Devon Jacobs Wins Event #5 for $8,279
Devon Jacobs had to come from behind tonight against DJ Sharma to take the win. He started heads up at a disadvantage, but a big cooler shifted the momentum. Sharma shoved with ace-ten with a slight lead, but ran into ace-queen for Jacobs. The queen played and Sharma was down to less than 200k.
That didn’t make it any easier for Jacobs though. Sharma switched up his game and started shoving nearly every hand, putting Jacobs on his heels, forcing him to fold after raises and calls multiple times. Sharma had nearly gotten back to even when his shove strategy failed for him.
Jacobs woke up with king-queen, and called off. Sharma was live with six-four, but the Jacobs held the day for the win, taking his first PPT trophy and denying Sharma his second.

DJ Sharma Out in 2nd Place for $5,710
Level: 27 (40000/80000/80000) Entries: 1/116 Prizes: $29,754 DJ Sharma DJ Sharma came one player away from his second PPT trophy tonight, but unfortunately, Sharma Time wasn’t to be in this one. He ended up heads up against Devon Jacobs, and started heads up with the chip lead. The pair found a cooler, however, and Sharma was on the wrong end of it when his ace-ten was capped by ace-queen.
That left him on fumes, but he put on a hell of a comeback effort. He switched up his game and started shoving nearly every hand, and managed to chip back up to close to even after several raise-folds or call-folds from Jacobs. That’s a great strategy heads up … right up until it’s not. After several pots to Sharma with preflop shoves, Jacobs woke up with a caller. Sharma was live with six-four against king-queen, but a king on the board sealed his fate tonight. Jacobs was still the leader, and Sharma had to settle for second.

Sharma On Fumes
Level: 26 (30000/60000/60000) Entries: 2/116 Prizes: $29,754 DJ Sharma had chipped up into a slight lead until he shoved ace-ten and got called by Devon Jacobs with ace-queen. Jacobs held and left Sharma on about 200k. Sharma doubled back the next hand, but he’s still got a hill to climb.
-
Jacobs Takes the Lead

Devon Jacobs bet out 60k and Sharma called to see J♣ on the river. Jacobs fired 100k and, after a bit of a tank, Sharma slid in the call but mucked when Jacobs chowed king-three for the turned straight.
-
Ruslan Baldzhy Out in 3rd Place for $3,710
Level: 25 (25000/50000/50000) Entries: 2/116 Prizes: $29,754 Ruslan Baldzhy It’s now heads up between DJ Sharma with the lead and Devon Jacobs. Jacobs just sent Ruslan Baldzhy to the rail in 3rd when his ace-six held over ace-three. Sharma is playing about 1.4 million to 800k for Jacobs.

Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 3/116 Prizes: $29,754 Pav Braich is on the rail, cheering on DJ Sharma, but he was a little confused by the most recent hand. It was blind on blind between Sharma and Ruslan Baldzhy after Sharma called pre and Baldzhy checked his option.
Sharma fired 40k on the 9♣J♦5♣ flop and Baldzhy called to the K♥ turn. Sharma fired another min-bet and got the call to the river 10♠ where both players checked and then both revealed jack-deuce for a chop.
“What the fuck did I just watch?” Braich asked from the rail as the dealer was chopping the pot.

Event #5 on the Side for Saturday Night
2025 Pure Poker Tour Series #3 – Event #5: $300 NLH ($270 + $30)
Date: July 19, 6 PM Blinds: 20 Minutes Starting Stack: 20k Late Entry: 9 Levels (~9:30 PM) Day 1 Ends: One-Day Event The side game on Saturday is Event #5: $300 NLH ($270 + $30). The action kicks off at 6 PM Saturday night with players getting 20k in chips to start.
Blinds will increase every 20 minutes throughout the day, and there are 9 levels of late entry. That should put the final chance to enter at about 9:30 PM, just as they sit down for Level 10 action.
This will be my second priority on Saturday, with most of my early attention on Day 1b of Event #3. Once that event bags, I’ll move over to this one to finish my night, but if 1b is anything like 1a, they could go pretty late in E3 as the Day 1a bubble went for almost 2 full levels.
