One of the biggest perks of live poker is that it gives players a justification to travel the world. Throughout the years, live poker adventures have been synonymous with exotic, exciting locations. While that isn’t always the case, it’s a scenario that all poker players want to experience.
Greece is overall a popular destination, not only for poker players. That being said, all live poker enthusiasts would be very wise to circle the dates June 10-19 in the calendar. The massive Regency Casino Thessaloniki will then roll out the carpet for what will be one of the biggest live poker events on Greek soil in 2026. The 2026 Greek Poker Odyssea has all the presumptions to be the live poker experience of a lifetime, and it’s an event that all players should seek to attend sometime during their career.

Live poker in Greece is just as hot as the weather they’re having, and it’s scheduled to reach its peak at the beginning of the summer. The 2026 Greek Poker Odyssea will be played June 10-19 at Regency Casino Thessaloniki, a 10-day live poker festival that is destined to be the pinnacle of the 2026 Greek poker calendar. This isn’t just something cliché that this poker.pro live reporter is making up on the spot; in fact, the poker.pro trio Jason Glatzer, Glenn Brown, and Christoffer Karlén were all on-site in Thessaloniki for last year’s event, experiencing the unique and utopian bonanza on a first-hand basis.

The 2026 Greek Poker Odyssea tournament schedule is as tempting as a seven-course tasting menu at a three-star Michelin restaurant. Let’s start with the Créme De La Créme: the €1,000 Main Event. The tournament has four starting-day flights, kicking off with the first one on June 14. All in all, it’s a four-day affair, and a winner will be crowned on June 19, i.e., the final day of the festival. The prize pool is estimated to reach a mouth-watering €500,000. A comparison to last year’s Main Event has to be arbitrary; in 2025, the festival was “only” one week long, with a €600 Main Event buy-in. Still, the estimate for that particular tournament was €250,000, a prize pool that was shattered, seeing as the final number read €280,360. A five-way deal was made, and, in the end, it was Anastasios Vardalis who claimed the €34,536 first-place prize. Considering the buy-in is nearly doubled this year – and that the Greek live poker scene is hotter than ever – it’s an educated guess that the prize pool will exceed the aforementioned €500,000.
Another golden gem on the schedule this year is the €500 Mini Main Event. This is also a tournament players will recognize from the 2025 Greek Poker Odyssea (however, the buy-in was then €250). It’s a three-day event with three starting-day flights, and just as is the case for the Main Event, the structure is great with length levels and a whopping 100,000 starting-day stack, offering all competitors the opportunity to put all of their poker skills on full display throughout the tournament.

The whole 10-day circus will kick off with the €250 Beat the Pros PKO. This tournament features €120 bounties, making an aggressive strategy with the purpose of scoring knockouts very crucial. It’s a two-day event; considering this event is scheduled from the get-go on June 10, it’s safe to say the festival will be off to an action-packed start. More bounty action: the €400 Monsterstack Mystery Bounty is a two-day event that ought to see both chips and cards flying, featuring €170 bounties.
Again, the tournament schedule during the 2026 Greek Poker Odyssea is just sublime, and the three previously mentioned tournaments aside, there are also several side events, including both Texas NLH and PLO affairs, as well as the €115 Ladies Event and the €2,000 High Roller (which is another three-day event). Check out the full schedule below and get excited for a week in poker paradise.

Qualify Online on iPoker Network
There are satellites running on-site at Regency Casino Thessaloniki for the €500 Mini Main Event and the €1,000 Main Event, but those who want to secure their Greek poker adventure for the cheapest prize possible would be very wise to check out the online qualifiers on the iPoker network (Redstar Poker or Champion Poker). The value at these qualifiers is, well, ridiculous, to say the least.
Starting off, right now, there is a special campaign running, where players can compete for €2,300 packages for just €2. Yes, that is correct. These aren’t qualifiers, they are satellites; for just €2, the packages can be yours. To make things even more juicy, there are two packages guaranteed per satellite, which seem to be running many times daily. It’s rare to see this kind of value.
Apart from that insanely good campaign, players can compete for the same packages through a four-step process, with the first step starting at just €0.01. Players can, if they want, choose to buy straight into Step 4 for €150, where three packages are guaranteed. The cheapest way, though, is to start from the centroll.
The iPoker packages for the 2026 Greek Poker Odyssea include the €1,000 Main Event buy-in, a five-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki (check-in June 14, check-out June 19), and €295 for expenses.

A Unique Venue
One of the coolest things about the Greek Poker Odyssea is the venue it’s played at. While all players should type “Regency Casino Thessaloniki” into their GPS, the tournaments are actually being played at the adjacent Vergina Theatro. To borrow a quote from what poker.pro live reporter Karlén wrote after the 2025 Greek Poker Odyssea:
“A historic theater filled with poker tables was such a powerful scene. It was truly remarkable, and perhaps, the battles fought out with ceramic chips and ace-king suited were not so much different than the mighty performances usually seen on that particular stage.

Live poker in a majestic theatre, a tournament schedule that leaves nothing to wish for, absolutely sublime structures, juicy prize pools, the exotic city of Thessaloniki…indeed, the presumptions are all there for the 2026 Greek Poker Odyssea to be, as previously stated, the poker adventure of a lifetime. All players traveling to Greece for the event are guaranteed to have the time of their life, and the poker.pro editorial office is beyond excited to be on-site at Regency Casino Thessaloniki and Vergina Theatro to cover all the action from the event. It’s going to be a live poker event to remember for ages. Let’s round this article off with a humble suggestion: while in Thessaloniki, make sure to order seabass at a seaside restaurant after winning a tournament. There is no better way to end your night after a stellar day at the poker tables.
