Mike Kim went pretty much wire-to-wire on the final table with the chip lead. He had half the chips in play four-handed, and about three-quarters by the time there were three left.
He was very active with opens or calls on most hands in the endgame, and more often than not, he had the goods when the showdown came, or he forced others off the pot with hit raises. Clubs were working hard for him tonight as he won two key pots in the late stages with club flushes, both with the turn and river getting him there. He also boated up to send Nicholas Milkovich out in 4th place.
It was his second club flush that got him the win over API leader Mike Malm. Both players had premiums and the money was in. After a bust year, Kim hasn’t been around as much in recent series than he was a year or two ago, but he’s come out this time and showing he’s still very much in the game.
