With around 25,000 in the middle on a board of J♠J♦9♥J♣, Venelin Pashev checked from the hijack to Leonidas Georgopoulos in the cutoff.
Georgopoulos fired out a bet of 20,000, and after some thought, Pashev called.
The 3♠ rolled off on the river to complete the board, and Pashev checked once more. Georgopoulos moved all in for 95,000, and Pashev sighed and sat back in his chair, looking pained.
Pashev, with around 90,000 behind, spent the next five minutes eyeballing his opponent, trying to get some kind of read. Georgopoulos’ gaze remained fixed straight ahead throughout, chewing gum and looking pretty relaxed.
Eventually, the clock was called, and as it got to five seconds, Pashev folded. Georgopoulos blew his cheeks with relief, and tabled Q♦10♠, earning a wry smile and tap of the table from Pashev.
Leonidas Georgopoulos – 160,000
Venelin Pashev – 90,000
