Seated on th Button, Luka Sorainen min-raised to 160,000. Valentin Imperatore decided to defend his Big Blind.
Action went check-check on the 7♠8♣3♣ flop. Imperatore then fancied a 140,000 bet on the Q♥ turn, and was faced with a 400,000 raise from Sorainen. Imperatore made the call, and the dealer revealed the 8♥ river. Imperatore bet 160,000, and after some consideration, Sorainen made the call.
Imperatore tabled Q♣6♠, and Sorainen acknowledged the winning hand. Left with 500,000, Sorainen soon got his stack in the middle pre-flop, and was up against Imperatore once again.
Luka Sorainen: A♥A♠
Valentin Imperatore: A♣9♣
Sorainen was in good shape, but the 3♣4♣3♦ flop was quite scary. Sorainen maintained his lead on the J♥ turn, but the brutal 2♣ river ultimately ended the prominent Finnish player’s tournament life. Imperatore claimed the pot, while Sorainen bid farewell in twenty-first place for €7,980.
