  • Tood Oakley Defeats Nicholas Peterson for Main Event Title

    Level:29 (60000/120000/120000)
    Entries:1/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:11:30 PM

Todd Oakley was in the driver’s seat for all of heads up, and while Nicholas Peterson was able to score a couple of doubles, he never managed to get into the lead. When the final hand came in, Oakley was at about a 9:2 lead in chips, and when Peterson flopped a pair and a flush draw, his money went in.

Oakley was an open-ended draw with backdoor clubs, and he turned the straight as his backdoor draw came around front, and then he rivered the clubs just to be certain.

    Main Event Final Hand

This was Oakley’s 5th live win, and second of the year, after he took down the opening multi-day event in the most recent series in Calgary. That score was worth $20k, and the second-biggest score of his career behind a win from 2024. This win tonight will easily cap both of those (combined) and will push his lifetime earnings well above $100k.

  • Oakley Has the Big Lead

    Level:29 (60000/120000/120000)
    Entries:2/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:11:20 PM

Todd Oakley has 9.4 million, to just over 2 million for Nicholas Peterson. The final two players are on a break, with action resuming in about 10 minutes with blinds at 60k/120k/120k.

  • Peterson Doubles

    Level:28 (50000/100000/100000)
    Entries:2/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:10:50 PM

Todd Oakley raised to 100k, and Nicholas Peterson called. After a check from Peterson on the 767 flop, Oakley shoved, and Peterson snapped it off with less.

Peterson was on nine-seven for trips against K8 for Oakley. Oakley hit a 5 on for a dirty open-ender, but the deuce of spades on the river sent the double to Peterson. He had just shy of 2 million at the time, so he’s close to 5 million now, with Oakley still marginally in front.

  • Allen Butkovic Out in 3rd Place for $26,430

    Level:28 (50000/100000/100000)
    Entries:2/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:10:25 PM
    Allen Butkovic

The Main Event is heads up now after Allen Butkovic ended his day in 3rd. He shoved the small blind with queen-nine, but ran into queens for Nicholas Peterson. The queens held on 232A3.

Peterson is now heads up with Todd Oakley, with the stacks close to even.

  • Peterson Doubles

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:3/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:9:55 PM

Todd Oakley raised to 200k from the button, and Nicholas Peterson called from the big blind. After a check from Peterson on the 647 flop, Oakley shoved the big stack and Peterson snapped it off.

Oakley was on ace-seven for top pair, but Peterson had six-five for a worse pair, but an open-ended draw. He got there on the turn when the runout came 3A and he is now close to 5 million, with the lead.

  • Butkovic Doubles, Oakley on More than Half the Chips

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:3/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:9:40 PM

Todd Oakley shoved the button, and Allen Butkovic called it off with 980k behind. He was ahead with ace-queen in king-nine of diamonds for Oakley, and the ace held on 38642.

That brought Butkovic up over 2 million, but Oakleyt is still playing more than 6 million, with about 11.5 million in play.

  • Oakley Leads on Break

    Level:27 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:3/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:9:10 PM

Todd Oakley has more than 4 million at the break following Level 26, with Allen Butkovic in second with about 3.8 million, while Nicholas Peterson has about 3 million for 3rd.

  • Peterson Gets There on the River

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:3/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:9:00 PM

Todd Oakley raised the button to 150k, and Nicholas Peterson called from the big blind. Peterson check-called for 100k on the 9K2 flop, and they both checked the 28 turn and river.

Oakley showed a king, but Peterson had eight-nine for the rivered two pair and took it down.

  • Brady O’Hara Out in 4th Place for $20,330

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:3/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:8:50 PM
    Brady O’Hara

Brady O’Hara’s strategy today has been to fold almost everything, and it has served him well. He laddered up to fourth place from his short stack, mostly by avoiding action on the final table.

