    Level:28 (50000/100000/100000)
    Entries:1/280
    Prizes:$133,000

The final three players decided on a deal that saw chip leader Michael Bladwin secure $27,500 and the win, while Tony Ma and JJ Johnstone each earned $18,500 today, with Ma taking second place and Johnstone on the bronze medal spot.

  • Baldwin has More than Half the Chips

    Level:28 (50000/100000/100000)
    Entries:3/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Michael Baldwin has 4.75 million right now, with only 8.4 million in play. Tony Ma is second with 1.855 million, while JJ Johnstone has 1.77 million in third.

  • Leo Aiello Out in 4th Place for $10,640

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:3/280
    Prizes:$133,000
    Leonardo Aiella

Leo Aiello just hit the payout desk for 4th place worth $10,640. He jammed his button for about 1.4 million with queen-ten but ran into the kings for small blind Michael Bladwin. The runout hit Aiello’s queen, but he couldn’t find anything and ended his day in 4th place.

He was the short stack at the table in recent times, but he’d come back from 60k earlier in the day to ladder into 4th place.

  • Ma Folds Kings

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:4/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Tony Ma raised to 175k under thegun, and JJ Johnstone called to see A56 on the flop. Ma check-called for 200k and then checked again on the J turn, then tank-folded to a bet of 350k.

“You won’t believe what I foded,” Ma said. He didn’t show the hand, but said he had pocket kings.

  • “I win.” “Nope.”

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:4/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Leonardo Aiello limped in from the button, and both blinds came along to the 7310 flop. The all checked through to the 3 turn where Michael Baldwin checked the small blind before Tony Ma made it 100k to go. Aiello folded but Baldwin came over the top to 300k. Ma called to see 5 on the river.

They both checked it. “I win,” Ma said, rolling over 107 for the flopped two pair. Bladwin shook his head and showed A3 for the turned trips and the win.

  • Raj Sabanathan Out in 5th Place for $7,980

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:4/280
    Prizes:$133,000
    Raj Sabanathan

It was a rollercoaster ride for Raj Sabanathan today at the final table as he occupied both ends of the chip list at various times. I missed the final action as I was out of the room, but he recently lost a huge flip to Leonardo Aiello to leave him as the short stack at the table, then busted shortly after.

  • Aiello Gets There for a Double

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:5/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Leonardo Aiello open-shoved 925k under the gun and it folded to Raj Sabanathan in the big blind. He called and it was a not-so-classic race between A8 for Aiello and J10 for Sabanathan.

The 9AJ107 board was a rollercoaster as Aiello flopped his ace, Sabanathan turned two pair, and Aiello rivered the straight for the win. That puts Aiello up to about 2 million with Sabanathan down to about 1 million now.

  • Sabanathan Leads on Break

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:5/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Raj Sabanathan is the chip leader at the dinner break, and he’s the only player with more than 2 million now, but no one is particularly short at the moment with Michael Baldwin on the short stack with 1.38 million, which is still more than 25 bigs coming back from dinner with blinds at 25k/50k/50k.

  • Baldwin Moves on River

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:5/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Michael Baldwin raised to 80k under the gun and Leonardo Aiello called. They both checked the 1096 flop and Aiello led the A turn for 115k. Baldwin called to the 2 river and Aiello led again, this time for 125k. Baldwin came over the top to 400k and forced Aiello to fold.

  • Ma Doubles

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:5/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Leonardo Aiello opened the button to 100k and Michael Baldwin called from the small blind before Antonio Ma three-bet to 350k. Aiello mucked his hand before Baldwin shipped in a covering stack. Ma nearly beat him into the pot with the call, showing pocket aces against ace-jack for Baldwin. The board was clean for the aces and Ma chipped up to about 1.7 million with Baldwin now down under 1 million.

The players are taking a dinner break following this level, and I’ll grab full counts then, but Raj Sabanathan looks to be the current leader.

  • Baldwin Boats River

    Level:24 (20000/40000/4000)
    Entries:5/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Raj Sabanathan raised to 80k under the gun and Michael Bladwin called from the big blind. They both checked it through the K822J until the river where Baldwin fired 160k. After a few seconds in the tank, Sabanathan called but mucked when Baldwin showed JJ for the riverboat.

