    Entries:1/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Seated on the Button, Matthew Skeadas opened to 1,000,000. Dimosthenis Ioannidis then forced his opponent all in for 6,600,000 in total, and Skeadas made the call.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: A2
    Matthew Skeadas: QJ

Skeadas had two live cards, but Ioannidis was still ahead after the 4410 flop. He maintained the lead on the 8 turn, and for good measure, he paired his deuce on the 2.

As such, the charismatic Skeadas was eliminated in second place for £24,530.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: 24,840,000
    Matthew Skeadas: 0

    Matthew Skeadas: KJ
    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: QJ

Skeadas was in good shape to double up, and things still looked very promising on the 739 flop. Ioannidis found many more outs on the 8 turn, but the 8 river granted Skeadas a full double-up.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: 15,940,000
    Matthew Skeadas: 8,900,000

  • Asiil Maye Eliminated in 3rd Place (£15,840)

    Level 29:100,000/200,000 (200,000)
    Entries:2/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Chip leader Dimosthenis Ioannidis opened to 500,000 from the Button, prior to Asiil Maye pumping it up to 1,300,000 from the Small Blind. Matthew Skeadas seemed interested in partaking in the fun as he contemplated his decisions for a minute before eventually folding. Back to Ioannidis, then, who forced his opponent all in for shy of 4,000,000. Maye decided to make the call.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: AK
    Asiil Maye: K7

Maye was dominated, and he didn’t produce a miracle as the board spelled out AQ4J7. He went out in third for £15,840, and the stage was not set for a heads-up battle between Ioannidis and Skeadas.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: 16,000,000
    Matthew Skeadas: 8,840,000
    Asiil Maye: 0

Action folded to Dimosthenis Ioannidis, who opened to 500,000 from the Button. Christopher Yong made it 1,600,000 from the Small Blind, and Ioannidis wasted little time before forcing his opponent all in for 3,400,000. Yong made the call without hesitation.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: AJ
    Christopher Yong: QQ

Yong was ahead, but Ioannidis took the lead on the 2A5 flop. Yong didn’t catch up as the board completed with J8, and Yong had to settle for a fourth-place finish, which saw him cash for £9,780.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: 12,950,000
    Christopher Yong: 0

Terence Jordon had been short-stacked for quite some time and had done a great job getting through a payjump or two. Eventually, he decided to move all in for 325,000 from the Button, and was called by Christopher Yong in the Big Blind.

    Terence Jordon: K10
    Christopher Yong: 99

Jordon didn’t manage to connect on the 45AAQ board, and as such, he went out in fifth place for £6,520.

    Christopher Yong: 4,100,000
    Terence Jordan: 0

  • Nick Walsh Eliminated in 6th Place (£4,500)

    Entries:5/621
    Prizes:£155,250

A short-stacked Nick Walsh opened to 600,000 from the Cut-off, leaving a sole 25,000 chip behind. Seated in the Big Blind, Christopher Yong forced his opponent all in for the rest, and Walsh made the call.

    Christopher Yong: KJ
    Nick Walsh: A8

The KJA flop brought out all kinds of emotions from the players. Walsh didn’t manage to catch up as the board completed with 6Q, and the PokerStars commentator bid farewell in sixth place for £4,500.

    Christopher Yong: 3,800,000
    Nick Walsh: 0

    Level 28:80,000/160,000 (160,000)
    Entries:7/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Christopher Yong opened to 400,000 from the Hi-jack. “Mr. X” then moved all in for 700,000 from the Big Blind. Yong, of course, made the call.

    “Mr. X”: 77
    Christopher Yong: A6

“Mr. X” had a decent chance of doubling up, but he was counterfeited as the board spelled out 1010883. As such, “Mr. X” was sent to the rail and got £2,950 for his seventh-place finish.

    Christopher Yong: 3,550,000
    “Mr. X”: 0

  • Angel Popov Eliminated in 8th Place (£2,020)

    Angel Popov
    Level 28:80,000/160,000 (160,000)
    Entries:7/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Action folded all the way to Asiil Maye, who opened to 400,000 from the Small Blind. “I can’t believe you,” Maye said, as Angel Popov moved all in for 2,070,000. After utilizing a 30-second timebank chip, Maye eventually decided to call.

    Angel Popov: A5
    Asiil Maye: K10

“I’m alive,” a relieved Maye said, thankful he wasn’t in a worst-case scenario. Much to his pleasure, he took a solid lead on the 2K2 flop, and even though asking the Poker Gods for an Ace, the 63 runout didn’t help Popov. He was eliminated in seventh place for £2,020.

    Asiil Maye: 6,900,000
    Angel Popov: 0

  • Yong Doubles Through Walsh

    Christopher Yong
    Level 28:80,000/160,000 (160,000)
    Entries:8/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Nick Walsh made it 350,000 from the Cut-off, and Christopher Yong made the call from the Big Blind. Both players checked the Q84 flop, and they did a copy-paste on the 7 turn. Yong fired 160,000 on the Q river, and Walsh decided to force his opponent all in for 1,180,000. Yong made the call without any considerable hesitation.

    Nick Walsh: JJ
    Christopher Yong: Q9

Being a good sport, Walsh saluted his opponent on a nice hand. Yong received a full double-up and took a large chunk out of the Walsh stack.

    Christopher Yong: 3,200,000
    Nick Walsh: 2,050,000

  • Popov Doubles; “Mr. Y” Out in Ninth

    Michael Gates
    Level 27:60,000/120,000 (120,000)
    Entries:8/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Action folded to Angel Popov, who moved all in for 1,175,000 from the Cut-off. “Mr. X” re-shoved from the Button, and the two contestants were soon heads-up to showdown.

    Angel Popov: A5
    “Mr. X”: 66

Popov wasted little time taking over the lead, as he connected on the KA7 flop. No miracle six for “Mr. X” as the board ran completed with 102, and Popov took the larger chunk out of his opponent’s stack.

Sadly, this live reporter missed the elimination of “Mr. Y”, who was the first casualty on the final table. For his ninth-place finish, “Gates “Mr. Y” received £1,710.

    Angel Popov: 2,600,000
    “Mr. X”: 1,550,000

  • Collaro Out in Tenth Sets Final Table; Huge Pot to Walsh

    Nick Walsh
    Level 26:50,000/100,000 (100,000)
    Entries:9/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Two big hands played out at the two tables simultaneously.

At Table 31, Alessandro Collaro opened to 210,000 from the Cut-off. Dimosthenis Ioannidis made it 550,000 from the Small Blind, and Collaro made the call.

Ioannidis fired a 500,000 continuation bet on the 1097 flop. Collaro moved all in for 1,200,000 in total, and Ioannidis made the call.

    Alessandro Collaro: QJ
    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: A5

Not ideal for Collaro, and the 3A runout sealed his fate. He went out in tenth place for £1,550, and the final table was set.

There was still a hand going on at the other table, though. Nick Walsh had opened to 210,000 UTG, and the Button and the Small Blind both made the call. The player in the Small Blind led out on the 5105 flop, and Walsh was the sole caller. Walsh’s enemy fired 600,000 on the 3 turn, and Walsh decided to stick around.

The opponent checked the Q river, and Walsh moved all in for 990,000. After some consideration, the opponent made the call. Walsh turned over AA, which was deemed the best hand. Walsh will have one of the biggest stacks going into the final table.

    Nick Walsh: 4,700,000

  • Cornell is Out; Final Table Bubble

    Level 26:50,000/100,000 (100,000)
    Entries:10/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Luke Cornell open-shoved roughly 1,600,000 UTG. Action eventually came around to Angel Popov, who contemplated his decision for quite some time before moving all-in from the Small Blind. The dealer counted out the stacks, and the presumptions were clear: Cornell had Popov covered by 115,000.