He finally shoved his last 450k with kings, and Allen Butkovic called him with ace-six. Butkovic found his ace on the turn of 552A8, and O’Hara was finally out, but he managed to fold to $20k tonight.

  • George Broumas Out in 5th Place for $15,655

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:4/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:8:45 PM
    George Broumas

Nicholas Peterson raised to 120k from the cutoff, and George Broumas made it 350k from the small blind. Peterson called to the 867 flop, then called when Broumas bet 400k.

When the turn came Q, Broumas shoved, and Peterson snapped it off. He’d flopped a set with pocket eights, and had Broumas’s kings crushed. The 2 river was a brick, and Broumas was out in 5th place.

Meanwhile, Brady O’Hara has been playing the “fold to big money” strategy. His VPIP has been very low at this final table, folding nearly everything so far today, but the strategy has laddered him to the final four. He just scored a triple up after Broumas busted, so he’s still in the mix for the win.

  • Leon Doublet Out in 6th Place for $12,405

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:5/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:8:35 PM
    Leon Doublet

Leon Doublet was down to 120k earlier today, but he managed to spin that back up and ladder several times into 6th place. He got his final chips in with ace-queen, and George Broumas called him off dominated with ace-ten, but Broumas found a straight for the win.

  • Broumas Doubles

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:6/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:8:25 PM

George Broumas shoved the small blind, and Todd Oakley called from the big. He was on suited connectors with 98 against AK for Broumas. Broumas hit his ace on the flop of 35A62 and held for the double.

  • Nu Teliani Out in 7th Place for $9,760

    Level:26 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:6/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:8:10 PM
    Nu Teliani

Nu Teliani shoved for 625k from the button, and Nicholas Peterson called from the big blind. Peterson was on KJ against 95 for Teliani.

Peterson flopped huge when the board ran Q10A710, and his straight sent Teliani out in 7th place.

  • Oakley Forces the River Fold

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:7/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:7:55 PM

Nicholas Peterson raised to 100k from the middle, and George Broumas called the cutoff, Todd Oakley called the button, and Nu Teliani called the big blind.

It checked to Broumas on the A26 flop, and he fired 220k. Oakley called, while the other two got out of the way.

Broumas made it 330k on the 10 turn, and Oakley called to the [invalid notations] river, which brought in the clubs. Broumas bet 240k, but Oakley came over the top to 640k.

“I guess you have clubs,” Broumas said.

“Maybe, Maybe not,” replied Oakley. Broumas folded the ace of spades face up, and Oakley showed the ace of clubs as he collected the pot, but neither player revealed their second card.

  • Ryan Comely Out in 8th Place for $7,725

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:7/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:7:50 PM
    Ryan Comely

The field is down to 7 remaining after Ryan Comely busted while I was out of the room.

  • Jatinder Brar Out in 9th Place for $6,305

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:8/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:7:30 PM
    Jatinder Brar

I missed the final action, but Jatinder Brar was left short after the big hand against Nu Teliani, and he hit the rail for 9th place shortly after.

  • Teliani Gets a Double Plus

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:9/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:7:15 PM

Jatinder Brar raised to 100k from the middle, and Nu Teliani and Leon Doublet called from the blinds. It all kicked off on the 1093 flop when Teliani checked, Doublet fired 150k, and Brar shoved all in.

Teliani reshoved with less, while Doublet tank-folded. Brar called it off, but his top pair, second kicker with king-ten was behind the two pair with ten-nine of diamonds, and she held when the runout came 72. Brar was left with less than 100k behind after the hand.

  • Oakley Leads by More than a Milly

    Level:25 (25000/50000/50000)
    Entries:9/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:6:55 PM

The players are on the break following Level 24, and Todd Oakley is the big leader right now. He is playing over 3 million, with Nicholas Peterson in second with just under 2 million.

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:9/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:6:30 PM

Todd Oakley raised to 80k from the middle, and Leon Doublet called from the button. Oakley check-called for 130k on the K94 flop, but when the 3 turn came, bringing in the diamonds, Oakley slid 800k out in browns, and Doublet mucked his hand.