  • Matt Kwong Out in 6th Place for $6,318

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:5/280
    Prizes:$133,000
    Matt Kwong

Leonardo Aiella opened with a limp under the gun, and Matt Kwong called from his left before Michael Baldwin raised it to 120k. Aiello called before Kwong shoved 355k. Baldwin reshoved a covering stack and Aiello got out of the way.

It was a classic race between AK against the pocket fours for Kwong. Baldwin spiked a king on the flop and an ace on the turn for two pair while the board missed Kwong’s hand completely.

  • Caleb Simmons Out in 7th Place for $4,921

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:6/280
    Prizes:$133,000
    Caleb Simmon

The NLH Megastack is down to 6 players left now as Caleb Simmons finished his run today in 7th place. I missed the action while I was getting some dinner.

  • Doug Lee Out in 8th Place for $3,924

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:7/280
    Prizes:$133,000
    Doug Lee

Doug Lee came to Day 2 as the chip leader, but he just got coolered out of the game in 8th place. While I missed the final action, Lee took a huge hit a couple of hands ago when he shoved over a raise from Raj Sabanathan and got the call. Lee was huge with pocket kings, and was in great shape against the ace-queen for Sabanathan. Poker is a fickle game, however, and Sabanathan found an ace on the river to crack the kings and leave Lee on about 10 bigs, which he lost a couple of hands later.

  • Lee Straightens Out Simmons, Then Sends Chips to Sabanathan

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:8/280
    Prizes:$133,000

There is a ton of action on the final table now and Raj Sabanathan just jumped into the lead with about 2.5 million after Doug Lee hit a huge double against Caleb Simmons.

In the first hand, Lee shipped about 30 bigs from the button with eight-nine, and ran into queens for Simmons. Lee flopped open-ended and turned the straight to crack the queens and double.

A couple of hands later, Raj Sabanathan was all in again with ace-queen against pocket kings for Doug Lee, and Sabanathan spiked his ace on the river for a huge pot. That left Lee on less than 300k while Sabanathan is up to about 2.5 million after being nearly felted about an hour ago.

  • Sabanathan Over a Million

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:8/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Raj Sabanathan is riding a bit of a rollercoaster today as he’s just managed to double again up to more than a million. Not long ago, he was on fumes with barely 100k in front of him, but then he grabbed a couple of doubles to get up to ~600k.

He just three-bet shoved over a limp from Leonardo Aiella and a raised to 75k from Michale Baldwin. Aiella got out of the way, but Baldwin snap-called with pocket kings.

Sabanathan was in trouble, and said he was clearly hoping for folds. He had Q9 but the runout of J9AQ6 double-paired him on the turn to crack the kings and get a double. He’s now up to more than a million while Baldwin is still playing about 1.5 million.

  • Todd “The Rock” Out in 9th Place for $3,126

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:8/280
    Prizes:$133,000

They are down to 8 now after “The Rock” ended his day in 9th shortly after the break. I missed the action as I was out of the room for a minute. “The Rock” prefers not to have his picture or full details published.

  • Baldwin Leading at Break

    Level:22 (15000/25000/25000)
    Entries:9/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Michael Baldwin is leading the way at the break as the only player with more than 2 million chips, but there are a couple of other millionaires at the table as well now.

  • Sabanathan Rebuilding

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:9/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Raj Sabanathan was nearly out the door after doubling up JJ Johnstone. He grabbed a quick double back to 327k, then got that in from the hijack before cutoff Doug Lee reshoved to isolate.

Sabanathan had the best ace with A10 but Lee was suited with A7. Lee called for clubs, but the AQ108Q runout gave Sabanathan the pair of tens and double to around 700k now, right back into the game.

  • Johnstone Doubles

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:9/280
    Prizes:$133,000

JJ Johnstone just grabbed a double in a blind-on-blind hand. He shoved the small blind and Raj Sabanathan called with a bit more from the big blind. Sabanathan was suited with K8 while Johnstone was marginally ahead with A5. The Q101097 board was clean for the ace-high and Johnstone doubled up to about 660k while Sabanathan is now down to about 150k.