    Luke Cornell: AQ
    Angel Popov: 77

It feels like Ace-Queen hasn’t been drawing well today. That was at least the case this time, as Popov’s pair was good on the 37K22 board.

Left with a mere 115,000, Cornell was forced all in from the Big Blind the very next hand. Action folded to Alessandro Collaro, who called in the dark from the Small Blind.

    Luke Cornell: Q6
    Alessandro Collaro: A4

Again, no dice for Cornell as the board spelled out 37K22. He was eliminated in eleventh place for £1,550, and the tournament is now on the final table bubble.

    Angel Popov: 3,000,000
    Luke Cornell: 0

  • For Whom the Bell Tolls

    Level 26:50,000/100,000 (100,000)
    Entries:11/621
    Prizes:£155,250

UTG, Christopher Yong min-raised to 200,000. Elom Bell moved all in for 925,000 from the Hi-jack, and once action came back to Yong, he made the call.

    Elom Bell: AQ
    Christopher Yong: 33

Even though it was a flip, Bell didn’t seem too comfortable. Perhaps, he can see into the future, and already knew the board was going to run out 8876J. Ace high was no good, and he went out in twelfth for £1,400.

    Christopher Yong: 3,400,000
    Elom Bell: 0

    Level 25:40,000/80,000 (80,000)
    Entries:12/621
    Prizes:£155,250

One can tell we’re approaching the final table; the celerity of play has gone up, and it’s a more serious and dense environment in the room.

Terence Jordon opened to 200,000 from the Cut-off, and “Mr. X” put in a three-bet to 410,000 from the Small Blind. When action came back to Jordon, he made the call.

“Mr. X” continued for 350,000 on the electrifying A8K board, and Jordon made the call. Both players checked the 9 river, and action repeated itself on the 6 river.

Jordon turned over his AJ holdings. “Mr. X” relieved a heavy sigh, as he revealed the A when he mucked.

    Terence Jordon: 3,150,000
    “Mr. X”: 1,650,000

  • Two Players Out in the Same Hand Before the Break

    Level 25:40,000/80,000 (80,000)
    Entries:14/621
    Prizes:£155,250

The last hand before the break, Elom Bell opened to 200,000 on Blinds 30,000/60,000. Shah Athar made the call from the Small Blind, before Vitalii Seman moved all in for 615,000 from the Big Blind. Bell made the call, and Athar decided to commit his 540,000 to make the call as well. As such, there was a three-way showdown on the last hand before the break.

    Vitalii Seman: 1010
    Elom Bell: AK
    Shah Ahtar: 85

Bell, who had both of his opponents covered, took a solid lead on the 9K6 flop, and his competition wasn’t able to catch up as the board completed with QK. As such, Bell sent two players to the rail, as he improved his stack by some margin.

    Elom Bell: 2,100,000
    Vitalii Seman: 0
    Shah Ahtar: 0

    Level 24:30,000/60,000 (60,000)
    Entries:18/621
    Prizes:£155,250

While I was counting out his stack after eliminating Madalin Costin, Matthew Skeadas told me about an earlier hand, during which he sent Sho Okoda to the rail in twenty-first place.

Okoda opened to 80,000 on Blinds 20,4000/80,000, and Skeadas defended his Big Blind. Action went check-check on the Q22 flop. Skeadas checked again on the 10 turn, and Okoda dipped his toes in the waters with an 80,000 bet. Skeadas then went over the top with a 250,000 raise, and Okoda responded by moving all in for roughly 400,000. Skeadas made the call without hesitation.

    Sho Okoda: AQ
    Matthew Skeadas: 72

The 8 river didn’t help Okoda, and Skeadas enjoyed knocking out an opponent with the worst starting hand in poker.

  • Skeadas Eliminates Costin; Down to Two Tables

    Level 24:30,000/60,000 (60,000)
    Entries:18/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Madalin Costin, one of the few shorter stacks, opened to 550,000, leaving a sole 25,000 chip behind. Seated right next to him, Matthew Skeadas made the call from the Hi-jack, before the remaining players folded.

Costin bet his last 25,000 on the 826 flop, and Skeadas, of course, made the call.

    Madalin Costin: Q10
    Matthew Skeadas: 1010

Costin was drawing extremely thin, and the A3 runout sealed his fate. He was eliminated in nineteenth place for £1,090, and the floor started to conduct a redraw for the final two tables.

    Matthew Skeadas: 1,925,000
    Madalin Costin: 0

    Level 23:20,000/40,000 (40,000)
    Entries:19/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Seated UTG, Asiil Maye opened to 85,000. Danny Shiells (Hi-jack) was the sole caller.

Everything happened very fast at the 537 flop; Maye checked, Shiells bet 85,000, Maye forced his opponent all in for 910,000, and Shiells snap-called.

    Asiil Maye: QQ
    Danny Shiells: KQ

“Hold,” Maye urged the Poker Gods. “Yes, get in there!” Shiells euphorically shouted as he hit the flush on the 6 turn. The 4 was dealt as a pure formality, and Shiells doubled up at this very crucial stage of the tournament.

    Danny Shiells: 1,920,000
    Asiil Maye: 800,000

“Mr. X” opened to 70,000 from the Hi-jack. Seated in the Big Blind, Alessandro Collaro was the sole caller.

First to act, Collaro checked the 8QQ flop. “Mr. X” continued for 50,000, only to be faced with a 150,000 raise from Collaro. After some consideration, “Mr. X” made the call.

Collaro continued on the aggressive path with a 125,000 bet on the Q turn. Again, “Mr. X” called, and the dealer revealed the A on the river. Collaro spent 30 seconds in the tank before checking, and after a similar amount of time, “Mr. X” revealed one of his hole cards, the A, as he checked back.

Collaro shuckled as he revealed his QJ, shocked and in disbelief over the fact that “Mr. X” checked back such a monster hand.

    Alessandro Collaro: 2,450,000
    “Mr. X”: 1,000,000

    Entries:26/621
    Prizes:£155,250

“Mr. X” made it 55,000 from UTG+1. Josue Choppy then moved all in for 425,000 from the Button. Then, Sheh Athar decided to have some fun; he re-shoved his big stack from the Big Blind, a move that scared “Mr. X” away.

    Josue Choppy: JJ
    Sheh Athar: AQ

Athar immediately took the lead on the 7Q8 flop, and he never looked back as the board completed with 27. As such, Choppy bid farewell in twenty-seventh for £780.

    Sheh Athar: 1,950,000
    Josue Choppy: 0

Safak Senyuksel opened to 50,000 from UTG+1. Danny Shiells (UTG+2), Shah Athar (Small Blind), and Terence Jordon (Big Blind) all made the call.

Action was checked to Senyuksel on the Q710 flop, and he continued for 100,000. Shiells and Athar both folded, but Jordon forced his opponent all in for roughly 500,000. Senyuksel made the call fast and deliberate.

    Terence Jordon: 82
    Safak Senyuksel: AQ

Senyuksel was ahead, and he was hoping to dodge the flush. Jordon picked up additional outs on the 2 turn, and the 6 river was the nail in the coffin for Senyuksel. He bid farewell in thirty-fifth for £620, and all his chips went to Jordon.

Action folded to Iulian Rautu, who open-shoved 200,000 from the Hi-jack. After receiving the count, Matthew Skeadas made the call from the Big Blind.

    Iulian Rautu: J10
    Matthew Skeadas: A10

Rautu was not in good shape, and as the board spelled out AQ857, his tournament life came to an end. For his achievements, he was awarded £620.

    Level 19:8,000/16,000 (16,000)
    Entries:40/621
    Prizes:£155,250

This live reporter arrived at Table 31 when the board read 9410 with roughly 100,000 in the middle. Terence Jordon (Small Blind) checked it over to Ian Bosley (UTG), who bet 100,000. Elom Bell (Button) made the call, prior to Jordon moving all in for 313,000. Bosley then re-shoved for roughly 600,000, and after utilizing a timebank chip, Bell mucked his hand.