  • Butkovic Takes Some Dead Money

    Level:24 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:9/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:6:20 PM

Jatinder Brar opened to 80k early, and Todd Oakley raised the middle to 250k. Allen Butkovic shoved for about 900k from the hijack.

Brar folded pretty quickly, and Oakley, who was stuck in the middle, tank-folded as well to send the extra 330k to Butkovic’s stack.

  • The Rich Get Richer

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:9/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:5:45 PM

The board was out showing 10794J, with three players putting in at least 400k on the turn as I arrived at the table. All three active players checked the river, and Todd Oakley turned over king-queen of diamonds for the river straight (with a diamond draw on the turn), while Nu Teliani and Jatinder Brar mucked their hands to send a huge pot to Oakley.

Oakley is now over 3 million with the big lead.

  • Brar Triples

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:9/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:5:35 PM

Jatinder Brar shoved 390k from the cutoff, and George Broumas called from the button before Todd Oakley reshoved the big stack. That pushed Broumas out, and it was a not-so-classic race between ace-four of diamonds for Brar, and king-queen off for Oakley.

The 24836 board improved Brar to a pair of fours, with Oakley still on king-high, and Brar got the triple, including the dead money from Broumas.

  • Broumas Takes One Blind on Blind

    Entries:9/287

George Broumas limped the small blind, and Todd Oakley checked the big. Broumas bet 35k on the 87K flop, and they both checked the 4 turn. Broumas fired 150k on the 7 river and Oakley folded.

    Entries:9/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:5:00 PM

Ryan Comely raised the middle to 65k, then called off when Brady O’Hara shoved about 500k from the button. O’Hara was ahead with AK against A7 for Comely, and the Q5894 was clean for O’Hara to double.

Meanwhile, on the other table, Preston Stevenson bubbled the final table, though I missed his final hand while I was eatching O’Hara score his double.

  • Oakley Leads Final 12

    Level:23 (15000/30000/30000)
    Entries:12/287
    Prizes:$296,924
    Local Time:4:40 PM

The field is down to 12 on the break following Level 22. Todd Oakley is the leader with more than 2 million, while Ryan Comely is second with almost 1.9 million.

Ramaz Haymour was the most recent bust from the Main Event. After George Broumas raised early to 55k, Haymour shoved his final 65k from the button. Nu Teliani called from the small blind, as did Broumas. Teliani & Broumas checked it down through the board of 6Q367. Teliani showed jack-three for the flopped treys, Broumas mucked, and Haymour’s ace-nine wasn’t good enough to survive.

That should put the Player of the Series race to bed, as that won’t be enough to get him ahead of Ross Wilson, who is still playing in the Last Chance. Haymour said he had to drive home this afternoon, so I don’t think he’ll be taking a shot in the final event.

    Entries:14/287
    Prizes:$296,924
    Local Time:4:20 PM

Todd Oakley raised to 50k from the button, and Jatinder Brar called from the big blind. Brar check-folded to a bet of 45k on the A10J flop.

In the next hand, Oakely limped the cutoff, and both Jatinder Brar and Rodica Fatol called from the blinds. They both checked the 885 flop, then folded when Oakley bet 40k.

Oakley now has about 1.4 million in front of him, which looks like the second-best stack, behind Ryan Comely with about 1.7 million. I’ll get another round of full counts at the next break in about 5 minutes.

  • Peterson Busts Start-of-Day Leader with Aces

    Entries:14/287

    Local Time:4:05 PM

Nicholas Peterson raised the button to 55k, and after close to a minute in the tank, Praba Siva shoved the small blind. Peterson snapped it off with a bit more and was in great shape with aces against ace-eight for Siva.

Peterson’s aces held on 346J2 and Siva, who started the day with the most chips after crushing the final few levels of Day 1b, was out in 15th place.

