Ross Wilson Gets Another Win

Ross Wilson (R), Winner of E7 & Tina Nguyen (L), runner up in E7 After nearly two hours heads up, the PLO Double Board Bomb Pot is finally over. Tina Nguyen came into heads up a slight dog tonight, but she wasn’t about to go down gently.
They traded chops for the first 30 minutes of heads-up without much change in the chip lead, but Nguyen was able to chip up into the lead for a while. The pair talked chop at one point during heads up, but Wilson is in the running for player of the series (this is his second win with other cashes this week as well), and, while he didn’t have an issue chopping the money, he wasn’t interested in chopping up the points, so they played it out.

In the final hand, Nguyen was all-in before the flops with ace-jack-seven-five with diamonds against queen-jack-ten-eight with hearts for Wilson. Wilson’s two pair on the top and boat on the bottom, using queen-ten for both sides, scooped the pot for the win.
This will almost certainly put Wilson in the driver’s seat for Player of the Series, but I don’t know what the actual points are at the moment. I’ll try to get the current standings updated during the day tomorrow.

It checked to Tina Nguyen on the turns, and she fired 180k. That was enough to get her heads up against Said and she was ahead on the top with a straight, but behind the flopped kings for Said on the bottom.
Raji Said: K♠9♠7♥3♥

The field is now at 70 entries, for prizes just shy of $20k. Given the pace of entries at the moment, it’s looking like a final field size between 80 and 90 is in the cards.
-

Expect Some Action in the PLO Double Board Bomb Pot

Event #7: $450 PLO Double Board Bomb Pot ($400 + $50)
Date: May 11, 1 PM Blinds: 25 Minutes Starting Stack: 50k Late Entry: 9 Levels (~5:35 PM) Day 1 Ends: One-Day Event The PLO Double Board Bomb Pot game is a new addition to this series, and it promises to be action-packed, with a bomb pot on every hand of the game. That puts the whole table in every hand, at least to the two flops.
The action gets going at 1 PM, and blinds are 25 minutes. Note that this game doesn’t have small/big blinds due to the structure. Instead, the ante starts at 500 and increases with every level, and all players will pay an ante on every hand.
Entries will close at about 5:35 PM when they return from the 30-Minute dinner break following Level 9, and then they race to the trophy in this one-day event.
As this is the first time this format has run on the PPT, there is nothing to compare it to. However, with one or two notable exceptions, the excited buzz around the Pearl Room today about this game has been palpable, and it will be very interesting to see the field size.
I’ll be focusing on this as my main game on Monday, but expect me to be late to the floor.