    Terence Jordon: J8
    Ian Bosley: A10

“You’re ahead, but you’re gonna have to dodge some bullets,” Jordon said to his opponent as they were revealing their cards. Jordon did indeed have many outs to double up, and he immediately improved to a superior pair on the J turn. The 7 river didn’t change the outcome, and Jordon took a big chunk out of the Bosley stack.

    Terence Jordon: 850,000
    Ian Bosley: 275,000

    Ehsan Ur Khan: K6
    “Mr. X”: AK

Ur Khan was in rough shape, and the 2107KJ board offered zero consellation. For his forty-third-place finish, he was awarded £620.

Seated UTG; Vadims Veksins opened to 25,000. Cezar-Stefan Vorniceanu made the call from UTG+1 before Jorge Rebolleda made it 80,000 from the Button. This sent Veksins deep into the tank; he utilized two 30-second timebank chips before moving all in for 148,000. Vorniceanu swiftly folded, but Rebolleda made the call without hesitation.

    Vadims Veksins: 66
    Jorge Rebolleda: 99

Veksins was not pleased to see that he was drawing thin, and he attempted the old “Rise from one’s chair and put the jacket on” trick. The trick that usually never fails did, in fact, fail; the board spelled out [invalid notations], and Veksins bid farewell in fiftieth place for £470.

  • Insane Hand Sees Popov Extend Chip Lead

    Level 18:6,000/12,000 (12,000)
    Entries:51/621
    Prizes:£155,250

I took a stroll through the tournament area and stopped by Table 29 in pursuit of a Big Hand. There, chip leader Angel Popov opened to 25,000 from the Hi-jack. Michail Damoulis made the call from the Small Blind, and “Mr. X” joined the fun from the Big Blind.

As a live reporter, there is a lot of writing a hand up and then scrapping it, as it often turns out not to be that interesting. I certainly thought that was going to be the case this time, as the dealer revealed a Q27 flop. Boy, would I turn out to be wrong. Action was checked to Popov, who fired a 35,000 continuation bet. Damoulis then raised to 80,000, “Mr. X” made the call, and so did Popov.

The turn was the K. Within seconds, Damoulis moved all in for 215,000. “Mr. X” re-shoved for perhaps 230,000, and as if things weren’t already crazy enough, Popov made the call in a heartbeat.

    Michail Damoulis: Q2
    “Mr. X”: QQ
    Angel Popov: KK

What an absolutely insane hand. The river bricked out, and Popov extended his already significant chip lead even further with the double elimination.

    Angel Popov: 1,800,000
    “Mr. X”: 0
    Michail Damoulis: 0

    “Mr. X”: KQ

Collaro was in rough shape, but as the board spelled out 84J96, his tournament life was extended.

    “Mr. X”: 553,000

    Ehsan Ur Khan: 88
    “Mr. X”: AA

“Mr. X” was on the course for a full double-up, and the prophecy came true as the board spelled out 755K10. As “Mr. X” got over 600,000, Ur Khan lost a big chunk of his stack.

Seated UTG+2, big-stacked Mohamed Ramadan opened to a hefty 33,000. Actio folded to Belinda Li Ping, who moved all in for what looked to be around 230,000 from the Small Blind. After the Big Blind folded, Ramadan made the call in a heartbeat.

    Belinda Li Ping: AK
    Mohamed Ramadan: QQ

It was a classic coinflip confrontation, and the 10QA saw Ramadan improving to a set, as Li Ping picked up a straight draw. The 23 runout didn’t help the lovely lady, though; she went out in ninetyth place for £400, as Ramadan’s already impressive stack got even bigger.

  • We’ll go at Five; Guarantee Smashed

It has now been confirmed that Day 2 will start at 17:00.

On the flip side, the £150,000 guarantee has been surpassed, as the final prize pool reads £155,250.

  • A Slight Delay

The turbo and the hyper turbo are still going on. It’s an educated guess that the tournament won’t start for another 30 minutes.

  • Today is the Day

Today is the day, ladies and gentlemen. It’s the final day of the 2025 THMC London, and the main course on today’s menu is Day 2, the final day, of the £280 Main Event.

What a tournament it has been so far. We’ve seen some excellent poker skills on full display, with flabbergasting hands and chips being traded back and forth between owners. Tonight, a winner will be crowned, who’ll not only be awarded the coveted trophy and what is expected to be a juicy first-place payout, but also a package for the 2026 THMC Cape Town Million.

Day 2 will commence at 15:15. As I’m writing this, Day 1f (turbo) and Day 1g (hyper turbo) are currently in full swing. In roughly 15 minutes, rake-free Flip & Go’s will commence, where players can flip for an average Day 2 stack.

We obviously don’t know what players will bag from the ongoing flights, but at this current moment, it looks like Mohamed Ramadan (708,000) will begin Day 2 as the chip leader.

    Nick Walsh

One of the players currently in the turbo flight is PokerStars Commentator Nick Walsh, who arrived last night. During his commute to London, he came up with an excellent idea to buy one lucky follower into the Main Event. The draw was conducted at midnight, and Bryn Palk was deemed the winner. I just took a stroll by Palk’s stack, and he’s down to 8,000. Hopefully, he can turn it around, as it would be a great story if he were to go on a deep run.

The live coverage will commence at 15:15 when the shuffle up and deal takes place on Day 2. See you all then.

Mohammad Joian min-raised to 12,000 UTG. Action folded to Mohamed Ramadan, who made the call from the Small Blind.

Ramadan checked the K42 flop, and Joian fired a 25,000 continuation bet. Ramadan then forced his opponent all in for an additional 60,000, and Joian made the call.

    Mohamed Ramadan: K4
    Mohammad Joian: KJ

Joian was drawing slim, and the 35 runout didn’t help him. As such, Joian became the unfortunate bubble boy, and play in Day 1d has now officially concluded, sending 14 players into Day 2 and the money.

That wraps up today’s live coverage; however, we’ll return with the chip counts later tonight.

Seated UTG+1, Jonathan Church opened to 12,000. Short-stacked Mohammad Joian (Small Blind) was the sole caller.

Joian donk-shoved 42,500 on the A97 flop. Without a shred of hesitation, Church made the call.

    Mohammad Joian: 107
    Jonathan Church: AA

Things were looking like Joian would become the unfortunate bubble boy, but the J8 runout extended his tournament life as he hit a runner-runner straight.

Action folded to Mohamed Ramadan in the Cut-off, who min-raised to 8,000. Mohammad Joian made the call from the Button, before Adam Church moved all in for 33,000 from the Small Blind. Ramadan and Joian both made the call.

After Ramadan checked the 564 flop, Joian bet 50,000. Seconds later, Ramadan announced all in for 162,500. After receiving the call and leaning back in his chair for a minute, Joian made the call.

    Adam Church: K10
    Mohamed Ramadan: 97
    Mohammad Joian: A6

Joian was ahead with top-pair top-kicker, but as the board completed with K2, Ramadan was awarded the best hand with a flush. Church was sent to the rail, and Joian lost the bigger chunk of his stack.

UTG, Adam Church opened to 8,000. Mohamed Mohamed (Lo-jack), Jason Lam (Button), Mohamed Ramadan (Small Blind), and Mohammad Joian all made the call.

Action was checked to Mohammad on the 9108 flop, who moved all in for 43,500. Lam and Joian both made the call; needless to say, there was a big pot brewing.

Action went check-check on the K turn. Joian fired a 50,500 bet on the 7 rivered, which was enough to force a fold out of Ramadan.