They’ll be heading out for another break in about 10 minutes, and I’ll do another round of full chip counts them.

  • Baldwin to the Lead with Huge Call

    Level:21 (10000/20000/20000)
    Entries:9/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Michael Baldwin just took the lead with more than 2 million in front of him after making a huge river call. The hand started as a 5-way pot after Baldwin made it 40k early and got four calls.

The flop was K49 and action checked to Raj Sabanathan, who fired 125k into the pot. That pushed out “The Rock” in the big blind before Baldwin smooth-called it. Antonio Ma and JJ Johstone backed away to leave them heads-up to the 3 turn.

Baldwin check-called for 250k and the clubs came on the 10 river. Baldwin checked once more, and Sabanathan slid out a bet of 600k, most of what Baldwin had left behind. Baldwin hit the tank for about a minute, and finally slid out the call. Sabanathan showed pocket sizes while Baldwin was on [KsQc[/pcn] for top pair and a nice blocker to the clubs.

“Once I start bluffing, I can’t stop,” Sabanathan said with a smile as he was left with about 300k in front of him while Baldwin has more than 2 million.

  • Peter Amic Out in 10th Place for $2,660

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:9/280
    Prizes:$133,000
    Peter Amic

They are down to nine left now after Peter Amic was the first player off the final table today. I missed the action while writing the Aiello double, but Amic earned $2,660 for his couple of days of “work”.

  • Aiello Doubles in Rollercoaster

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:10/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Raj Sabanathan opened to 32k from the middle before Leonardo Aiella shoved 64k from the button. It folded back to Sabanathan who snapped it off.

It was a classic race between AQ and pocket deuces for Aiello. Aiello let out a sigh when the queen came on the 9Q5 flop, but then loudly cheered the duck on the turn as the board ran out 2K to keep him alive. Aiello chipped up to about 170k while Sabanathan is still doing fine with about 900k in front of him.

  • Final Table Faces

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:10/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Here is a look at the final table players, with Todd “The Rock” not included by request.

  • Final Table Time

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:10/280
    Prizes:$133,000

They are down to the final table of ten players now with John Hansmeyer as the final table bubble player. He shoved his last 100k with ace-eight, but the big blind woke up with pocket tens. Hansmeyer spiked his ace on the flop but it was just stringing him along as there was a ten on the river to set up the big blind for the win.

    PlacePlayerPrize
    11 Johnathan Hansmeyer$2,394
    12 Aidan Klingbeil$2,128
  • Final Table Bubble

    Level:20 (8000/16000/16000)
    Entries:11/280
    Prizes:$133,000

They are on the final table bubble now with 11 players left. Aidan Klingbeil was the most recent casualty from the game in 12th place for $2,128, and after the next elimination, they’ll be at the 10-handed final table.

  • Down to 12

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:12/280
    Prizes:$133,000

They are down to 12 left in Day 2 of the NLH Megastack now after Tarik Mazari and Ryan Callahan lost their stacks recently. I missed the action while updating the PLO Megastack, which is playing out alongside this one today.

    PlacePlayerPrize
    13 Ryan Callahan$1,995
    14 Tarik Mazari$1,862
  • Kwong Sniffs it Out

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:14/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Mattt Kwong raised to 25k from the cutoff and Raj Sabanathan called from the big blind. They both checked the ppcn]Ts4sJh[/pcn] flop, but Sabanathan led for 25k on the Q turn.

Kwong called to the 6 river, where Sabanathan sized up to 125k. Kwong hit the tank for about 30 seconds before sliding out the call. His J3 was good against the 97 bluff from Sabanathan

    Entries:14/280

  • Simmons is Best

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:15/280
    Prizes:$133,000

Tariq Mazari opened to 25k early, and it folded around to Caleb Simmons in the big blind, who slid out a call. They both checked the K105 flop and Simmons check-called for 25k on the 9 turn. Simmons check-called again on the 5 river, this time for 80k.

Mazari showed pocket sixes, but Simmons was on K6 for top pair and the win. Sebastien Fallu busted on the other table while this hand was playing out, bringing the game down to 15 left.

