Day 2 of the €350 Mini Main Event has come to an end.
Norway’s Steffen Gjelseth opened to 1,500,000 on the Button, leaving himself with 90,000 behind. Seated right next to him, Estonian Silver Simulask re-shoved. Once the decision was back on Gjelseth, he made the call for his tournament life.

Gjelseth was in good shape to double up on the final table bubble, but the Poker Gods had other plans. Simulask flopped an open-ended straight draw on Q♥9♠10♥, and the 8♣ turn sealed the deal. After a ceremonial 3♦ river, Gjelseth bid farewell, and the remaining nine players are now bagging their chips. They’ll be united with them tomorrow at 12:00, when the final table kicks off.
The final table chip counts will be included in tomorrow’s preview post; they can be viewed already now on the WSOP Live app. Finland’s Jarmo Salonen could be the one who writes the story of the tournament; on Blinds 20,000/40,000, he was UTG with 5,000. That’s right; one eighth of a Big Blind. Now, against all odds, he’s at the final table. Were he to win it, it would be one heck of a feat.