    Mohamed Mohamed: A7
    Mohammad Joian: J2

Joian’s rivered straight sent Mohammad to the rail.

    Stephen O’Keeffe

This reporter had a small chat with Stephen O’Keeffe yesterday. O’Keeffe bagged 578,000 from Day 1b, which translated to him ending that particular starting-day flight as the chip leader. Were he to convert his good stack into a tournament win, it would be his second THMC trophy, as he won the £100 Closer during last year’s event here in London.

He’s in good form, seeing as he was on the final table of the 2025 WSOP Circuit Nottingham just a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday, I found out everything there is to know about his half pool ball, which acts as a card protector. Read our little chat by clicking here.

The same applies to every THMC event; the winner not only receives the coveted trophy and the associated payout, but also a Cape Town Package. At the end of each year, The Hendon Mob collaborates with the SunBet Poker Tour by MJPT and arranges a season finale in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa.

This year’s prestigious event wrapped up roughly two weeks ago. THMC Main Event winners throughout the year all traveled to Cape Town, accompanied by many South African players, as they competed for the title in the ZAR 8,000 THMC Cape Town Million event. In the end, the win belonged to Sean Bloom, who was awarded ZAR 350,000 for his feat (which roughly translates to £15,498).

Haik Tougu, winner of the €150 Hendon Mob Championship during the 2025 Festival Rozvadov. Photo: Mairo Toom

Earlier this year, something extraordinary happened during the 2025 Festival Bratislava. Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk (founder of The Festival), Roland Boothby (Head of Partnership at The Hendon Mob), and the King’s Resort casino staff combined forces, and they aimed to create the biggest-ever THMC. They had quite a bold plan to reach their goal: a €300,000 guarantee for a shy €150 Main Event buy-in.

The record to break was 888 runners, which was set during the 2025 Irish Poker Open (the buy-in then was €350). Not only did the Rozvadov operation manage to set a new record by a considerable margin, but the ambitious guarantee was also met. The tournament scored 2,417 entries, which created a €304,542 prize pool. Haik Tougu claimed the €51,300 first-place payout and was crowned the winner of the biggest-to-date THMC.

This poker.pro live reporter actually wrote a longer piece about said event, which can be read by clicking here.

  • Huge Start for Ramadan

    Level 3:200/400 (400)
    Entries:45/49
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Mohamed Ramadan has had a crazy start to Day 1d. Together with Michail Damoulis, he was the biggest stack at Table 26, both contestants playing around 70,000 each.

During the last level with blinds 200/300, Damoulis opened to 900 from the Lo-jack. Ramadan three-bet to 4,000 from the Hi-jack, and when action came back to Damoulis, he made the call.

Damoulis checked the 9J2 flop; “Let it rip,” Ramadan must’ve been thinking, as he moved all in for perhaps 75,000, having his opponent just covered. Damoulis smelled something was off, and he decided to make the call after some consideration.

    Mohamed Ramadan: AA
    Michail Damoulis: K9

The runout didn’t help Damoulis, and as his first bullet came to an end, Ramadan is the current chip leader by some margin.

    Mohamed Ramadan: 148,000
    Michail Damoulis: 0

  • Johnson Pulls the Trigger

    Level 2:200/300 (300)
    Entries:41/43
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Seated UTG+1, Ryan Johnson limped the Big Blind, and Martin Kalinov followed. Claire Taylor then raised to 900, and both of her opponents made the call.

Action was checked to Taylor on the K95 flop, and she continued for another 900. Johnson made the call before Kalinov decided to fold.

On the 2 turn, Johnson check-called a 3,500 bet from Taylor. The river was the 9; after double-checking his holdings and counting his stack, Johnson now decided to move all in for 22,700. A troubled Taylor contemplated a call for perhaps one minute before deciding to muck her hand.

    Ryan Johnson: 41,000
    Calira Taylor: 28,700

Day 1d of the £280 has officially started. The presumptions are the same as for all starting-day flights: late registration is open until the conclusion of Level 10, and play will conclude when 15 % of the field remains. Those who make it through to Day 2 will all be in the money.

  • The Calm Before the Storm

Welcome, all, to the sixth and second-to-last day of the 2025 THMC London. With Day 1d and Day 1e of the £280 Main Event on today’s schedule, this is destined to be the busiest day of the entire festival.

This live reporter just arrived at Genting Casino Stratford, preparing mentally and physically for the 1d coverage. So far, 31 players have advanced to Day 2 from the combined Day 1a, 1b, and 1c. I’d be surprised if they don’t get accompanied by at least 30 more players today.

Check out today’s full schedule below; the blog will go live in roughly 30 minutes for Day 1d.

  • Two Players Simultaneously Out Ends Day 1b

    Level 15:3,000/6,000 (6,000)
    Entries:10/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

At Table 19, Matthew Skeadas opened to 12,000 from the Hi-jack. Antonis Poulengeris (Cut-off) and “Mr. X” both made the call.

“Mr. X” checked the 27Q flop, and Skeadas fired an 18,000 continuation bet. Poulengeris announced a raise to 45,500; “Mr. X” quickly got out of the way, but Skeadas made the call.

Skeadas checked the 8 turn, and Poulengeris wasted little time before moving all in for 100,000. Without hesitation, Skeadas made the call.

    Antonis Poulengeris: 104
    Matthew Skeadas: QJ

Poulengeris’ move didn’t work, and he was drawing dead. I didn’t catch the river card, but it obviously had no impact on the outcome.

The reason I missed the card was that I also kept a close eye on the action at Table 18. Albano Dyrmishi had limped UTG, and Stewart Kirby had then moved all in for 87,000 from the Small Blind. Giuseppe Cerri then re-shoved from the Big Blind for 126,000. Dyrmishi folded, and the two contestants turned over their hole cards.

    Stewart Kirby: 77
    Giuseppe Cerri: KK

No luck for Kirby as the board spelled out 4A4K5, and as such, Kirby was eliminated in eleventh place. This all meant that hand-by-hand play was skipped entirely, and the remaining 10 players all received a Day 2 bag.

While that wraps up today’s live coverage, stay tuned for the chip counts from Day 1b, which I will upload as fast as possible.

    Matthew Skeadas: 363,500
    Giuseppe Cerri: 223,000
    Stewart Kirby: 0
    Antonis Poulengeris: 0

  • The Same Trick Don’t Work Twice

    Yixuan Xu
    Level 15:3,000/6,000 (6,000)
    Entries:12/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

UTG, Yixuan Xu moved all in for 46,000. Action folded all the way to Anooj Sareen, who made the call from the Big Blind.

    Yixuan Xu: K4
    Anooj Sareen: AK

Just like last time, Xu again put on his coat and prepared to exit the tournament area. The trick didn’t work this time, though; big slick was deemed the best hand as the board pronounced Q610108, and Xu went out in thirteenth place.

    Anooj Sareen: 225,000
    Yixuan Xu: 0

  • Xu Doubles Through Dyrmishi

    Yixuan Xu
    Level 14:2,500/5,000 (5,000)
    Entries:16/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Albano Dyrmishi min-raised to 10,000 UTG. Action eventually came to Yixuan Xu, who moved all in for 23,000. Back to Dyrmishi, who was priced in to make the call.

    Yixuan Xu: AK
    Albano Dyrmishi: 22

Xu immediately rose from his chair and started putting on his jacket; the ol’ trick never fails, and he connected his king on the K55 flop. I was a little bit concerned for his sake when he sat back down before the runout, but the Poker Gods let him go with a warning; the board completed with 74, and he doubled through Dyrmishi.

    Yixuan Xu: 58,500
    Albano Dyrmishi: 57,000

  • Half Pool Ball O’Keeffe’s Lucky Charm

    Stephen O’Keeffe
    Level 14:2,500/5,000 (5,000)
    Entries:16/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

I just had to ask Stephen O’Keeffe if there’s an interesting story behind his half pool ball with the number 11 on it. He told me the card protector cost $11, but the shipping cost from the States set him back another $65. His birthday is February eleventh, hence the number 11.