Nicholas Peterson raised the cutoff to 40k, and Preston Stevenson called from the big blind. Stevenson check-raised Peterson’s 30k bet on the 8AK flop, making it 95k to go.

Stevenson fired 115k on the 8 turn, and Peterson called to the 9 river, where they both checked. Stevenson showed a king, but Peterson’s ace-jack was better.

    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:3:05 PM

Shawn Taghavi opened under the gun to 45k, and it folded around to Praba Siva on the big blind, to his immediate right. Siva put in the call to 6KA on the flop.

Siva check-called for 55k, and they both checked the 87 turn and river. “Two pair,” said Siva, showing K7. Taghavi mucked a king face up, and while he didn’t show his second card, one can only assume his kicker was bigger than a seven.

  • Ramaz Haymour In the Drivers Seat for PoS

    Entries:19/287
    Prizes:$269,924
    Local Time:2:50 PM

Ross Wilson got a few extra points in the Player of the Series, and is still in the lead, but his early exit from the Main puts Ramaz Haymour in the driver’s seat. I would guess Wilson will be in the Last Chance to try and secure his lead, but with Haymour still playing a Main Event stack, it will likely come donw to where he finishes.

After his second trophy last night, Haymour has 210 points, about 60 behind Wilson. He can easily get those points in today’s Main, but if Wilson goes deep in the Last Chance, he can still hold the lead as well.

There are still lots of variables in play for the Player of the Series race.

Day 2 is set for the Main Event, and Praba Siva is leading the way to Day 2. He ended the final flight with 760k, with Todd Oakley in second (also from 1b) with 636k. Day 1a’s Willy Santos is third with 614k.

I wasn’t able to get a look at the seat assignments for this one, as Day 2 wasn’t set up in the system when I left, but full stacks and players are below. Seat assignments will be available from Joanne when players arrive for Day 2. Colten Yamagishi bagged two stacks for this one, so while 36 players were expected back, his small bag from 1a will immediately cash out while he plays the 354k he bagged on Day 1b.

The Day 2 action gets going at noon in Level 18, with the blinds at 5k/10k/10k. Levels are 60 minutes long, until heads up when they drop to 30 minutes. I likely won’t be in at the very start of the day, but expect reporting to start by 2 PM or so.

Ross Wilson got a huge double just before the break, and the hand could have Player of the Series implications. Wilson is leading the race, with Johnny Dalphond in 3rd, but Wilson just found aces over queens against Dalphond for a huge double, leaving Dalphond short.

  • 53 Remain

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:53/169 (68/287 combined)
    Prizes:$158,945 (Combined: $269,924)
    Local Time:10:10 PM

Day 1b is down to 53 players left, with about 10 minutes to go in Level 12. That still puts them 31 players away from the bags for tonight, so they have at least another three levels to play once the return from the upcoming break for Level 13.

  • Down to 60 Left

    Level:12 (1500/2500/2500)
    Entries:60/169 (75/287 combined)
    Prizes:$158,945 (Combined: $269,924)
    Local Time:9:35 PM

Level 12 is about to begin, and the 1b field is at 60 players. There’s a break following Level 12, and I expect today’s flight to go well past Level 15. Day 1a played into Level 18, and it’s looking like 1b could be just as long.

  • 67 Remain in the Main

    Level:11 (1000/2000/2000)
    Entries:67/169 (82/287 combined)
    Prizes:$158,945 (Combined: $269,924)
    Local Time:9:05 PM

Level 11 has just begun, with the 1b field down to 67 players remaining. They’ll be playing down to 22 players, so they still need to lose more than 40 players before the bags come out later tonight. I’m still expecting this flight to play until around 3 AM.

  • 169 Entries to End Dinner

    Level:10 (1000/1500/1500)
    Entries:83/169 (98/287 combined)
    Prizes:$158,945 (Combined: $269,924)
    Local Time:8:20 PM

Dinner is now complete, and entries for the Main Event are now closed. The final unofficial number on the board is 169 for 1b, for a combined total of 287 entries, and prizes just shy of $270k.

