2026 Summer Super Stack – Event #5: $340 NLH Progressive Knockout

After almost 12 hours at the tables, heads up went pretty quickly. Dean Morrone had the chip lead going into heads-up against Raymond Trieu after sending Dale Campbell (4th) and Brandon Leys (3rd) home. Trieu doubled up once from 225k, but that was as close as he was able to get.

The final hand saw the money go in preflop with Trieu on ace-deuce against king-eight for Morrone. Trieu found a deuce on the flop, but Morrone found an eight. The rest of the board was bricks, and Morrone’s pair of eights took it down.

Trieu got an additional $1,500 in bounties today, for $5,584 total, while Morrone’s final bounty total was $5,400, for a total of $9,484.

Live by the cooler, die by the cooler. After Jody Fayant cracked Ross Wilson’s aces to send him home, it was all downhill for Fayant. He sent a double across to Martin Celune when his ace-king could get there, then he ran his kings into the aces of Dale Campbell, and this time couldn’t crack them.

Fayant go $650 in bounties to add to his $557 payout tonight.

Ross Wilson ran into a cooler tonight against Jody Fayant, ending his night in 10th place. He was in the small blind and faced a shove from Fayant.

Wilson snapped it off with aces against queens for Fayant. Fayant spiked a queen on the flop, and while Wilson turned a spade draw with the ace of spades, the paired turn also gave Fayant the boat, leaving Wilson looking for an ace for a better pair. Instead, he hit his flush on the river, which was no good by then.

The PKO action gets going at 6 PM on Friday evening, and players sit down with 20k in chips. Blinds are 25 minutes long, and players have 8 levels to get into the game or rebuy. That should put the final chance to enter at about 9:50 PM. After that, they’ll play to a winner before the end of the day.

Earlier this year in the Spring series, Wayne Hoffert took down the top PKO prize in a heads-up battle with Todd Oakley. They prevailed over 76 entries to take the top prizes from $21,660 ($10,260 prizes, $11,400 bounties) in total. They chopped at the end of the game, each taking the same PKO payout and keeping their bounties.

In last year’s Summer PKO game, Ismar Delic-Ibukic & Will Smith chopped the prizes at the end, keeping their bounties. They were the top two from 114 entries with prizes of $32,490 ($15,390 prizes, $17,100 bounties). My guess is that the 2026 Summer field will come in somewhere in the middle of those two events.