He also told me that he once lost his lucky charm during a poker tournament in the Caribbean. Four months later, an acquaintance approached him during a poker tournament in London, asked, “Is this yours?” and reached over the accessory. He’s been reunited with the 50 % ball since then, and time will tell if it will guide him to his first THMC trophy.

    Stephen O’Keeffe: 305,000

  • Ten is a Magic Number

    Level 13:2,000/4,000 (4,000)
    Entries:17/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Action folded to “Mr. X,” who moved all in for what looked to be 52,000 from the Cut-off. Seated right next to him, Anooj Sareen decided to make the call from the Button. The remaining players all got out of the way.

    “Mr. X”: AQ
    Anooj Sareen: A10

“Mr. X” was way ahead, but Sareen didn’t seem to worry. Perhaps, he can see into the future; he hit trips as the board spelled out 8761010, and “Mr. X” was sent to the rail.

    Anooj Sareen: 232,000
    “Mr. X”: 0

    Level 12:1,500/3,000 (3,000)
    Entries:22/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

“Mr. X”, who potentially is the current chip leader, made it 8,000 from the Hi-jack. Lee Blackburn then three-bet to 23,000 from the Big Blind. “Mr. X” wasted little time forcing his opponent all in for roughly 75,000, and Blackburn made the call faster than the speed of lightning.

    “Mr. X”: 1010
    Lee Blackburn: AK

It was a classic coinflip situation, and the pocket pair was still ahead on the 6Q3 flop. Blackburn was sad not to connect as the board finished with 2J; gracious in defeat, he wished the remaining players the best of luck, before leaving the tournament area.

    “Mr. X”: 362,000
    Lee Blackburn: 0

Seated UTG, “Mr. X” min-raised to 6,000. Albano Dyrmishi made the call from the Hi-jack, prior to “Mr. Y” moving all in for 22,000. “I’ll call you later, bye,” “Mr. X” said as he hung up his phone. He asked for the county, then re-shoved for perhaps 200,000, enough to scare Dyrmishi away.

    “Mr. Y”: K3
    “Mr. X”: AA

“Ai-yaah!” “Mr. Y” gasped as he saw what he was up against. No dice on the 273106 runout, and yet another player bit the dust.

    “Mr. X”: 260,000
    “Mr. Y”: 0

  • Popov Bids Farewell

    Level 11:1,500/3,000 (3,000)
    Entries:25/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

“Mr. X” decided to limp the 3,000 Big Blind from UTG. Action eventually came around to Angel Popov, who moved all in for 31,500 from the Button. Back to “Mr. X,” who made the call after not too much consideration.

    Angel Popov: A5
    “Mr. X”: 88

Popov was drawing slim, and he didn’t improve his hand as the board spelled out 49Q72.

    “Mr. X”: 111,000
    Angel Popov: 0

  • Kicker Problem

    Level 11:1,500/3,000 (3,000)
    Entries:26/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Seated UTG, Antonis Poulengeris min-raised to 6,000. Sebastian Smith (UTG+2) and “Mr. X” (Big Blind) both decided to join in on the fun.

Action kicked off with a good ol’ check-check-check on the A53 flop. “Mr. X” then opted for a 3,500 bet on the 4 turn, a bet which was called by both of his opponents.

“Mr. X” checked the dripping wet 3 river, prior to Poulengeris putting out a 5,000 bet. Smith made the call in a heartbeat before “Mr. X” mucked his hand.

    Antonis Poulengeris: AJ
    Sebastian Smith: AQ

No flush, straight, or full house for either player, and with a superior kicker, the pot had Smith’s name on it.

    Sebastian Smith: 118,000
    Antonis Poulengeris: 116,000

    Entries:34/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

UTG+2, Marcus Jones min-raised to 3,000. Louis Francis (Big Blind) was the sole caller.

Both players decided to check the unapologetical 263 flop. Francis dipped his toes in the water with a 3,000 bet on the 5 turn, and Jones decided to stick around. The dealer revealed the 9 river, and Francis now sized up to 12,000. While Jones contemplated his decision, I exchanged a few words with Stephen O’Keeffe, asking him if he enjoyed his final table performance on the £1,500 Main Event during the 2025 WSOP Circuit Nottingham a few weeks ago. Right when we ended our little chat, Jones made the call.

    Louis Francis: Q8
    Marcus Jones: A10

An impressive call with ace high from the good lad, who took down the pot. Level 10, i.e., the last level of late registration, is just about to commence.

    Louis Francis: 115,000
    Marcus Jones: 84,000

    Level 7:500/1,000 (1,000)
    Entries:43/62
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

There’s no reason to be sad that this is the last THMC of 2025. Of course, the much-appreciated live poker event will return next year, both in the form of standalone festivals, but also in conjunction with other events.

There will be several tournaments in 2026, but the only one announced so far is the €350 THMC, which will be part of the 2026 Irish Poker Open. The festival will be held from March 26 to April 6, with Day 1 of the THMC scheduled for March 31. The affair will conclude on Day 2, April 1.

I remember being on-site at the Royal Dublin Society this year to watch the exciting conclusion. The tournament scored 888 entries, and it was very close; the first-ever female THMC winner was crowned, as well as experienced Charlie Waters, who finished second. She got €40,000, which was actually the biggest cash prize, as she and her opponent made a heads-up deal.

Will the ongoing THMC London perhaps see a woman lift the coveted Main Event trophy for a first time?

    Raafat El Sharawi: 85

  • Actors and Directors on The Hendon Mob

    Level 6:400/800 (800)
    Entries:45/58
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

In the most recent post, I reported on a hand including a player named Michael Moore. I was disappointed to see that it, in fact, wasn’t the movie director with the same name. It got me thinking, though, what prominent actors and movie directors have dabbled in various games? Considering this is THMC, I wanted to see if I could find any interesting profiles on The Hendon Mob.

Ben Affleck, known for movies such as Good Will Hunting and Batman, is a stellar example. He won the $10,000 California State Championship back in 2004, but has no registered results after that.

Matt Damon has one official result on his profile. In a poker context, he’s best known for playing Mike McDermott in “Rounders”, by many considered the best poker film out there. He also played the 2009 WSOP Main Event, where his acting with a full house was mediocre at best.

Tobey Maguire, known for Spider-Man, is allegedly a decent player in the private Hollywood High Stakes Games. His Hendon Mob profile suggests he knows what he’s doing at the poker tables.

Then, of course, we have my favorite character in all of TV, Jason Alexander. Known for playing George Costanza in Seinfeld, Alexander’s most recent result came back in 2024. My poker coach actually played with Alexander once, who said when he sat down at the table, “Just so you guys know, I’m really not that funny.”

The list can potentially be made even longer, but the moral of the story here is that The Hendon Mob is one cool database, including historic results from players known well outside the poker scene.

“Two sharks and one fish,” “Mr. X” joked as he was first to act on the 93J flop. He decided on a 2,200, and both his opponents called. Action went check-check-check on the 7 turn, and “Mr. X” then bet 3,600 on the K river. Moore made the call in a heartbeat, before Demetriou decided to fold.

“Queen high,” “Mr. X” laughed as he urged Moore to show his hand. Being a good sport, Moore turned over KJ for two pairs and was awarded the pot.

With his elimination of Rudy Hanna, Joseph Saunders is now crowned the winner of the £200 Opener. Saunders locked up £7,495 after the heads-up deal; it’s his biggest ever live cash, but he was more excited about winning a Hendon Mob hoodie and the iconic trophy.

