2026 Summer Super Stack – Event #10: $230 NLH

It took more than 10 hours to finish out the $230 NLH game, but once the final seven players moved to the poker room at 3 AM, things went a bit quicker to start. Within 30 minutes of the move, they were down to 3 players after John Foley ended his run in 4th place.

Ramaz Haymour followed shortly after, setting up heads-up between Maru Somers and DJ Sharma. Sharma had done most of the damage to that point, knocking out all the players once they got to poker, until Somers sent Haymour out.

That gave Somers the lead going into the final phase, but Sharma quickly chipped up to a slight lead before Somers rivered an ace to win the race against Sharma’s jacks for a big double. That gave her the lead, and it wasn’t long before it all went in, on a reversal of sorts.

It was a near repeat of the Somers’ big double, with her playing the eights this time, and Sharma on the ace-overs. After the flop, Somers was in counterfeit danger, but she ran clean to the river when the board paired treys at the end.

Maru Somers raised to 130k, and DJ Sharma called to the K♣4♦A♣ flop. SHarma check-called for 150k to see J♦ on the turn. He check-called again for 200k to the 2♥ river.

Sharma checked again, then tank-called when Somers bet 400k. Sharma mucked when Somers tabled queen-ten for turned Broadway.

Maru Somers is on about 2 million, to 1.4 million for DJ Sharma.

Maru Somers raised the button to 200k, then called it off when Ramaz Haymour shoved the small blind. Haymour had [invalid notations] against pocket eights for Somers.

Haymour looked very good on the flop after flopping a straight draw with his ace, when three overs to Somers’ pair came, but the rest of the K♠Q♣10♣5♦10♥ bricked out and Somers’ eights held. She had him stacked by about 100k, and Somers now has the lead heads up against DJ Sharma.

Most of the damage happened when DJ Sharma shoved blind, and John Foley snapped him off with pocket tens. It was Sharma Time, though, as he woke up with ace-king of hearts when he finally looked at his hand.

Sharma bricked the flop, but turned an ace to double through Foley. That left Foley short, and he busted the next hand when Ramaz Haymour’s queens held against Foley’s fumes with jack-nine.

John Foley raised to 150k under the gun before Ramaz Haymour shoved for 255k. DJ Sharma reshoved the big blind for more, and Foley tank-folded pocket tens face up, telling Sharma “I hope you have something”.

It was ace-eight for Haymour against ace-nine for Sharma. It looked like Sharma was going to hold with the pipped kicker after hitting two pair, but Haymour went runner-runner straight on A♦9♥5♠6♠7♦.

The action has been brisk since they moved to poker, but it’s been all Sharma Time. He sent Nan Cui to the rail for 5th place when his ace-ten rivered the ten against ace-seven of diamonds for Cui.

It was blind on blind when DJ Sharma shoved the small, and Glenn Tarasoff called off the short stack with six-four. Sharma was on ace-queen and flopped trip aces to secure the deal.

Pete Fylyma got his money in with pocket queens, and DJ Sharma called it off with more chips, and ace-four of hearts. Fylyma faded the flop, but Sharma Time turned the ace and held to send Fylyma out in 7th.

The players moved to the poker room at the start of this level.

The field is down to 7 after Jordan Banfield hit the rail for 8th place while I was writing the previous hand. Banfield is a local stream on Twitch, now representing CoinPoker.

Pete Fylyma raised to 100k from the hijack, and Ramaz Haymour called from the small blind. Haymour checked the 9♥8♦5♠ flop, then tank-called when Fylyma shoved 105k.

Fylyma was on jacks, with Haymour drawing to an ace or the backdoor straight with A♣7♣. The [invalid notations] runout wasn’t what Haymour needed, and Fylyma’s jacks scored him a double.

Allan Hobbins was the short stack, and his money went in with a suited ace under the gun. DJ Sharma was on the button, and woke up with “Suited Crosby” ( 8♠7♠ ) and called it off.

The board ran 5♥2♠9♣7♣2♦, and Sharma turned his 7 for the win.

Sharma said he was on a monster that got bigger on the 6♠7♣K♥ flop, and after a check from Somers, he bet 66k. Somers was quiet through the whole hand, and check-shoved on him for just shy of 300k. That left Sharma a bit confused, but he mucked, musing that Somers might have been on seven-six. Mike Malm, who is here railing Sharma, countered that he thought it was king-queen.

Somers didn’t show any cards to help resolve the conflict.

Two quick busts once they got heads up have brought the side game down to 11 remaining. Terry Langdon had tens, while John Foley had kings. After a nine-high flop, Foley checked, Langdon shoved his overpair, and Foley called it off with the bigger pair.

Jody Fayant was all in shortly after on the other table, looking for diamonds with K♦4♦. He flopped two diamonds, but bricked the rest of the runout, while Pete Fylyma’s ace-king hit an ace to secure the win and send Fayant out in 13th place.

The prizes are posted for the side game tonight, with an extra entry found when they counted the money. 136 entries generated a prize pool of $26,486, with 14 players taking a share of that later tonight.

Entries are closed on the side game, and it’s now the biggest one-day event of the series. There are 135 entries on the board at the end of registration, for prizes of $26,291. If those numbers hold, it should mean 14 paid spots later tonight, with a top prize of more than $6k.

Just over 30 minutes remain in entries for the side game tonight, with the field already nearing 120 entries. The prizes now are just shy of $23k, but I expect another 10-20 entries before it closes, so this game may well end as the biggest one-day game of the series so far. Currently, that record is shared between Event #5 & Event #7, both of which got 133 entries.

The side game players are on their first break of the day, with the field at 88. That puts the prizes over $12k and climbing, and it looks like this game will top out well above 100 entries, likely pushing to 130 or more.

The players will be back at the felt shortly for Level 6, with four more levels, plus a break, until entries close.

The Monday night side is another $230 NLH. The cards go in the air at 6:00 PM, and players start the day with 25k in chips.

Blinds are 20 minutes throughout the game, and there are 9 levels to buy in or rebuy. The final entries should be at about 9:30 PM, when they sit down for Level 10. After that, it’s a run to the win late Monday night.

This game will be my second priority for Monday, after the HORSE, but I don’t expect the HORSE to go super-late, so I should get a fair amount of time on this one later tonight.

Last Summer, Darcy Hafso and Chad Hallett chopped this game up at the end over 140 entries for total prizes of $26,600. In the Spring of this year, Sam Brouillard and Sebastian Crema cut a deal after making it past 109 entries to chop the top two prizes of a pool worth $21,228