If that number holds, it should mean 22 bags at the end of the night tonight, for 37 players returning for Day 2 action on Sunday. I’ll confirm all the numbers once the prizes are complete.

  • Dinner Time with 164 Entries

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:83/164 (98/282 combined)
    Prizes:$154,242 (Combined: $265,221)
    Local Time:7:30 PM

Dinner is about to begin for the Main Event players, leaving just 45 minutes to get a stack in this Main. The combined prizes are just over $265k, with a combined field of 282. I expect a few more entries between now and 8:15 PM, but it looks like the final combined field will finish somewhere below 290.

  • More than 150 1b Entries; Final Level of Entry

    Level:9 (600/1200/1200)
    Entries:87/154 (102/272 combined)
    Prizes:$144,837 (Combined: $255,816)
    Local Time:6:55 PM

The final level of entry has just begun, with the 1b field at 154 entries. That puts the prizes over $255k, with the combined field at 272 entries. There are now about 1 hour and 20 minutes remaining in entries for the Main Event.

  • A Couple of 200k Stacks

    Level:7 (400/800/800)
    Entries:93/136 (108/254 combined)
    Prizes:$127,908 (Combined: $238,887)
    Local Time:5:30 PM

Players are about to sit down for Level7 after the second break of the day, and it looks like there are at least a couple of 200k+ stacks already. Adonios Pitaoulis has about 220k right now, with Jatinder Brar playing about 200k. Those looked to be the biggest stacks in the game, but there are a lot of stacks out there, and I may have missed one.

  • 130 Entries With 3 Hours to Go in Entry

    Level:6 (300/600/600)
    Entries:91/130 (106/248 combined)
    Prizes:$122,265 (Combined: $233,244)
    Local Time:5:05 PM

The combined prizes are nearing $235k as the 1b field hits 130 entries. The combined total for entries now is just shy of 250, with 300 total entries within sight.

Eric Wasylenko, Kyle Bonazzo, Iam Alvarado, Rob Limpert, Nick Civitarese, Gerald Chung, Ali Khani, Jason Law, Ron Lauzon, and Tina Nguyen are among the players I’ve spotted in the field today.

  • 1b Beats 1a in Level 5

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:92/119 (107/237 combined)
    Prizes:$111,920 (Combined: $222,899)
    Local Time:4:25 PM

More than 10 minutes remain in Level 5, and the 1b numbers just pushed past the 1a total. There are now 119 entries in 1b, for a combined total of 237. That puts the total prizes at more than $222k, with almost 4 hours left to enter today’s flight.

I’m still expecting a final number around 170-180; 175 today would mean prizes of more than $275k.

  • Nearing 1a Numbers

    Level:5 (300/500/500)
    Entries:90/114 (105/232 combined)
    Prizes:$107,217 (Combined: $218,196)
    Local Time:4:20 PM

The 1b field is just 4 entries off the 1a total, wth about 15 minutes to play in Level 5. That puts the combined prizes at nearly $220k with just under 4 hours left to enter this final flight.

Among the players in action today are Rob Lothian, Holly Berry, Hassan Issa, Jan Rufoli, DJ Sharma, Steve Chung, Ryan Cairns, Johnny Dalphond, Damiel O’Leary, Curtis Singleton, Jerry Tria, Sandy Lam, Jenna Murray, Lina Niu, Ross Wilson, and Shawn Taghavi. That’s far from a complete list, but it’s a start.

  • Nearly $200k in Prizes

    Level:4 (200/400/400)
    Entries:82/92 (97/210 combined)
    Prizes:$86,526 (Combined: $197,505)
    Local Time:3:35 PM

The 1b players are back from the first break of the day, and about half of Level 4 is now in the books. The field is up to 92 entries for today, putting the total at 210, for combined prizes of $197,505.

