Tour London Main Event Final Table
  • Ten Left as Last Remaining Beer Eliminated

There are now just ten players left and the Beer Poker Tour London Main Event is now just one bust away from a very sober final table. Madri departed in 11th place and has now been whisked away to get recycled into the bar’s glass stock £1,000 richer.

    Madri, 11th for £1,000
  • Ljubisa Nedimovic Hits the Rail

Ljubisa Nedimovic, the poker.pro 4/5/6 Card PLO champion has been eliminated in 13th place for £853, ending his shot at becoming a back-to-back winner this week. Short-stacked, he got his last 1.1m in with 88 but was up against AK.

On a flop of 6610, Ljubo’s hand was in front and was still holding after 2 came on the turn. But the 9 on the river brought his participation in the tournament to an abrupt end.

A further two players have busted since then, leaving eleven poker pipers still in piping for the title.

    Ljubisa Nedimovic
  • Only One Main Event Player Drinking Beer!

Something strange is happening at the last two tables of the Main Event. Only one of the last fourteen remaining players has a pint of beer!

  • Two Tables Left in Main Event

With the field now reduced to 15 on two tables, we are getting closer to reaching the final. There is still one £2,000 bounty left to draw.

Ljubisa Nedimovic, the 4/5/6 Card PLO champion is still in, as is big bounty puller Dan Spataru. Play has slowed down now, as players begin to set their sights on the top payouts.

  • Main Event Prize Pool

The opening of the mystery bounty envelopes is one of the things everyone is interested in at the beginning of Day 2. Even though some might congratulate those who pull big bounties, every player in the room is funking for the smallest prizes of £100 to be pulled.

The biggest £5,000 bounty is gone, but with 32 players left, there are still two worth £2,000 each to be drawn. But as the number whittle down, attention turns to the prize pool, where the biggest prizes can be won. This is what those left in are playing for.

  • Beer Break in the Main Event

We came back with 130 players and at the first break just 48 remain. when they return the blinds will be 15k/30k with a 30k big blind ante. The average stack is now 883,900.

Also today there are some side events. The first of these is the beerpot, which is a bit like a bomb pot tournament, as every time the blinds go up, Beer Poker Tour owner Merivan puts a drink voucher into the next pot, on the house!

It’s quite a lively one this afternoon, with Will Kassouf attempting to iron everyone out. They are down to the final two tables and unfortunately for the 9-high boss man, he’s the one that’s just been ironed out.

  • Field Cut in Half and £5,000 Bounty Pulled

The field in the £185 Double Mystery Bounty Main Event has now been cut in half, with 65 players left. It’s not only players who are dropping, the biggest £5,000 mystery bounty has already been pulled, by Dan Spataru.

He’s subsequently taken a few more, but nothing bigger than £300.

  • Nine-High Like an Ex-Participant

Mr Will Kassouf is now no longer taking part in the Main Event. He was one of 30 players to bust in the opening 40 minutes of play. He’s now providing live commentary to players as they open their mystery bounties.

“£100, you picked the wrong one mate, should have gone for that one”

“£100, you’re getting £100, can get yourself a new pair of trainers with that, unless you want a kick in the balls, i’ll give you that…oh you got £300, high roller”

  • Who Made it to Day 2?

The player with the chip lead going into the money stage of the Main Event is Sukhdev Singh, who was the only one to get into seven figures, but only just, with a 1,001,000 stack.

Ljubisa Nedimovic, the poker.pro sponsored £150 4/5/6 Card Pot Limit Omaha Champion, one of the larger stacks, started with 825,000.

Will Kassouf did eventually get into Day 2, but only after at least seven bullets. But he is relatively short, starting with 208,000.

Claire Jordan made it through from the opening flight with 111,111. Tony Poulengeris got through with 396,000. Dillan Patel and Sam Acheampong didn’t manage to secure seats in Day 2.

  • Day Two of the Beer Poker Tour Main Event

Play has just resumed for Day 2 of the £185 Double Mystery Bounty Main Event at the Beer Poker Tour London.

The eight starting flights mustered a field of 849 entries, 130 of whom have returned today. The mystery bounties today will be a bit bigger than those that could be won on the starting days. The biggest bounty today is worth £5,000.

The first prize that they are setting their sights on is £11,800.

  • Midnight at the Beer Poker Tour

It’s midnight at the Beer Poker Tour and there are still two flights of the Main Event in progress.

Will Kassouf has recently busted from Day 1f, which had a total of 154 entries, from which 23 players will earn passage into Day 2, when the prize money and regular mystery bounties kick in.

Tonight’s turbo flight is on level 9 with one more to go until registration closes. So far, there have been 43 entries.

