“You have a seven?” he asked. “No,” Owen replied. “Wow, a ten,” Oprea continued. “I have better than a ten,” Owen declared. “Oh, wow, you’re strong!” Oprea seemed surprised. Owen talked the hand through, and it became evident that he couldn’t imagine Oprea bluffing in this spot. “4,000 is not that much,” Oprea said, perhaps trying to get his opponent to call. Eventually, Owen made his decision.
“If you’re bluffing, good job,” Owen said as his cards hit the muck. “Of course I’m bluffing,” a joyful Oprea replied, revealing his J♣3♣. He collected the pot, and he’s one of the biggest stacks as Level 3 is about to begin.