That wraps up today’s live coverage. The blog will go live tomorrow at 13:15, when it’s time for Day 1b of the £280 Main Event. Before that, a recap of today’s action (and the Main Event Day 1a chip counts) will also be published. Thanks to everyone who’s been following along with the action, and we’ll see you tomorrow.

UTG, Mohammad Joian opened to 125,000. Action eventually came to Kourosh Arshadnejad, who moved all in for 1,705,000 from the Button. Joian didn’t hesitate a second; he made the call in a heartbeat.

    Kourosh Arshadnejad: AK
    Mohammad Joian: AA

“Nice hand,” Arshadnejad granted his opponent once the cards were revealed. “Surely not,” this reporter was thinking to himself as the dealer revealed the JQ4 flop. Well, would you look at that: Arshadnejad improved to a straight on the 10, and the 9 river didn’t bring the chop Joian hoped for. He was covered for Arshadnejad and was eliminated in eighth place for £790.

    Kourosh Arshadnejad: AK

“Let’s go,” an excited Boothby pumped himself up. “Not ideal,” he said as the dealer revealed the KQ7. He got some hope when the 9 landed on the turn. “That’ll do,” he declared on the 10 river. “The Hendon Mob Guy” survives.

    Zhivko Zhivkov: AQ
    Mohammad Joian: 76

Zhivkov was ahead, but he was understandably afraid to see his opponent’s hand. He managed to avoid disaster, though, as the board spelled out K49J3. At the same time, at the other table, Roland Boothby eliminated the entertaining Preston Makonda in fourteenth place for £475, after hitting a runner-runner straight.

    James Smith: KJ
    Mohammad Joian: 74

Joian was ahead with two pairs, and no dice for Smith as the board completed with Q10. As such, Smith was eliminated in fifteenth place for £475, and Joian added to his already impressive stack.

The board read 752 with roughly 150,000 in the middle. Marius Condrea had forced Preston Lokondo all in for 210,000, and Lokondo looked troubled. He utilized three timebank chips before making the call.

    Marius Condrea: 99
    Preston Lokondo: KQ

Lokondo was pleased to see he had a lot of equity, and as the K landed on the turn, he rose from his chair and started dancing, accompanied by some soothing humming. The river (which I apparently didn’t write down) didn’t kill his buzz, and he received a double-up at this very crucial stage of the tournament.

    Zhivko Zhivkov: K9
    Maksim Belomstnoi: 55

It was a classic coinflip confrontation, and Belomstnoi’s pocket pair was still ahead on the A88 flop. He managed to dodge disaster as the board completed with 106, and he received a nice double-up.

Faster than the speed of lightning, Arshadnej announced “raise” to 75,000. After a few seconds’ worth of consideration, Zhivkov made the call.

Both players checked the 2 turn and the 2 river. Zhivkov turned over K9, and seeing as Arshadnej mucked his hand, a pair of Kings was enough to take down the pot.

    Entries:23/175
    Prizes:£31,500

The tournament is progressing at a rapid pace, and the floor just announced that hand-by-hand play would commence on the bubble. Ten seconds after the dealers were given the green light to deal one more hand, it was announced that the remaining players were, in fact, in the money. After double-checking the number of players left in the field, the floor could confirm it was 23, and not 24 like they initially thought.

That being said, this live reporter sadly missed the bubble hand. Nevertheless, all players are now guaranteed a £410 min-cash. The Hendon Mob’s Head of Partnership, Roland Boothby, will need to reach the final table to break even, as he fired three bullets on Day 1.

Last year, there were six events on the schedule, and naturally, the £280 Main Event was the big one. It was won by Gary Miller, who is quite experienced on the scene. Time will tell if he’ll show up to defend his title.

  • The Music Quiz Grandmaster Bids Farewell

Glenn Brown during the 2025 Kings of Vilnius
    Level 16:4,000/8,000 (8,0000)
    Entries:34/175
    Prizes:£31,500

The James Bond of poker media, Glenn Brown, was my driver to Genting Casino Stratford today. While I was preparing mentally for the reporting, 007 hyped himself up for playing the £200 Opener himself. During the car ride, I quizzed Brown on British music, and he did a stellar job (albeit he didn’t recognize Freddie Mercury’s voice). “If you’re as good at poker, this’ll be a walk in the park for you,” I said to my driver as we entered the casino.

Brown committed 16,000 from his 150,000 stack to an opening from the Lo-jack. Christopher Yong made the call from the Hi-jack, before Bogdan Jaworski moved all in for 33,000 from the Button. Back to Brown, who re-shoved, and Yong made the call.

    Bogdan Jaworski: 87
    Glenn Brown: AJ
    Christopher Yong: AQ

Brown was praying for a Jack, but the Poker Gods refused to listen. Yong won a big pot as the board ran out 49465, and Jaworski trippled up with a straight.

    Bogdan Jaworski: 120,000

I was told about a hand that played out on Table 31 a few minutes ago. Rudy Hanna opened to 12,500, and Mohammad Joian then three-bet to 33,000. Hanna made the call.

First to act, Hanna checked the 9Q8 flop, and Joian continued for 35,000. Hanna then moved all in, and was called by Joian (who had Hanna covered).

    Rudy Hanna: Q10
    Mohammad Joian: AA

Hanna was trailing, but as the board completed with 3Q, he took the pot down with trips. Hanna’s been on a heater since, and chances are good he’s the current chip leader.

    Entries:45/175
    Prizes:£31,500 GTD

“Let’s see if I can bust from the same seat three times,” Deniz Orhan joked as he moved all in for 24,000 from UTG+1. Rutuj Mhaske re-shoved for 37,000 from the Lo-jack; Wai Lam (Cut-off) and Rioland Boothby (Small Blind) both made the call.

Lam and Boothby locked horns for the side pot, and they both started off by checking the 4A8 flop. Boothby bet 25,000 on the 3 turn, and Lam decided to stick around.

The dealer revealed the 5 on the river, and after an initial check from Boothby, Lam bet 25,000. Boothby wasted little time before moving all in for 90,000 in total. Lam sighed, leaned back in his chair, and made the call after 20 seconds of consideration.

Boothby turned over 88, and it was deemed the winning hand. He won a considerable pot and sent Orhan and Mhaske to the rail.

    Roland Boothby: 393,000
    Wai Lam: 66,000
    Rutuj Mhaske: 0
    Deniz Orhan: 0

The last hand before the break, three players clashed all in. The Hendon Mob’s Head of Partnership, Roland Boothby, contemplated a move, but decided to muck his hand.

    Deniz Orhan: Q2
    Bodo Wagner: 66
    “Mr. X:” K9

“There’d better not be a five on the flop,” Boothby said, revealing he folded Pocket Fives. “No!” he shouted in grief as the dealer revealed the 35K flop. “Mr. X” took a solid lead, and his opponents didn’t catch up on the 7J. Orhan was eliminated, while Wagner survived with one sole 1,000 chip.

    Roland Boothby: 188,000
    Mr. X: 155,000
    Bodo Wagner: 1,000

Action folded to “Mr. X”, who opened to 10,000 from the Hi-jack. When it was Mohamed Mohamed’s turn to act, he made it 55,000 from the Big Blind. This sent “Mr. X” deep into the tank; he utilized four 30-second timebank chips before he made the call.

“If an ace or a king comes on the flop, it’s your pot,” “Mr. X” told his opponent. The dealer revealed the 7K5 flop, and just as predicted, Mohamed forced “Mr. X” all in for 69,000. “Mr. X” wasted little time before mucking his hand.

    Mohamed Mohamed: 200,000
    Mr. X: 69,000

  • Great Start for Brown; Eldarova Out on First Hand

    Level 12:1,500/3,000 (3,000)
    Entries:54/154
    Prizes:£30,000 GTD

Right from the get-go, poker.pro host Glenn Brown went on a heater. The very first hand, he doubled up with Pocket Aces, and a few hands later, he hit the Nut Flush with his A7 holdings and won another big pot.