In total there have been 749 entries in the Double Mystery Bounty Main Event, with just one remaining turbo starting flight to go, Day 1h, which begins at 11am on Sunday.

That’s all for tonight’s blog, it’s now pumpkin time for this reporter.  We’ll be back tomorrow for the final day of the Beer Poker Tour London. Cheers!

    Beer Poker Tour Cheers!
  • Veni Vedi Vici!

Jason Glatzer entered the inaugural Poker Experience Tour event with two goals. The first was to break his duck in this casino and actually get a cash here, having soft bubbled here frequently, with not a squeak of a cash. He achieved his first goal by reaching the final table, but with the smallest stack of the ten remaining players.

His second goal was the trophy, which he has been lusting after for the last few days here at the Beer Poker Tour.

He soon improved his chances of achieving goal number two, moving up the chip chart with a couple of early double ups. As players started to bust, he began climbing the cash ladder too. One by one players fell by the wayside and by the time Jason got heads up with Sam Anderson, he held the chip lead of 1.1m to 660k.

Sam began aggressively and the stacks became more even, before Jason won a pot that re-established his chip lead. Just a few hands later, they both found cards good enough to commit with and got the chips in the middle.

    Jason was ahead with A8

    While Sam tabled KQ

Sam, whose tournament life was at risk took the lead on a flop of

    K310

The turn was 5, which didn’t change the situation, but the A on the river, settled thee encounter in favour of the poker.pro CEO.

    Post heads up hug

Jason cashed for £865 for first place and took over £1,000 in bounties. Congratulations, you came, you saw and you conquered. Guess we don’t need to ask who’s buying the beers tonight!

Glenn Brown interviews Jason Glatzer following his victory in the Poker Experience Main Event

In conversation with Glenn Brown afterwards, Glatzer paid tribute to his heads up opponent, noting also have been a worthy winner. He then confirmed the obvious, that he’s “absolutely thrilled and honoured to be the first ever Poker Experience Champion. He also acknowledged that he has his work cut out to try and defend his title at the next Beer Poker Tour event.

  • Glatzer Heads Up!

The Poker Experience Tour PKO is now heads up between Sam Anderson and Jason Glatzer. Sam has already won a seat in the PET September event, which also takes place here at Genting Stratford.

Jason has the chip lead, going into the heads up with 1.1m to Sam’s 660k.

Heads Up between Jason Glatzer and Sam Anderson
  • The Hit Squad Hits Quads Again

The players on Table 30 in Day 1f of the Main Event seem to having a lot of fun. Earlier today someone tabled quads, which according to the bonus rules of the Beer Poker Table results in all players at the table getting a free beer (or merchandise) voucher.

They just all shouted loudly for the floor to come over, to verify that it had happened again. Someone tabled quad jacks and the beers started flowing.

Quad Jack= Free beer for the whole table
  • Kassouf Back in Action Today

Will “nine-high like a boss” Kassouf has returned to the Beer Poker Tour today and is playing in Day 1f of the Main Event. He’s being uncharacteristically quiet today, however. Oh yeah, of course there are the odd few occasions were his trademark phrases are being rolled out but more often he’s introspectively checking his phone today.

As this is one of the last flights of the Main Event, there are a few opportunities left o book a place in Day 2 and he seems very determined to achieve that. However, it doesn’t really look like he’s enjoying himself.

I’ve just watched the end of hand won by Will and having scooped it in, he’s now getting chatty and seems to be having fun once again.

“It’s called Texas Hold’em not Fold’em” he bantered as he raked in the pot.

  • Four Left on PET Final Table

Having been the short stack at the start, Jason Glatzer is now one of the last four on the final table. How far will he go?

This is what they’re playing for (the trophy only, not the model holding it).

  • Main Event Hits 700 Entries

The Beer Poker Tour London Double Mystery Bounty Main Event has reached 700 entries, with still two turbo starting days left to start.

Day 1e, the first flight of the day has just ended, with 19 players progressing from 126 entries.

Day 1f is now on level 7 and has had 145 entries so far, 106 of whom still have chips.

Dat 1g Turbo is due to start soon.

  • Bubble Bursts in PET PKO

The Poker Experience PKO, has now had its very first bubble burst and is now on its maiden final table of its inaugural running. Did I milk that a bit?

One player who is more than relieved to be taking his seat on the ten-player final table is Jason Glatzer, who has just broken his duck in this venue, having soft bubbled here more times than he’d care to remember, but somehow can’t forget. However, he goes into the final as the short stack.

The unlucky player who missed out on the final table was Lisa McNamara, whose AQ failed to get there against sixes.