  • Ma Leads on Break

There was an early exit this morning after a huge hand with two pairs of kings and a pair of aces. John Hansmeyer had the aces and held to stay alive with a triple. Ali Razzaq was the unfortunate player on the short stack with kings, and he hit the cage for the first payout of the day.

The final day of play for the $560 Megastack is now set, with Doug Lee leading the way. Lee, who is the second-winningest player in Alberta just behind Thomas Taylor, bagged nearly 1 million chips in Day 1b for the overall lead. He’s nearly 300k in front of the 1a leader, Raj Sabanathan, who will start Day 2 second in chips. Leonardo Aiello, Aidan Klingbeil, and Michael Baldwin (who all bagged 1b) round out the top five stacks for the final day.

They reconvene at noon on Thursday (players are asked to be in the room for 11:45 so play can start on time) to finish it out with more than $31k up top for the winner. Day 1b is now complete with 18 players getting through to tomorrow’s Day 2. Doug Lee bagged the big stack from today’s flight with 959k. Leonardo Aiello has 551k for second with Aidan Klinbeil, Michael Baldwin, and Andy Truong rounding out the top five with stacks in the 400k range.

Stay tuned for the Day 2 seat assignments for all 28 returning players later tonight.

  • Still On the Bubble

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:19/177 (29/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

Level 15 has just ended and the remaining players are on a break now. Theer are still 19 left in the game, so they’ll return for Level 16 in about 10 minutes with the clock still paused for hand-for-hand play.

  • Doug Lee Leads on the Bubble

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:19/177 (29/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

It looks like Doug Lee is the big leader right now, with around 800k in front of him. Lee is the second-winningest player in Alberta at the moment, behind Thomas Taylor, who was also at the same table as Lee tonight, but just ended his night 3 off the bags.

Ron Giles followed Taylor out the door to bring the field to 19. The clock is now paused with 18:09 remaining in Level 15 and they’ll take two minutes off the clock for each hand played until the next elimination.

  • Four Off the Bags

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:22/177 (45/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

They are down to 22 players left now, four away from the end of the night. The average stack is still pretty deep at just under 50 bigs, so they may still be at the tables for a while.

  • $31,255 for the Winner

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:26/177 (49/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

The prizes are in and the field is confirmed at 280 entries in total. That means there are 28 paid spots, assuming there isn’t a double knockout later tonight on the bubble. The winner is set to pocket a bit more than $31k — full prize details are under the Payouts tab, with the caveat that they MIGHT change, and the final table prizes are below.

    PlacePrize
    1$31,255
    2$19,950
    3$13,300
    4$10,640
    5$7,980
    6$6,318
    7$4,921
    8$3,924
    9$3,126
    10$2,660
  • Simmons, Truong Look to be Leading

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:36/177 (59/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

With 36 players left in the field it looks like Caleb Simmons and Andy Truong are the joint leaders right now. They both are playing about 400k right now, but there are a few other stacks in the 300k range out there as well.

  • Four Tables Left; Two Tables Bag

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:36/177 (59/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

They just broke down to the final four tables in Day 1b of the Megastack with 36 players left in the game. That puts them 18 off the bags.

  • 177 Entries for 1b

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:39/177 (62/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

Entries for the NLH Megastack are now closed with 177 entries for 1b and 280 overall. That puts the combined prizes at $133,000.

These numbers are still unofficial as the staff are still counting the entries and working out the prizes. I’m hoping to be able to post the prizes tonight, but if I do get an early look at then, the caveat is that they may change if there’s a double knockout at the end of the night tonight.

If these numbers hold, there will be 18 bags at the end of the night, putting them just 21 eliminations away from the bags right now. The average stack is still close to 50 big blinds, however, so they likely have some poker to play before they get down to 18.

  • More than $130k in Prizes

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:55/173 (78/276 combined)
    Prizes:$82,175 ($131,100 combined)

The combined prizes are now over $130k, with just over 30 minutes left to enter. The 1b field is up to 173 for 276 overall and prizes of $131,100. They are 24 entries off of 300 combined, but that seems like it’s a bit out of reach at this point. I’m expecting the final field to settle in at around 280 entries for this one.

