To say Glyn Gracias simply won the $450 NLH/PLO Mix would be an understatement. Gracias dominated the field on the way to her first PPT trophy. The event drew a total of 68 entries for a prize pool of $6,460. Gracias took home $9,300 for her efforts, besting Jarret Gray in heads-up play.
From early in the day, the field saw Nu Teliani and Gracias among the chip leaders. As play neared the bubble, both sat with nearly double the next closest player (310,000 and 296,000). Teliani found the first elimination in the money rivering trips against Bruce Drakes Aces. The trend continued, with Gracias finding a knockout on Michael St. Pierre-Porter with her Kings against Aces.
Gracias clashed with the other big stack, Mike Malm after the board ran out 3♦3♠10♥3♣A♥. Gracias’ Aces bested Malm’s Tens to give her the majority of the chips in play. From there it was short work, making a full house against Malm to bring play heads-up. Jarret Gray looked poised for a double-up when he got it in with A♠8♦ against Gracias’s A♦7♣. However, the 7♠ on the turn flipped the odds, and a blank river gave Gracias the trophy.