Jason Glatzer All-In on the Poker Experience Tour bubble

  • Poker Experience Tour PKO Down to Two Tables

In total 88 players entered the very first Poker Experience Tour event. After 10 levels of heavy PETing, just 19 are still involved in the experience. One player who’s having a particularly good experience is Sam Acheampong, having busted several players already.  Sam Acheampong was having a great experience, but he’s just busted, so that might no longer be true.

The final will be ten handed and all will be in the prize money, with £865 for the top two prizes, in addition to the progressive bounties that they’re playing for. Jason Glatzer and Dillan Patel are both still in, as is Paul Moyce, who has a £240 Manchester Main Event seat on his head.

Glenn Brown also had one on his head, but that’s been won. Glenn had the sense to bust just before the pizza party, which ensured he got a slice of the one with the very tasty prawn and chilli topping.

Sam, during happier times, before he hit the rail

  • Day 1e on Break

Day 1e of the Main Event is now on the second break of the day, having reached the end of level 10. Late registration will close when play resumes, with 50 of the 126 entrants still in their seats.

They’re off having some pizza and beers “on the Beer Poker Tour house” in the hospitality lounge…or they were, but it all got hoovered up rather quickly.

Meanwhile the Day 1f field is building nicely and has grown to 93 entries by the end of level 2.

Gotta be quick if you want a pizza the action

  • Day 1e Beginning Shortly

The sixth starting day of the Beer Poker Tour London Double Mystery Bounty Main Event is just about to start. Players are queueing up to buy-in with 51 having purchased their seats prior to the start. Dillan Patel is amongst those in the queue waiting to buy in.

Meanwhile, the fifth flight is in level eight and has risen to 124 entrants. Registration is still open in this and those lining up at the cash desk have a choice.

Meanwhile in the Poker Experience Tour event, Sam Acheampong has been winning big pots left, right and centre, scooping bounties as he does and celebrating in his trademark charismatic manner.

    Sam Acheampong

As Larry Love, the lead singer of Alabama 3 once said

    “it’s getting hot in here”

I’m referring to the poker, because actually the card room is quite a comfortable temperature, with the AC doing the one job it has properly today.

  • Are You Poker Experienced?

You don’t have to be, as the newest poker tour in the UK (it just began today) can check that box for you. It’s a low buy-in tour aimed at having a bit of fun. As these two seem to be having.

    Poker Experience Tour Fun

The £95 PKO event is now on its first break, with the field up to 83 and late registration still open for one more 15-minute level, once they return to the tables.

poker.pro’s Jason Glatzer has increased his 20k starting stack up to 30k, but some have much bigger stacks than that, such as Lisa McNamara, who is up 62k now, but had been over 80k before losing a pot just before the break.

    Lisa McNamara
  • Main Event Day 1e Filling Up

The fifth starting day of the Main Event at the Beer Poker Tour is now in the sixth level, with 111 entries so far. Late registration closes at the end of level 10. There are currently 77 of these left hoping to find a passage into Day 2 and the money.

Matthew Cox, runner up in the poker.pro sponsored £150 4/5/6 Card PLO is was playing this flight, having taken a day off yesterday to recover from the late night finish on Wednesday. But as I’m writing this, he’s heading to the rail…or maybe the desk, to have another pop.

  • Inaugural Poker Experience Tour Event Begins

Apart from the Double Mystery Bounty Main Event, its also bring your pet to the casino day. Um, no, not really, but there is the very first Poker Experience Tour event ever taking place…PET.

Today it’s the £95 Poker Experience Tour PKO, which recently started. Prior to shuffle up and deal announcement, the men behind this new tour, Paul Moyce and Glenn Brown, welcomed the players.

    Value City!

They also revealed that there’s an added mystery package for the winner* of today’s tournament for the first full festival of the Poker Experience Tour event in Manchester, which runs from 7-10 August at Manchester’s 235 Casino. Part of the mystery of what the package includes has been revealed, including a main event seat and 4 hotel nights, plus much more.

Don’t ask me what the much more is, as the name of the prize suggests, the much more is a mystery. Win it and find out!

  • Saturday at the Beer Poker Festival

Welcome to the biggest day of the Beer Poker Festival London. It’s the weekend, it’s sunny outside, but there’s hot action art Genting Stratford today, with three opening flights of the £185 Double Mystery Bounty Main Event. And if you think that’s a mouthful, try saying it while downing a pint!

Over 400 players took part in the first four starting days, with 65 already through to tomorrow evening’s Day 2. Would you like to join them?

    Today’s Main Event Schedule

  • Main Event Status Quo

So, here we are and here we are and here we go
All-in a lot and hitting’ the board
Here we go, poker-ing all over the world!

Two of today’s three starting flights are still in progress, with one completed and done.

Day 1b was the first of the day, with cards sliding across the table from 2pm onwards. 101 players took their seats for this one, 16 of whom survived.

