2026 Spring Super Stack – Event #9: $400 H.O.R.S.E.

Once they got heads-up, the final two players decided to make a deal. Kurtis Ruhl had the big stack and secured $5,800, leaving $4,257 for James Ivanich. They didn’t play it out, and Ruhl took the win with the big stack after leading through ost of the game.

Oliver got a 4♦ to 5♣ for Ivanich, and Oliver called a bet of 25k. [invalid notations] for Ivanich brought a bet of 50k from Ivanich, a raise all-in from Oliver, and a call from Ivanich.

Oliver drew a nine and a queen to hit queens with no low, while Ivanich pulled a seven and an ace, for aces and no low, to scoop the pot.

That leaves Ruhl heads up with Ivanich, with Ruhl holding a slight lead.

Kurtis Ruhl still has the big stack right now, playing more than half the chips in play.

I missed the action while I was writing Benny Sarnelli’s bubble hand, but Essam Saadeddine was left short after that hand and busted for fourth place shortly after.

Benny Sarnelli just bubbled the money in the HORSE game. They were playing Omaha8 and, after James Ivanich and Essam Saadeddine both called, Sarnelli put his whole stack in, making it 30k.

Ivanich & Saadeddine both called to the K♦6♦A♣, and they both checked to the 10♦ turn. Saadeddine bet 40k and Ivanich called to the 6♣ river. Saadeddine check-called for 40k, but his K♥10♦5♣4♦ was no good against the nut diamonds of Ivanich with A♦8♦8♣6♠.

Sarnelli was drawing to the nut low after the flop with Q♣3♦3♥2♦, but bricked the low. He also found the flush for a high hand, but his nut low diamonds were no match for Ivanich’s nut high.

Despite being the bubble, Sarnelli still earned a bit of cash in this one, as the final five players agreed to a bubble deal.

In a limit Hold’em hand that was the last hand of the previous level, Benny Sarnelli had the short stack, and he limped in from the cutoff. Kurtis Ruhl raised his button to 30k, and after it folded back to Sarnelli, he put in the rest of his stack to 44k. Ruhl called it off for a fair fight between his K♣4♣ and J♥10♦ for Sarnelli.

Garry Chan busted in 7th place just before I took the pictures, and Remy Bhend ended his day on the soft bubble shortly after the pictures. They are now on the hard bubble to the money with 5 players left.

The HIRSE field is down to 7 now after Vince Chahley was the first off the final table. He was the short stack at the break, and his money went in during a stud8 hand when he was showing jacks face up for the high. Three other players were still in the hand, and they checked it down through seventh street.

James Ivanich capped Chahley’s jacks with queens for the high, while Benny Sarnelli’s 87 took the low pot, and Chahley was sent home.

Kutis Ruhl is leading the way at the break following Level 15. He has 345k in front of him now, with no one else at the table even playing 300k.

The HORSE rotation includes limit hold’em, limit Omaha hHi/lo, limit razz, limit stud, and limit stud hi/lo, and they’ll play 8 hands of each game before moving forward in the rotation.

Last summer, Jerod Dobson and Kimberly Durham chopped the prizes in the HORSE in a game that drew 58 entries for prizes of $19,561. Meanwhile, in the Spring, mixed game beast Thomas Taylor took down the HORSE game over 32 entries for prizes of $10,772.