The prize pool today looks to be a lock for well over $200k, and $250k seems like it’s guaranteed. They need 109 more entries today to hit $300k in prizes, however, so that milestone still looks a bit optimistic. Entries are still open for 4.5 hours, though, so anything can happen.

  • 74 Entries Before First Break

    Level:3 (200/300/300_
    Entries:69/74 (84/192 combined)
    Prizes:$69,597 (Combined: $180,576)
    Local Time:2:45 PM

The combined prizes are more than $180k before the first break of Day 1b, with 74 entries on the 1b board already. That puts the combined entries at 192, meaning they’ll crack 200 combined shortly.

I’m expecting this field to at least double or more before the end of entries at 8:15 M tonight. If the 1b field hits 150, the prizes will be more than $250k. I’m expecting something like 180 for a final number today, and if they hit that it would be more than $280k in prizes. 1b needs a field of 201 for $300k in prizes; that feels a little out of reach, but not impossible.

  • Santos is the Stack to Beat for Day 1b Main Event Players

    Date:May 16, 1 PM
    Blinds:40 Minutes on Day 1

Day 1 Ends:12.5% of the Field; All Day 2 Players in the Money; Players Must Bag a Stack to Get Paid
    Entries:15/118
    Prizes:$110,979

The opening flight of the Main Event is now complete, with action running well into Level 18 before they got to 12.5% of the field. With 118 entries, it was a solid Day 1a field, with 15 players advancing at the end of the night, and almost $111k in prizes already.

Willy Santos leads the way out of Day 1a with more than 600k. He’s the only player with more than half a million, with the next stack at 488k

    Murray Duval170,000
    Brian MacNevin94,000
    Colten Yamagishi54,000

Day 1b will be a repeat of Day 1a, likely with about 50% more players. I’m expecting a 1b field of 170-190 at least, and 1b could well crack 200, given the strength of 1a.

Blinds are 40 minutes for Day 1 play, and players get 40k to start. There are nine levels of open entry, meaning 8:15 PM Saturday evening will be the Main Event entry cutoff for this series.

The game will play for as long as it takes to get to 12.5% of the starting field. With 1a playing into Level 18, 1b players should likely expect to be in the Pearl Room until 2 or 3 AM at the absolute earliest, and it could go later than that.

Reporting won’t start for 1b at the beginning of the day, but there should be coverage before the second break of the day for sure.

  • The Bags are Out

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:15/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:2:40 AM

After a couple of levels getting from 18 down to 16, it took just a single hand on the bubble to end it. Nu Teliani was in the small blind, looked at one card, saw the 10 and shoved. Cam Stewart was on the big blind, and he looked down at an ace, and also called without looking at his second card.

Both players missed the board with their known cards. Stewart showed a queen behind, but Teliani had a deuce behind, and her Doyle found a deuce on the flop for the win. She had Stewart outstacked by about 20k, and Day 1a is now over.

  • Bubble to the Bags

    Level:18 (5000/10000/10000)
    Entries:16/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:2:35 AM

They are on the bubble now with 16 players left. Ryan Cairns was the player who exited on the soft bubble tonight.

  • Duval Triples

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:17/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:2:15 AM

George Broumas limped in under the gun before Murray Duval shoved the button for 36k. Colten Yamagishi called from the big blind, and Broumas put in the rest as well.

Yamagishi check-called for 26k on the 107K flop, and then the two active players checked the 37 turn and river. Yamagishi showed ace-queen, but Broumas’ deuces were better for the side pot, but Duval’s K9 took the main pot for a triple.

  • Down to 17

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:17/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:1:55 AM

They are down to 17 players in Day 1a after Jerry Tria sent his chips to Colten Yamagishi recently. That puts them two off the end of the night, and one away from the bubble play.