  • Two Entries from $130k

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:54/169 (77/272 combined)
    Prizes:$80,275 ($129,200 combined)

The combined prizes are now just two entries shy of $130k with 169 on the board for today’s flight and 272 overall. There are about 5 minutes to play in Level 11, and entries are open until the start of Level 13.

  • Some Familiar Faces

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:63/167 (86/270 combined)
    Prizes:$79,325 ($128,250 combined)

They are just a few entries away from $130k in prizes now, with 167 on the board for today. That puts the prizes now at $128,250 and among the players trying to bag a stack for it are Glenn Tarasoff, Tyler Panas, Ali Razzaq, Ryan Cairns, Curtis Singleton, Matt Kwong, Mohsen Shafizadeh, Andy Truong, Daniel Lefebvre, Stephen Dauphinais, WPT Global streamer Jordan Banfield, Caleb Simmons, Deven Lane, Tyler Thomas, Kim Pham, Skyler Yorke, Eric Wasylenko, Thomas Taylor, Regan Duong, Russ King, 2x Ladies ring winner Jennelle Exner, Doug Lee, and Ryan Smith.

  • 2 Hours to Enter Megastack

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:63/164 (86/267 combined)
    Prizes:$77,900 ($126,825 combined)

There are about 20 minutes left in Level 10, and that means the end of entries for the Megstack is just under 2 hours away. The prize pool is now nearing $127k, so $130k is still within sight, as they only need another 7 entries to cap that total.

  • Nearing $125k in Prizes on Dinner

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:63/156 (86/259 combined)
    Prizes:$74,100 ($123,025 combined)

The combined field is now up to almost 260 entries with 156 on the board tonight so far. The players are on their dinner break now, and there are still 3 levels of open registration when they return in about 20 minutes, so the numbers are sure to climb a bit more yet. It looks like $125k is fairly likely, and $130k isn’t out of the question before everything shuts down in a bit more than 2 hours.

  • More than $100k in Prizes

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:85/109 (108/212 combined)
    Prizes:$51,775 ($100,700 combined)

The 1b field just hit 109 entries, enough to push the combined prizes over $100k. There are still more than 6 hours to enter today’s flight, so prizes of $120k are still well within reach.

  • 200 Entries

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:83/97 (106/200 combined)
    Prizes:$46,075 ($95,000 combined)

The combined field just hit 200 entries with 97 on the board for today’s flight. That puts the total prizes at just $5k less than $100k, with that milestone set to be passed at 108 entries today, which should happen well before the next break given the current pace.

  • More than 90 Entries

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:77/91 (100/194 combined)
    Prizes:$43,225 ($92,150 combined)

The combined field is now pushing near 200 entries with 91 on the board for today. That puts them 6 entries away from 200 and 17 entries away from $100k in total prizes. Both of those numbers seem certain to fall before the next break.

  • 80 Entries Before First Break

    Level:3 (200/300/300)
    Entries:82/82 (105/185 combined)
    Prizes:$38,950 ($87,875 combined)

Level 3 has about 10 minutes to play, and the Day 1b field is at 82 already. That puts nearly $40k into the prizes from today’s flight already for a combined two-day total of more than $87k.

$100k in total by the end of the night seems like a lock, and given the current numbers, it could push close to $120k.

  • Raj Sabanathan is the Stack to Beat for 1b Players

    Event 10:$560 Megastack ($500 + $60)
    Date:Day 1a: Apr 8, Noon
    Day 1b: Apr 9, Noon
    Day 2: Apr 10, Noon
    Blinds:40 Minutes
    Starting Stack:30k
    Late Entry:12 Levels (~9:30 PM)
Day 1 Ends:10% of the Field
    Entries:103
    Prizes:$48,925

Day 1a is in the books, but it was a marathon. Play lasted until well into Level 18 after going hand-for-hand in Level 16. When the dust finally settled, Raj Sabanathan was playing the big stack with just under 700k in his bag. Todd “The Rock” bagged stack #2 from 1a with just under 400k in his bag while JJ Johnstone, Antono Ma, and Lapchi Duong all bagged 375k+ to round out the top five counts.

Day 1b will be a redo of Day 1a with the game starting at noon and players sitting down with 30k in chips. They play 12×40-minute levels with entries open, making the final chance to enter at about 9:30 pm. After that, they’ll play as long as it takes to get down to 10% of the starting field.

