
The 2026 Novibet Greek Poker Odyssea €1,000 Main Event got underway with gusto yesterday, June 14, as Day 1a attracted a total of 100 entries at the stunning Vergina Theatro at Regency Casino, Thessaloniki.
The first of four starting flights saw 25 players qualify for Day 2, with Lorenzo Arduini of Italy the early pace-setter after bagging up an impressive 922,000. Arduini,, an EPT Main Event final tablist, sits in the top fifty in the Italian all-time money list, and boasts recorded results of over €1,000,000, including 15 victories.
Not far behind were former WSOPE Mini Main Event champion Vaggelis Kaimakamis of Greece (796,000), and 2024 EPT Prague Eureka Main Event champion Martin Tsvetanov of Bulgaria (756,000), in a high-quality podium with more than $2.5 million in recorded cashes between them.

The next opportunity for players to progress to Day 2 is Day 1b, kicking off at 4 p.m. on June 15. Players will receive a starting stack of 100,000 at blind level 300/500/500, with the clock set to 40-minute levels, and unlimited reentries permitted.
Late registration remains open until the end of Level 11 in each starting flight, with play scheduled to conclude at the end of Level 13. Day 2 qualifiers will return at 3 p.m on June 17 for Day 2, where the clock will be increased to 60-minute levels, while Days 3-4 will feature 75-minute levels.
There are also plenty of appetizing side events for players to enjoy in a packed schedule, including a €2,000 High Roller, a €350 Cuatro Progressive Knockout and a €115 Ladies Event, featuring €2,000 in added prizes.