  • Haymour Gets There on the River

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:18/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:1:40 AM

Ramaz Haymour raised early to 20, and Leon Doublet called from the big blind. The flop came J9J and Doublet led for 17k. Haymour called, and they checked it down through the 38 runout. After Doublet checked the river, Haymour announced “Two Pair”, and showed A8 for jacks and eights, ace-high, on the river.

  • 18 Left, 3 Off the Bags

    Level:17 (4000/8000/8000)
    Entries:18/118
    Prizes:$110,979

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:20/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:1:15 AM

Jerry Tria was all in, at risk against Nicholas Peterson, and his pocket fours held against the ace-queen for Peterson.

  • Five Off the End of the Night

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:20/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:1:00 AM

With just shy of 30 minutes to play in Level 16, the field is down to 20 remaining. That puts them 5 eliminations away from the end of Day 1a.

  • 7 Off the Bags

    Level:16 (3000/6000/6000)
    Entries:22/118
    Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:12:50 AM

The field is down to 22 players as they return for Level 16. “Chai Tea”, who has asked their name not be used, is the chip leader with more than 500k, while Jimmy Lee is second with 433k, with Alex Liu, Willy Santos, and Leon Doublet rounding out the top 5 stacks. Prizes:$110,979
    Local Time:10:00 PM

The field is down to 38 remaining now, with just under 20 minutes to play until the next break. One big stack I missed during my last circuit of the room belongs to Nu Teliani, who also looks to be playing around 200k. I’ll do some exact counts of the big stacks at the break in about 15 minutes, but there are still a few too many players out there for me to get a full count while they are away.

  • Down to 43 Remaining

    Entries:43/118

    Local Time:9:30 PM

Less than 10 minutes remain in Level 11, and the 1a field is down to 43. That puts them on the final five tables, and 28 away from the bags later tonight.

I’ve just had a look around for some big stacks, and it looks like DJ Sharma and Willie Santos are the joint leaders right now. They are both playing about 200k, with Nicholas Peterson, Cam Stewart, and Tina Nguyen all playing more than 100k.

Entries are now closed for 1a, and it was a pretty decent turnout for the opening flight, with 118 entries. That puts the 1a prizes at almost $111k, with a full 1b to play tomorrow.

Today’s flight will play down to 15 players before the bags come out, no matter how long it takes.

Level 9 has just begun, and this is the final level for entries. The reg-desk will be open through the dinner break following this level, with the final chance to enter when they sit down for Level 10 at about 8:15 PM.

  • More than 100 Entries for 1a

    Level:8 (500/1000/1000)
    Entries:67/105

    Entries:63/91

    Starting Stack:40k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~8:15 PM)
Day 1 Ends:12.5% of the Field; All Day 2 Players in the Money; Players must bag to cash

Friday marks the start of the NLH Main Event. The action kicks off at 1 PM, with 40-minute blinds and a 40k starting stack.

Entries are open for 9 levels, putting the final entry at about 8:15 PM. Day 1 action continues until the field hits 12.5%, with the remaining players bagging for Sunday’s Day 2.

Note that all Day 2 players are in the money, but players must bag a stack on one of the Day 1s to be eligible for a payout. This is a best stack forward event, which means players can fire bullets in both Day 1 flights, and play the biggest bag on Day 2, with their smaller bag scoring an immediate min-cash payout on Sunday.

Cam Stewart, Winner of the Main Event, and Player of the Series

In the first PPT of 2026, Cam Stewart was the Main Event winner. It was his first PPT trophy, defeating Travis Darroch heads up for the win over 329 entries for the biggest share of $309,425 in prizes.

Brar folded pretty quickly, and Oakley, who was stuck in the middle, tank-folded as well to send the extra 330k to Butkovic’s stack.

  • Oakley Leads Final 12

Siva check-called for 55k, and they both checked the 87 turn and river. “Two pair,” said Siva, showing K7. Taghavi mucked a king face up, and while he didn’t show his second card, one can only assume his kicker was bigger than a seven.
