Worton & Stewart Take First Trophies from PPT #3

The opening day of action is now in the books for the 2026 Pure Poker Tour Series #3, and there were a couple of familiar faces atop the standings to end the opening day of play. Brett Worton is no stranger to the Seniors trophy, picking up his third Seniors trophy from the PPT, while PPT #2 Player of the Series and Main Event winner Cam Stewart picked up where he left off in May, scoring the NLH/PLO Mix trophy for a solid start to another deep PoS run.

Stewart now leads the PPT #3 PoS race with 110 points for the win, with Anthony Madden in 2nd with 77 points. There was a 5-way chop at the end of the Seniors, meaning the points for that one were chopped, with the top five seniors finishers each getting 72.48 points for the chop. With a bigger field expected in Event #3, the winner of that on Sunday will likely move ahead of Stewart’s score, but there are also a couple of side events between now and then, so the race is still wide open early in the series.

Brett Worton Takes 3rd Seniors Crown

  • Entries: 145
  • Prizes: $41,325
  • Winner: Brett Worton (*$6,500 in 5-way deal)

Event #1: $340 Seniors First 50+ ($300 + $40)

Breet Worton is no stranger to deep runs in the 50+ game on the Pure Poker Tour. He was on the top end of a five-way deal to end the night with his third PPT Seniors trophy. Larry Quon, Pam MacNaughton, Jody Fayant, and Brian Fleming were also part of the end-of-night deal, with all players except Fleming pocketing $6,500. Fleming took $4,110 for 5th in the deal.

Worton took down the November 2022 & the November 2025 Seniors games, along with three other final tables in PPT Seniors games. He also has a runner-up finish in a Seniors game from the WSOP-C in Calgary as well as several other seniors cashes from around the world, so Worton knows his way around the 50+ games.

Cam Stewart Picks Up Where He Left Off in May with NLH/PLO Win

  • Entries: 78
  • Prizes: $29,640
  • Winner: Cam Stewart ($10,080)

Event #2: $450 NLH/PLO Mixed ($300 + $40)

The last time we saw Cam Stewart on the Pure Poker Tour, he was winning the May Main Event and securing the Player of the Series honours at the same time. He doesn’t seem to have lost a step over the summer, however, as he hit the ground running in PPT #3 with a win in the first open event of the series.

Stewart took down the game over 78 entries for a bit more than $10k from the prize pool of nearly $30k. Anthony Maddon, who is one of the PLO wizards in the field, took second, with Cory Rotar claiming the 3rd podium spot.

The win puts Stewart in the driver’s seat for the PoS race in this series, but it’s still early, and there’s lots of poker left to play before we have a solid idea of the PoS race standings. Stewart currently has a lead of more than 30 points over Madden, but he’ll need to add some more deep runs to secure it. Stewart was seen playing Event #3, Day 1a, so it looks like he’s going to be the one to beat again this time around.
