    Prizes:€78,375

Eric Wasylenko opened to 4,500 from the cutoff, and Yehven Pavlenko defended the big blind.

On the 832 flop, Pavlenko check-raised to 12,000 in the face of a continuation bet of 3,000 from Wasylenko.

Wasylenko called to see the 2 turn, which was quickly checked through to the 8 river.

Pavlenko took a reasonable period of time for thought, before he moved all in for around 90,000, leading to a snap-fold from Wasylenko.

    Yehven Pavlenko – 125,000
    Eric Wasylenko – 122,000

  • Kokkonen Doubles Through Andersen

    Jesse Kokkonen
    Level 13:1,000/2,000/2,000
    Entries:50/161
    Prizes:€76,475

Jesse Kokkonen entered in Day 2, and he wasted little time in shipping his 30,000 starting stack into the middle from early position.

Action folded to start of day chip leader Jorgen Andersen in the big blind, who made the call.

    Jesse Kokkonen: AJ
    Jorgen Andersen: A10

Kokkonen had Andersen pipped, and had his opponent drawing dead by the turn on the J9352 runout.

    Jesse Kokkonen – 63,000
    Jorgen Andersen – 230,000

  • Rozkalns Spikes River to Double

    Garijs Rozkalns
    Level 13:1,000/2,000/2,000
    Entries:48/159
    Prizes:€75,525

Cards were on their backs and stacks were in the middle, with Garijs Rozkalns all-in for 53,500 and at risk against Ralf Mikk.

    Garijs Rozkalns: KQ
    Ralf Mikk: AK

Rozkalns was crushed, and remained behind after the K85 flop gave both players top pair.

The 5 turn changed nothing, but Rozkalns binked the Q river to make two pair and secure an early double-up.

    Garijs Rozkalns – 107,000
    Ralf Mikk – 18,000

The OlyBet Showdown Spring Edition is already well underway at the Olympic Voodoo Casino, set in the heart of the historic Latvian capital, Riga, with players from all over the world flocking to the venue in search of poker action and glory.

Six champions have already been crowned, and the poker.pro reporting team will be on the floor covering all the action for the remainder of the festival as attention turns to the showpiece events, the €555 NLH Championship and the €1,100 Main Event.

Two starting flights of the €555 NLH Championship have already been completed, and we will pick up the action from the start of Day 2, which kicks off at noon today, 18 March. The starting flights attracted a total of 154 entries, creating a substantial €73,150 prize pool, with 43 players managing to negotiate twelve 40-minute levels to progress to Day 2.

Registration remains open until the start of Level 15. Players taking advantage of late registration will sit down with a starting stack of 30,000, with the clock set to 40-minute levels.

The event may surpass last year’s figures, when Jānis Meņģelis of Latvia overcame a 185-entry field to bag the trophy and first-place prize of €19,845,

Danish player Jorgen Anderson (285,000) takes the chip lead into Day 2 after storming to the top of the standings in Day 1b, and he is closely followed by two Latvian players, Daniels Viskina (260,000) and Edgars Hauks (207,000). Max Jafaripour of Sweden (200,000) topped the standings in Day 1a.

Opening Event champion Eric Wasylenko of Canada (148,500) is in a strong position to capture a duo of titles, while Linas Bulksas of Lithuania (100,000) is chasing another OlyBet NLH Championship title after triumphing in the equivalent event at the Kings of Vilnius festival. Matīss Celmiņš of Latvia (179,000) will be another dangerman.