Day 1a’s 103 entries has already built a prize pool of nearly $50k, and the 1b expectations are always bigger than 1a, so a final prize pool of $100k+ looks like a lock by the end of entries for Wednesday’s final flight. I’ll likely be a bit late to the floor for 1b, but I should be there before the first break of the day.

  • Marathon Bubble Ends in Level 18

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:10/103
    Prizes:$48,925

Raj Sabanathan is the chip leader after a marathon bubble finally ended in Level 18 after kicking off two levels earlier in Level 16. He bageed 676k at the end of the night, with Todd “The Rock” bagging the second stack at 395k.

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:11/103

They’ve played 7 hands in Level 16, and there are still 11 players left in the game with action still hand-for-hand.

  • The Rock Has the Lead

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:11/103
    Prizes:$48,925

The players are on a break following Level 15 now, and Todd “The Rock” is the big stack right now with just shy of 600k. To his immediate left, Raj Sabanathan is in second with just under 500k.

On the other end of the spectrum, John Hansmeyer and Martin Butler are the short stacks with less than 100k each.

  • Bubble to the Bags

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:11/103
    Prizes:$48,925

Day 1a is down to the end-of-night bubble with 11 players left now. The clock is paused with 9:43 remaining in Level 15, and they’ll take two minutes off the clock for each hand played until the next player is eliminated.

  • Four Off the Bags

    Level:15 (2500/5000/5000)
    Entries:14/103
    Prizes:$48,925

They are down to 14 players left now with ten bags expected at the end of the night. There are about 25 minutes in Level 15 and they’ll keep playing until they hit 10 players tonight. Raj Sabanathan and Todd “The Rock” look to be joint leaders right now. Todd looks to be playing a little bit more, but both players are now sitting between 450-500k. There aren’t any super-short stacks out there right now, but it looks like John Hansmeyer might be the shorty with around 100k in front of him.

  • Sabanathan Still Leading with 16 Left

    Level:14 (2000/4000/4000)
    Entries:16/103
    Prizes:$48,925

They are now 6 eliminations off the bags tonight and Raj Sabanathan is still the chip leader. He’s chipped up to more than 500k now, while Todd “The Rock” looks to be second with close to 400k. Lapchi Duong, Weston Pring, Nicholas Peterson, Peter Amic, Martin Butler, and John Hansmeyer are among the other players still alive tonight.

  • Final Two Tables

    Level:13 (1500/3000/3000)
    Entries:18/103
    Prizes:$48,925

The final number for Day 1a is confirmed at 103 entries for prizes of $48,925. That means 10 players will find bags at the end of the night, and they’ll keep playing until they hit that number.

They just broke down to the final two tables with 18 players left in the action tonight, so they are now 8 eliminations away from the end of Day 1a.

  • 10 Minutes Left to Get into Day 1a

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:22/103
    Prizes:$48,925

The final break of registration is now underway and the end of Day 1a entries is about 10 minutes away. Raj Sabanathan still looks to be the chip leader, with about 480k in front of him.

  • Less than 30 Minutes to Enter 1a

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:23/102
    Prizes:$48,450

There are just over 10 minutes to play in Level 12, with entries set to close after the break that follows this level. That puts the end of entries for today about 25 minutes from this post.

The field is currently at 102 entries for prizes of $48,450.

  • 100 Entries

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:37/100
    Prizes:$47,500

The 1a field just hit 100 entries with 30 minutes to play in Level 11. That means there are still just under 90 minutes to get into today’s flight. Another 6 entries for this flight will push today’s prizes over $50k.

  • Sabanathan Leads after Dinner

    Level:10 (800/1600/1600)
    Entries:46/96
    Prizes:$45,600

The prizes are now more than $45k with 96 entries on the board as Level 10 begins. I had a look around on dinner and it looks like Raj Sabanathan is the current chip leader with about 280k in front of him while Regan Duong looks to be second with a bit more than 230k.

There are now three levels of late entry remaining before the 1a field is set at the start of Level 13.

  • Up to 91

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:46/91
    Prizes:$43,225

The 1a field is now at 91 entries for $43,225 in prizes. Level 9 has just begun and they’ll take their 45-minute dinner break at the end of this level, but entries will remain open for three more levels after dinner with the desk shutting down at the start of Level 13.

