Stefan Maloney looked like he was down & out in second place after Yogesh Kamble nearly felted him. Maloney lost a virtual flip with queen-nine suited against ace-eight for Kamble, leaving him with just 35k behind.

But the chip & a chair meme actually comes true once in a while. Admittedly, Maloney had more than a single chip, but his stack was barely 1bb when he started his comeback run. A few doubles later, and Maloney was on the big stack.

The final money went in when Maloney flopped top pair against the open-ended draw for Kamble. Two bricks to run out the board left Maloney’s pair of nines best, and he staged the comeback of the series, and probably the year as well.

Benny Sarnelli hit the rail for 3rd place tonight, and is guaranteed $4,105 from the deal. That left Stefan Maloney & Yogesh Kamble heads up, and they’ve been grinding it out. It looked like the game might have been over a few hands ago, when Maloney lost a flip and was left with 35k.

Maloney has since doubled a few times, and he’sright back in the mix with close to a million.

Ndumiso Gama ended his run in 4th place today, and the final three players just cut an ICM deal. Stefan Maloney is guaranteed $3,965, Benny Sarnelli took $4,105, and Yogesh Kamble took $4,605 for the big stack. That leaves $300 and the trophy on the table to play for.

That puts more than $12.5k into the prizes so far, but I expect entries to be pretty brisk right up until 9:30 when the entry desk closes. I’m not sure if this game will hit 100 entries, based on the current pace, but I’d expect at least 70 by the time entries close in just under an hour.

At the moment, the Main Event Day 1b is filling most of the Social room, with just two empty tables, so there’s no room at the inn for a second game here.

The penultimate trophy at the 3rd edition of the 2026 Pure Poker Tour kicks off at 6 PM on Saturday evening. Players get 25k to start (note that the structure incorrectly says 40k, but the 25k stack size on the schedule is the correct value), with 20-minute levels throughout the game (15-minutes heads up).

Entries for the game are open for 9 levels. Including the breaks, that should put the last chance to enter at about 9:30 PM, when they sit down for Level 10. After that, they’ll play down to a winner.

In May, this game and Thursday night’s Bounty game were switched, with this game running on Thursday and the bounty on Saturday. Denis Mujcin was the winner in May, taking it down heads up over Malcom Bolger. The game got 72 entries in May, for prizes of $20,520, and Mujcin pocketed $6,975 for the win.
