Eric Taylor Wins PLO Deepstack Hyper After Chop

Shortly after Eric Taylor doubled to even, he and Nate Habte decided to chop the money, each securing $4,533, and play it out for the trophy. Taylor took the trophy down shortly after when he turned a king-high straight against Habte. They played a bit more than 7 hours before the winner was decided.

Taylor Evens it Up
Level: 26 (30000/60000/60000) Entries: 2/57 Prizes: $14,621 Eric Taylor isn’t going down lightly, and he’s just evened out the stacks in a big hand. He’d been chippin away at Nate Habte’s lead for a while, and he found a huge spot for a double to tie.
Taylor potted to 180k preflop and Hatbe called to see A♦Q♣9♣. Habte check-called for 220k to see 7♦ on the turn. Havte checked again, then called when Taylor shoved his remaining chips. Habte was looking for clubs with K♣J♣10♦4♥ against Taylor’s A♥10♣8♣4♥.
Taylor was ahead with top pair, but Habte had flush outs for the win. The river 6♥ was a brick, however, Taylor doubled to even stacks.

Varan Sidhu
Matheus Araujo Varan Sidhu was the big stack a few minutes ago, but after a huge pot against Nate Habte when Habte flopped top two against a pair and a gutty for Sidhu, the biggest pot of the night sent Habte to the lead and left Sidhu on fumes. He doubled up once, then got his final 100k in while Matheus Araujo was forced all in from the small blind.
Habte called then both off with the big stack, and took it down when he hit a straight to cap both Sidhu and Araujo. That left Araujo in 5th ($1,025) and Varan Sidhu in 4th ($1,535).
 -
Bewar Hussein Out in 6th Place for $585
Level: 22 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 5/57 Prizes: $14,621

Benny Sarnelli was the bubble tonight, ending his run in 7th in a brutal ICM spot where 4 players were under 5 big blinds. Bewar Hussein took the first paid spot of $585, leaving the field with 5 players left vying for the title.

Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 28/57 Prizes: $14,621 Entries are now closed for Event #4: PLO Deepstack Hyper and the final field looks to be 57 entries. I’m still waiting for the prizes to get confirmation of that number, but if it holds, it should mean 6 players sharing in $14,621 in prizes later in the night.
 -
Nearing 50 Entries
Level: 10 (1000/1500/1500) Entries: 30/48 Prizes: $12,312 There are about 10 minutes to play in Level 10, with entries set to close at the start of Level 12. That leaves about 40 minutes to enter this game. The field is now at 48 entries for prizes of a bit more than $12k, but that number is likely to hit at least 60 before it all closes.
 -
30 Entries to Start Level 4
Level: 4 (200/400/400) Entries: 27/30 Prizes: $7,695 The PLO Deepstack Hyper has just completed three levels of play with the field now at 30 entries. That puts the prizes at $7,695 right now. Among the players fighting for the prize are Zach York, who won a NLH/PLO mix recently on the PPT, Kenny Gooding, Elle Brezina, Rhonda Fiveland, Stefan Maloney, Darrell Moore, Justin Pennell Brady O’Hara, Benny Sarnelli, Julius Roque, and defending champion Tony Comely.
 -
PLO Deepstack Hyper is Underway
Level: 1 (100/100/100) Entries: 13/13 Prizes: $3,335 The side game for Friday night is now underway in the Pearl showroom with 13 entries on the board to start the game. That puts the prizes now over $3k, but I expect pretty heavy action at the buy-in desk over the next couple of hours. There were 80 entries for this game in July, and I expect today’s numbers to be similar.

PLO Deepstack Hyper on the Side for Friday Night

Event #4: $300 PLO Deepstack Hyper ($270 + $30)
Date: Sep 19, 6 PM Blinds: 15 Min Starting Stack: 50k Late Entry: 11 Levels (~9:!5 PM) Day 1 Ends: One-Day Event The side game on Friday night is the PLO Deepstack Hyper. This unusual combination has seen a lot of interest since it was introduced a few series ago, with 80 entries in the pool on the last one.
The action starts at 6 PM, with all players getting 50k in chips. The action will be fast, however, with 15-minute blinds throughout the game. That tends to lead to big pots and lots of action as the blinds quickly catch up with the deep stacks.
Players can enter or rebuy this one until about 9:15, at the start of Level 12, and they’ll keep playing until a winner is crowned.

Tony Comely, winner of E4 In July, it was Tony Comely who won it all, after a heads-up deal with Ron Lauzon. Tony Pioquinto was 3rd in a game that saw more than $20k in prizes.
I’ll mostly be focusing on Event #3 until they bag, so I likely won’t be watching this one very closely until the endgame. It also tends to play pretty quickly, and in past series, it’s been finishing up around the same time as Event #3, so I may not get much time to cover this one.