  • More than $40k in Prizes

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:59/85
    Prizes:$40,375

The field is up to 85 entries with 30 minutes to play in Level 8. That puts the prize pool over $40k with a bit less than 4 hours left to get into today’s flight. A 1a field of 100+ is still looking probable with only 15 more entries needed to cap that figure. If they get to 106 entries today, that will mean $50k in prizes from Day 1a.

  • Closing in on $40k in Prizes

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:57/79
    Prizes:$37,525

The field for Day 1a of the Megastack is now at 79 entries, with Level 7 just underway. That puts the prizes at $37.5k with a bit more than 5 hours left to get into today’s flight.

  • 75 Entries in Level 6

    Level:6 (300/600/600)
    Entries:63/75
    Prizes:$35,625

The Day 1a prizes are now over $35k with 75 entries on the board so far today. There are still 20 minutes left in Level 6, with a break scheduled following this level and another 6 levels of entry to follow the break. The 45-minute dinner break comes following Level 9 at about 6:15 PM.

  • More than $30k in Prizes

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:59/66
    Prizes:$31,350

The field is up to 66 entries now at the start of Level 5 with 59 players still at the felt. Entries are still open for more than 6 hours, with the final cut-off at about 9:30, so the numbers are sure to keep growing and 100+ is well within reach still.

  • Up to 61 Entries

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:58/61
    Prizes:$28,975

The field is up to 61 with just under 30 minutes to play in Level 4. I’ve just wandered around the room to have a look at the field, and among the players I spotted were double-ring winner Peter Darlington, WPT Global streamer Jordan Banfield, Peter Amic, David Thompson, John Hansmeyer, Tyler Panas, Josh Meyers, Henry Yang, Curtis Singleton, Mohsen Shafizadeh, and Deven Lane, who is in for his first event this series.

  • 55 Entries after First Break

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:55/55
    Prizes:$26,125

Level 4 has just kicked off with the first break of Day 1a now in the books. The field is at 55 entries to start the level, and among the players I’ve spotted in today’s field are three of the deep runners from the HORSE last night. Winner Thomas Taylor is in the mix today, as is runner-up Marting Butler, as well as Ryan Smith, who was also at that final table.

Other familiar faces in the crowd today include Todd “The Rock”, Phillip Clingo (who was 6th in the Deepstack on Sunday), Jerry Li, Scott Johnson (one of the Day 1 leaders from the Deepstack and 12th overall), Brett Worton, Keegan Oliver (who was also at the HORSE FT last night), Sebastian Lampreau (another HORSE FT), and Stacey Diederich.

  • 50 Entries in Level 3

    Level:3 (200/300/300)
    Entries:50/50
    Prizes:$23,750

They are about 10 minutes from the first break of the day in the Megastack and the field is at an even 50 entries. I suspect there are a few less than that actually at the felt, as I’ve seen a few players head for rebuys while I’ve been here.

  • Event #10: $560 Megastack ($500 + $60)

    Event 10:$560 Megastack ($500 + $60)

    Late Entry:12 Levels (~9:30 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:15 Levels (~11:30 PM)

It’s time for the second multi-day event of the 2025 Spring Super Stack. The opening flight of the $560 Megastack gets going at noon on Tuesday, with players sitting down to the felt with 30k in chips.

They play 40-minute levels and entries are open for 12 levels or until about 9:30 pm. Day 1 play will continue until there are 10% of the field left, after which the bags will come out, and the remaining players will move on to Day 2 on Thursday.

This game should be my main focus for the day, but I will likely be a bit late to the floor. I should be on task well before the first break.

  • Day 1b Ends with 36 Minutes Left in Level 16

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:18/177 (28/280 combined)
    Prizes:$84,075 ($133,000 combined)

    PlacePrize
    1$31,255
    2$19,950

  • Let’s Make a Deal

    Level:19 (6000/12000/12000)
    Entries:16/280
    Prizes:$133,000

They are down to 16 left after Kim Pham hit the rail for 17th place shortly before the break. Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:27/280
    Prizes:$133,000
