  • The Most Entertaining Tournament of the Schedule Returns in the Form of the Tag Team Event

The Tag Team event is underway with 12 teams registering immediately. Among the field are regulars Rob Lothian and Josephine Brown. This fan favourite event offers a lighter side of play with players choosing partners to play the event together. Every team has 5 cards to swap out partners and you can talk to your partner, but it has to be loud enough for the table to hear.

  • Team Fun is Set for an “Edmonton Saturday Night”

    Date:Jul 26, 6 PM
    Blinds:20 Minutes
    Starting Stack:20k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~9:15 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

“Well the girls are out to bingo and the boys are gettin stinko, We think no more of Inco on a Sudbury Saturday Night.” So goes the opening to the Stompin’ Tom classic “Sudbury Saturday Night”. It’ll be an Edmonton Saturday night, and both the boys and the girls will likely be playing some bingo, and definitely gettin’ stinko, as the Team game descends on the Pure Casino Edmonton poker room.

The action starts at 6 PM, and teams get 20k in chips to start. Blinds are 20 minutes long, and teams swap players every round. Five switch tickets let the teams either swap their own teammate in or out, or force another team at their table to swap (switch tickets can only be played in between hands). Entries are open for 9 levels, with the final chance to enter or rebuy at about 9:15 PM.

This is almost always way more party than poker, and I expect this game to be no different. Expect the poker room to be loud and the drinks to be flowing – the boys and girls are gettin’ stinko on an Edmonton Saturday night.
