2026 Summer Super Stack – Event #2: $230 NLH

In the end, it came down to a pip between Austen Dao and Quinn Kannekens. In the final hand, both players flopped a king for top pair, but when the queen came on the turn, Kannekens was calling for a chop. A four on the river meant Dao’s kicker played, out-pipping Kannekens by one for the win.

Austen Dao raised to 80k in the final hand of Level 24, and Quinn Kannekens called to the 8♦3♣J♥ flop. They both checked to the 8♥ turn.

Kannekens fired 60k, then called when Dao raised to 150k. On the [invalid notations] river, Kannekens check-called for 300k, but mucked when Dai showed ace-eight for trip eights.

The action has moved to the Poker room to finish it out, as Chrome closes at 3 AM. Quinn Kannekens just picked off a bluff from Asten Dao to even the stacks out again. I picked up the action on the turn with the board reading Q♠10♣7♠8♦.

After a check from Kannekens, Dao bet 100k and got the call to the 10♠ river. He checked again, then hit the tank when Dao fired 200k. He finally called, and Dao showed K♦5♦, but Kannekens’ jack-seven was good.

Quinn Kannekens raised to 60k from the button, and Jarret Gray called from the small blind. Gray check-called for 40k on the 3♥8♦10♣ flop, and then he led for 70k on the 2♥ turn.

Kannekens called to the 4♦ river. Gray bet 100k, then called when Kannekens shoved 465k. Gray flopped top pair with ten-nine, but he was behind the pocket kings for Kannekens. That left Gray quite short, and he busted shortly after.

Kannekens and Austen Dao are roughly equal to start heads-up, with about 1.6 million each.

They are down to 3 left in the side game now after Karin Schulenberg ended her night in 4th place. She was the shortest stack of the final four.

Jarret Gray is now leading with about 1.4 million, Austen Dao has about 1.1 million, and Quinn Kennekens has 750k for three-way play.

A couple of hands later, Kannekens made it 50k to go from the middle, and Gray called from the cutoff. Kannekens bet 40k on the J♣2♥9♠ flop, but then mucked when Gray made it 120k.

Quinn Kannekens is the chip leader right now. He just took down a hand against Austen Dao after he raised to 40k under the gun, and Dao called from the button. On the [invalid notations] turn, but mucked when Kannekens bet 75k.

While the opening event of the series is limited entry, Event #2 is the first shot for the whole field at a Summer Super Stack win. One of the cheapest buy-ins of the series, Event #2 kicks off at 6 PM on Aug 5, and players get 25k in chips for their $230.

The registration desk is open for 9 levels, putting the end of entries at around 9:30 PM, 3.5 hours after the first hand is dealt. After that, they’ll play down to a winner before they end for the day. My main focus will be on the Seniors until it finishes, but I should get over for coverage of the endgame on this event.

In Summer 2025, Jim Berry & Ryan Truong chopped this one heads-up late in the evening. They made the chop shortly after Alicia Dodds ended her night in 3rd, and while Berry was in the lead and took the official win, there wasn’t much in it, and Berry’s first-place win was only worth about $100 more than Truong’s second, based on ICM. They battled through a field of 126 for just shy of $25k in total prizes.