Day 1c, was busier, with 150 entries, progressing 23 players into the money stage of the tournament.

Day 1d was the turbo flight, starting at 9.30pm and was the quietest smallest field of the day, with 50 entries and 8 making it to Sunday’s Day 2.

Despite its small size, Day 1d Turbo was easily the loudest flight that took place on Friday, due to the presence of Will “9-high like a boss” Kassouf.

But it didn’t go quite the way he expected, the deck refused to obey his instruction to keep the river low, delivering an ace for his opponent’s AJ to better his 1010. He’ll be back for another pop or two on Saturday.

With half for the four starting flights already competed, there’s been a total of 419 entries, with 65 players already progressed to the next stage of the tournament. Three more flights take place on Saturday.

  • It Wasn’t Meant to Be

It was a short lived experience this time for me at the table in the Double Mystery Bounty Main Event of the Beer Poker Tour London.

I took my seat during the second level of the day, with blinds at 200/400 with a 400 running ante.

During my first lap of the table I was dealt these monsters..

    Q6

    nah

    J2

    nope

    Q4

    uhuh

    103

    pfft

    K2

I very nearly played this one.

    95

    give over

    43

Defended my big blind to this one, but the picture card heavy flop didn’t encourage me to continue.

Rather than getting too involved with any of this muck, i figured i’d just pay attention and see if I could suss out what kind of players I was up against.

The player in seat one was particularly aggressive, opening about 2-3 hands per round.

I continued to get similar monster hands for the next two levels, but found a few multi-pots that I could cheaply get into. But my hands didn’t really connect in any way with the boards and I went able to stay in any pots post flop.

Aware that I’m coming across like a rabbit in headlight, it’s hard not to notice that seat one was raising my big blind every time.

    Raabit in Headlights

I eventually chanced it against him, but not on the big blind, flopping top pair with A9on a board of 985. He checked to me, I bet, he raised, I shoved, he called.

But of course, this time he had it… 99

The turn was 6giving me a chance to chop if a seven would fall on the river. But alas, the last card to hit the felt was 8 and that, as they say, was that. Nine high, like a chump. Goodnight Jon Boy!

  • Schedule Announcement

Unfortunately, some events on the Beer Poker Tour schedule have had to be canceled. Here are the details.

  • Mystery Main Event News

The Beer Poker Tour Double Mystery Main Event is a very unique one, there are bounties on Day 1 as well as on Day 2. They’re not as big, mostly £5 or £10, but there’s a £200 top prize.

You can also win a free drink voucher simply by taking down a hand with 9-high and shouting out in true Will Kassouf style “Nine High like a Boss

Three flights today, the 2pm afternoon one is up to 96 entries with two hours of late reg to go.

The second flight of the day starts at 6pm and there’s news that a very big fish is having a go at this one. Yes, it’s me, I have a gun loaded with one bullet and I’m aiming high.

Today’s coverage will be lite, maybe a hand or two, if I last long enough. Will I end up on the same table as Will Kassouf? Will I take any Day 1 mystery bounties? Will I make it to the end of the flight?

The answers to these questions might be answered later on, but now I have to head off and read up on which starting hands to play and refresh myself of the rules of this game. Does a flush even beat a straight? 🤷‍♂️

On Thursday the first of eight starting days of the Beer Poker Tour’s unique £150 Double Mystery Bounty event took place. Eighteen players made it the end of the day, which stopped when the field was reduced to 15% of the 118 entries in the flight.

The player with the chip lead is Sukhdev Singh, who was the only person to cross the 1m barrier, but only just. Alexandru But also bagged a big stack, but is someway off the leader, on 730,000 and George Demetriou sits in third with 630,000.

  • Double Mystery Bounty Main Event Day 1a

The poker room here at Genting Stratford is very busy. In addition to the final day of the PLO, the first starting day of the Double Mystery Bounty has begun, with 60 players in their seats.

You might be wondering what “double” means? It doesn’t mean is that you will get double the prize (although that would be nice). What it actually means is detailed below.

If you’re reading this and it looks a bit wobbly, you’ve had too much beer!

  • Cheers! The Beer Poker Tour Returns to London

2025 Beer Poker Tour London Genting Casino Stratford

The Beer Poker Tour is back at Genting Casino Stratford in London from June 10–15, bringing its signature mix of creative tournaments, fun side games, and free beers. With a £100K guaranteed Double Mystery Main Event, quirky gimmicks like beer-for-quads, and our very own £150 poker.pro PLO4/5/6 tournament on the schedule, this festival promises action both on and off the felt. As the official media partner, poker.pro will be on-site with live updates and daily recaps.

Cheers!