Someone who didn’t have a good start was poker.pro strategy content guru Aytan Eldarova. On the very first hand, she found herself all-in preflop for starting stack. She’d run her Kings into Aces, and even though she flopped a set of Cowboys, a brutal Ace on the river put an end to her short ventures. Time will tell whether she decides to rebuy.

  • Welcome to the Live Blog; Opener Finale and First Main Event Flight on Today’s Menu

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the poker.pro live blog that will cover the 2025 Hendon Mob Championship (THMC) London.

Not many live poker events are as enjoyable as The Hendon Mob Championship. The tournament has been held several times in 2025, mostly in conjunction with other festivals. Champions have been crowned in Malta, Rozvadvov, Bratislava, and more. There’s also been standalone festivals in Liechtenstein and Nottingham, and let’s not forget about the THMC Cape Town Million, which was played just a few weeks ago.

Now, the season will wrap up with a third and final standalone festival at Genting Casino Stratford (formerly known as Aspers). This blonde, Swedish Viking has been blessed with the opportunity to provide the live coverage, which will commence today at 16:15. Today’s focus will be Day 2 of the £200 Opener. The tournament kicked off yesterday with the Day 1 flight, and those who made it through to Day 2 will be accompanied by some additional players, seeing as late registration will be open during the first two levels today.

Day 1 scored 133 entries. Kourosh Arshadnejad is the chip leader going into Day 2 with 643,500; all chip counts will be uploaded in a minute.

Apart from the Day 2 finale, the £280 Main Event also starts today with its first starting-day flight. With a £150,000 guarantee, this event is expected to attract a large number of players across its total of seven starting-day flights.

As I’m writing this, there’s also a £30 Main Event cashout satellite running with five seats guaranteed. Another one will start at 17:15.

    2025 THMC London – December 4 Schedule

The Hendon Mob is set to close out its 2025 live poker season in style with a standalone London festival at Genting Casino Stratford, featuring a £150,000 guaranteed Main Event and a full week of action-packed tournaments.

After a record-breaking year that saw THMC events thrive across Europe, the December stop brings the spotlight firmly back to London, with satellites, mixed games, and one of the most anticipated €280 Main Events of the year.

    Level 14:3,000/6,000 (6,000)
    Entries:14/90
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

    Mohamed Ramadan: 708,000
    Mohammad Joian: 0

Seated UTG+1, Jonathan Church opened to 12,000. Short-stacked Mohammad Joian (Small Blind) was the sole caller.

Joian donk-shoved 42,500 on the A97 flop. Without a shred of hesitation, Church made the call.

    Mohammad Joian: 107
    Jonathan Church: AA

Things were looking like Joian would become the unfortunate bubble boy, but the J8 runout extended his tournament life as he hit a runner-runner straight.

    Jonathan Church: 455,000
    Mohammad Joian: 90,000

    Level 13:2,000/4,000 (4,000)
    Entries:18/90

    Mohamed Ramadan: 440,000
    Mohammad Joian: 65,000
    Adam Church: 0

  • A Rivered Straight

    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

    Mohammad Joian: 352,000
    Mohamed Mohamed: 0

  • The O’Keeffe Anecdote

  • Main Event Winner Gets a Cape Town Package

Sean Bloom, winner of the ZAR 8,000 THMC Main Event during the 2025 SunBet Poker Tour by MJPT & THMC Cape Town Million

The winner of the ongoing 2025 THMC London Main Event will be the first one to win a Cape Town package for 2026; perhaps, it will be you who will secure your future poker adventure of a lifetime?

    John Friel: AK

All three players checked the 1028 flop. Jiang then bet 2,000 on the 3 turn, only to be faced with an 8,000 raise from “Mr. X”. Gold siwftly folded before Jiang made the call.

Jiang checked the wet 10 river, and “Mr. X” sized up to 16,000. Jiang didn’t ponder too long before making the call.

It’s the first 15-minute break of the day, and I managed to identify some of the biggest stacks in the room. Just as expected, Mohamed Ramadan is the current chip leader.

    Entries:53/61
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Action folded to Kevin Edwards, who limped 500 from the Cut-off. Madalin Costin didn’t allow it and put in a 1,500 raise from the Button. Robert Stafford called from the Small Blind, and Edwards also joined in on the fun.

Check-check prior to Costin continuing for 2,100 on the 10K2 flop. Stafford made the call before Edwards mucked. Both players checked the 10 turn. Stafford completed the check trifecta on the 8 river, and then called a 2,300 bet from Costin.

Costin revealed his K6 holdings, which were deemed the winning hand.

    Robert Stafford: 61,000
    Madalin Costin: 50,000

    Level 11:1,500/3,000 (3,000)
    Entries:23/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Seated UTG, “Mr. X” min-raised to 6,000. Albano Dyrmishi made the call from the Hi-jack, prior to “Mr. Y” moving all in for 22,000. “I’ll call you later, bye,” “Mr. X” said as he hung up his phone. He asked for the county, then re-shoved for perhaps 200,000, enough to scare Dyrmishi away.

    “Mr. Y”: K3
    “Mr. X”: AA

“Ai-yaah!” “Mr. Y” gasped as he saw what he was up against. No dice on the 273106 runout, and yet another player bit the dust.

    “Mr. X”: 260,000
    “Mr. Y”: 0

  • Popov Bids Farewell

    Level 11:1,500/3,000 (3,000)
    Entries:25/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

“Mr. X” decided to limp the 3,000 Big Blind from UTG. Action eventually came around to Angel Popov, who moved all in for 31,500 from the Button. Back to “Mr. X,” who made the call after not too much consideration.

    Angel Popov: A5
    “Mr. X”: 88

Popov was drawing slim, and he didn’t improve his hand as the board spelled out 49Q72.

    “Mr. X”: 111,000
    Angel Popov: 0

  • Kicker Problem

    Level 11:1,500/3,000 (3,000)
    Entries:26/65
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Seated UTG, Antonis Poulengeris min-raised to 6,000. Sebastian Smith (UTG+2) and “Mr. X” (Big Blind) both decided to join in on the fun.

Action kicked off with a good ol’ check-check-check on the A53 flop. “Mr. X” then opted for a 3,500 bet on the 4 turn, a bet which was called by both of his opponents.

“Mr. X” checked the dripping wet 3 river, prior to Poulengeris putting out a 5,000 bet. Smith made the call in a heartbeat before “Mr. X” mucked his hand.

    Antonis Poulengeris: AJ
    Sebastian Smith: AQ

No flush, straight, or full house for either player, and with a superior kicker, the pot had Smith’s name on it.

    Sebastian Smith: 118,000
    Antonis Poulengeris: 116,000

    Level 9:1,000/1,500 (1,500)

Both players checked the 7106 flop. El Sharawi bet 5,000 on the 8 turn, and Dyrmishi made the call. Action went check-check on the A river.

    Raafat El Sharawi: 85
    Albano Dyrmishi: 1010

This reporter had to look at the board three times before I realized Sharawi didn’t have a straight. As such, the pot was awarded to Dyrmishi.

    Level 5:300/600 (600)
    Entries:47/58
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Action folded to “Mr. X,” who opened to 1,300 from the Lo-jack. Michael Moore (Cut–off) and George Demetriou (Button) both decided to make the call.

    Michael Moore: 68,000
    George Demetriou: 48,000
    “Mr. X”: 31,000

  • Sweet for Sweeney

    Level 4:300/500 (500)
    Entries:43/50
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

After some initial opening and calling from various players, Serhii Lubyk moved all in for 8,300 from the Hi-jack. Seated right next to him, Barry Sweeney re-shoved for 25,000 from the Cut-off. The remaining players all got out of the way.

    Serhii Lubyk: A4
    Barry Sweeney: QQ

Sweeney was ahead, and no dice for Lubyk as the board spelled out KK529. Lubyk’s tournament life came to an end, and time will tell if he decides to re-enter (available until the end of Level 10).

    Barry Sweeney: 34,200
    Serhii Lubyk: 0

Below are all the photos that were taken during yesterday’s Day 1a flight (December 4).

  • Riot the Winning Machine

    Emilia Riot
    Level 3:200/400 (400)
    Entries:39/43
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

Emilia Riot was one of the eight players who managed to find a bag in yesterday’s Day 1a flight. Even though she won’t be going into Day 2 as one of the biggest stacks, the competition should be very aware of this skillful opponent. Riot’s profile on The Hendon Mob suggests she started playing regulated live poker tournaments in 2023. Since her first registered result, five out of ten cashes are first-place finishes, and only two of her cashes are non-final table results.

Riot is a winning machine, and time will tell if her momentum will continue here in Stratford.

  • The Unique Charm of THMC

    Roland Boothby
    Level 3:200/400 (400)
    Entries:36/38
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

One can’t deny that there’s something special about THMC. Whether it’s a standalone festival, like the one happening right here, right now in London, or part of a larger event (such as The Festival), the tournament always manages to attract a large number of players. Yesterday’s winner of the £200 Opener, Joseph Saunders, said himself that he’s trying to attend all THMCs because they’re so well-run and organized. Of course, it’s also beneficial for all players who cash in the event to receive a unique flag on their profile on The Hendon Mob.

At the beginning of 2025, I wrote an article recapping all former THMC winners. Read the article here and browse through the Hall of Fame.

  • Friendly Banter And a Straight

    Level 2:200/300 (300)
    Entries:21/22
    Prizes:£150,000 GTD

As the dealer at Table 17 distributed the cards, the players seemed to be discussing UK gambling legislation. While exchanging opinions, Lee Blackburn opened to 700 from the Cut-off, and Stephen O’Keeffe (who made the final table at the 2025 WSOP Circuit Nottingham just a few weeks ago) made the call from the Big Blind.

O’Keeffe checked the 257 flop, and Blackburn continued for 600. “So far, I think you have kings,” O’Keeffe said as he made the call. The dealer revealed the 4 on the turn; O’Keeffe checked, Blackburn bet 1,100, and O’Keeffe made the call as fast as humanly possible.

“That’s the one,” O’Keeffe said as the 7 fell on the turn. He comfortably bet out 4,000, and Blackburn twisted and turned for 10 seconds before making the call.

    Stephen O’Keeffe: A7
    Lee Blackburn: 86

“How do you not re-raise me with a straight there?” a shocked O’Keeffe said, perhaps relieved he got away cheap.

    Lee Blackburn: 54,000
    Stephen O’Keeffe: 47,000

    Level 31:200,000/400,000 (400,000)

Matthew Skeadas moved all in for 4,350,000 from the Button. After receiving the count, Dimosthenis Ioannidis made the call.

    Matthew Skeadas: KJ
    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: QJ

Skeadas was in good shape to double up, and things still looked very promising on the 739 flop. Ioannidis found many more outs on the 8 turn, but the 8 river granted Skeadas a full double-up.

    Dimosthenis Ioannidis: 15,940,000
    Matthew Skeadas: 8,900,000

  • Asiil Maye Eliminated in 3rd Place (£15,840)

    Asiil Maye

    Level 29:100,000/200,000 (200,000)
    Entries:3/621
    Prizes:£155,250

  • Terence Jordon Eliminated in 5th Place (£6,520)

    Level 29:100,000/200,000 (200,000)
    Entries:4/621

Terence Jordon had been short-stacked for quite some time and had done a great job getting through a payjump or two. Eventually, he decided to move all in for 325,000 from the Button, and was called by Christopher Yong in the Big Blind.

    Terence Jordon: K10
    Christopher Yong: 99

Jordon didn’t manage to connect on the 45AAQ board, and as such, he went out in fifth place for £6,520.

    Christopher Yong: 4,100,000
    Terence Jordan: 0

  • Nick Walsh Eliminated in 6th Place (£4,500)

    Nick Walsh
    Level 29:100,000/200,000 (200,000)

    Level 28:80,000/160,000 (160,000)
    Entries:7/621
    Prizes:£155,250

Christopher Yong opened to 400,000 from the Hi-jack. “Mr. X” then moved all in for 700,000 from the Big Blind. Yong, of course, made the call.

    “Mr. X”: 77
    Christopher Yong: A6

“Mr. X” had a decent chance of doubling up, but he was counterfeited as the board spelled out 1010883. As such, “Mr. X” was sent to the rail and got £2,950 for his seventh-place finish.

    Christopher Yong: 3,550,000

    Iulian Rautu: J10
    Matthew Skeadas: A10

Rautu was not in good shape, and as the board spelled out AQ857, his tournament life came to an end. For his achievements, he was awarded £620.

  • Veksins is Out

    Vadims Veksins
    Level 18:6,000/12,000 (12,000)
    Entries:47/621
    Prizes:£155,250

    Jorge Rebolleda: 675,000
    Vadims Veksins: 0

  • Collaro Survives

    Level 18:6,000/12,000 (12,000)
    Entries:54/621
    Prizes:£155,250

“Mr. X” opened to 21,000 from the Button. Alessandro Collaro was just moved to the table and placed in the Big Blind; he moved all in for 91,000, and “Mr. X” made the call.

    Alessandro Collaro: KJ
    “Mr. X”: KQ

Collaro was in rough shape, but as the board spelled out 84J96, his tournament life was extended.

    “Mr. X”: 553,000
    Alessandro Collaro: 110,000

Edward Copesteak moved all in for 95,000 UTG. Very casually, Elom Bell made the call from the Hi-jack, and the remaining players all mucked.

    Edward Copesteak: AQ
    Elom Bell: KK

“I think ace on the turn,” table mate Jonathan Church offered Copesteak some words. The dealer revealed the 695 flop, and then, Church’s prediction proved to be spot on. The A made its appearance on the river, and no case king for Bell on the J river.

    Edward Copesteak: 215,000
    Elom Bell: 130,000

Ehsan Ur Khan opened to 23,000 UTG, prior to “Mr. X” making it 75,000 from the Hi-jack. When action came back to Ur Khan, he forced his opponent all in for 299,000. “Mr. X” made the call faster than the speed of lightning.

    Ehsan Ur Khan: 88
    “Mr. X”: AA

“Mr. X” was on the course for a full double-up, and the prophecy came true as the board spelled out 755K10. As “Mr. X” got over 600,000, Ur Khan lost a big chunk of his stack.

    “Mr. X”: 618,000
    Ehsan Ur Khan: 178,000

  • Li Ping is Out; Ramadan’s Stack Keeps Increasing

    Mohamed Ramadan
    Level 16:4,000/8,000 (8,000)
    Entries:95/621
    Prizes:£155,250

    Mohamed Ramadan: 950,000
    Belinda Li Ping: 0

    Prizes:£155,250

Finally, Day 2 has officially started. The 96 brave contestants are all guaranteed a £400 min-cash, and up top is a juicy £33,680. The full payouts will be posted shortly.

  • THMC Closes 2025 Season in London

The Hendon Mob Championship Global Poker Index Backdrop

The Hendon Mob is set to close out its 2025 live poker season in style with a standalone London festival at Genting Casino Stratford, featuring a £150,000 guaranteed Main Event and a full week of action-packed tournaments.

After a record-breaking year that saw THMC events thrive across Europe, the December stop brings the spotlight firmly back to London, with satellites, mixed games, and one of the most anticipated €280 Main Events of the year.
