  • Praba Siva Goes Back-to-Back after Defetaing Andy Truong Heads up

After nearly 16 hours at the tables, Praba Siva has gone back-to-back with his second ring. Not only is it his second ring, but he won his first ring in this very event in January of this year.

In general, this isn’t an easy tournament to win, as it requires mastery of both two-card and four-card poker, but today’s game may have been even more difficult. When they got down to the final table, it included players like Dylan Payne, Colten Yamagishi, 3rd place Scott Stuve, Ning Wang, Deven Lane, Kurtis Ruhl, Clint Clarkson, Debi Loomer, and the runner-up Andy Truong — it was pretty hard to point to an “easy spot” in the group.

The early game played pretty quickly tonight, but once they got to the final table it ground to a halt. Debi Loomer left the ten-handed FT relatively quickly in 10th, but they played 9-handed for about 90 minutes before Colten Yamagishi opened the floodgates. They went from 9 to 4 in less than a level, then battled four-handed for a bit, but the blinds were getting big and the stacks short.

Siva was running pure, holding a stack near the top of the list for pretty much the whole game. He was almost down and out after Deven Lane took a big double off of him, but he got it right back a few hands later. He put Lane back on fumes in a spot where they both flopped trip sevens, and it looked like a chop pot until Siva turned the boat.

Siva then sent Scott Stuve out in 3rd place to set up a quick heads-up. Both he and Truong were happy to get their chips in, and Siva won it when he cracked Truong’s aces with the spade flush to end the game.

    Scott Stuve

Andy Truong rasied to 150k and Praba Siva called before Scott Stuve shoved 195k blind from his big blind. Both active players called, then checked through the 3562A board until the river, where Siva shoved and Truong folded.

Siva had the nuts with K8, and Stuve had “blind nines”, as he put it, when he looked at his hand for the first time. Siva now has the big lead with about 3.6 million to 1 million for Truong.

    Level:25 (30000/30000/60000 NLH)
    Entries:3/183
    Prizes:$94,245
    Deven Lane

Deven Lane was left short after the recent hand against Praba Siva, and when it folded to him in the small blind, he shoved pocket nines. Andy Truong woke up with ace-queen in the big blind and snapped it off.

It was all Truong on the AA2QJ board and Lane was out in 4th place.

  • Siva Back to the Lead

    Level:24 (25000/50000/50000 PLO)
    Entries:4/183
    Prizes:$94,245

Praba Siva and Deven Lane have been going at each other recently. After Lane doubled to the lead through Siva, he just returned the favour.

Siva limp-called under the gun when Lane potted the small blind to 200k. It all kicked off on the 773 flop when they both hit trip sevens. Lane potted to 500k, then snapped it off with Siva shoved over him.

    Deven Lane: AAQ7
    Praba Siva: AK87

They were looking at a chopped pot until Siva turned the boat on the 84 runout.

  • Lane Doubles to Lead

    Level:24 (25000/50000/50000 PLO)
    Entries:4/183
    Prizes:$94,245

Praba Siva raised the button to 175k and Scott Stuve called from the small blind before big blind Deven Lane potted to 700k. Siva repotted to force Lane all in, and Stuve got out of the way.

    Deven Lane: AA74
    Prbab Siva: AQ62

Lane flopped a flush draw, and stayed ahead through the entire board of 38J610, and he doubled to around 2 million and the chip lead.

  • Lane Doubles to Stay Alive, to the Chagrin of the Table

    Level:24 (25000/50000/50000 PLO)
    Entries:4/183
    Prizes:$94,245

No one at the table was rooting for Deven Lane, outside of Lane himself, when he limped the button, then called off a pot bet from big blind Praba Siva. That left Lane with just fumes behind on the 2Q3 flop.

Siva potted to put Lane all in, and he called, showing QJ107 for a pair of queens, but Siva was on aces. Lane turned a huge wrap with the K, then hit the 9 river for the straight.

  • Dylan Payne Out in 5th Place for $5,136

    Level:23 (20000/40000/40000 NLH)
    Entries:4/183
    Prizes:$94,245
    Dylan Payne

Dylan Payne had a wild ride in the endgame of this one. He spent the last couple of hours nursing a short stack through what seemed like interminable nine-handed play, then finally watched as he got some ladders as other short stacks busted.

Then he ran into a dream spot, except it was for his last 20k. He had nines, against tens for Deven Lane, and jacks for Praba Siva, so it didn’t look like a great spot until he flopped quad nines. Lane rivered a set of tens on the [invalid notations] but ran into ace-king for Andy Truong. Payne flopped a heart draw, but then bricked when the board ran out 8469A.

  • Clint Clarkson Out in 6th Place for $3,812

    Level:23 (20000/40000/40000 NLH)
    Entries:5/183
    Prizes:$94,245

They are down to five ways now after Clint Clarkson lost his stack recently. I missed the action while in the washroom.

  • King Wang Out in 7th Place for $2,914

    Level:23 (20000/40000/40000 NLH)
    Entries:6/183
    Prizes:$94,245
    Ning Wang

They are down to 6 now, in a flurry of hands. I missed the action while I was writing up the previous bust, but Ning “King” Wang followed Kurtis Ruhl to the cage for $2,914 for 6th place.

  • Kurtis Ruhl Out in 8th Place for $2,297

    Level:23 (20000/40000/40000)
    Entries:7/183
    Prizes:$94,245
    Kurtis Ruhl

It’s been a bit of an ICM battle amongst the short stacks, with two players having most of the chips right now. Andy Truong just shoved his small blind with a bit more than Kurtis Ruhl in the big, and Ruhl called it off for his life.

Ruhl was on suited connectors with 109, while Truong had K4. Ruhl flopped a diamond draw, but theh bricked while Truong hit the river on a board of Q468K.

  • Siva Looks to go Back to Back

    Level:23 (20000/40000/40000 NLH)
    Entries:8/183
    Prizes:$94,245

Praba Siva won this ring in January of this year, and it looks like he might be on his way to winning it again. He has just shy of 2 million chips right now, with his closest competitor, Scott Stuve, at less than 1.2 million.

Clint Clarkson raised to 60k from the hijack before Andy Truong shoved for 145k from the button. Praba Siva thought about making a move from the big blind, but ultimately mucked before Clarkson called it off with more.

    Clint Clarkson: KK72
    Andy Truong: AQ103

Truong hit both the ace & queen on the flop and faded the king to double to more than 300k.

    WSOP-C Oct 2025 Infocard
    Date:Oct 1, 3 PM
    Blinds:30 Mnutes
    Starting Stack:25k
    Late Entry:10 Level (~9 PM)

The second half of opening day for WSOP-C Cal Oct 2025 is all about the half-half. The game starts with NLH in Level 1, and moves to PLO for Level 2, with that same pattern repeating all night.

Players start with 25k in chips for their $600, and levels will change every 30 minutes. The late-entry desk is open until about 9 PM, at the start of Level 11. There are breaks after Levels 4, 8, 10, 14, 18, 22, & 26.

I likely won’t be following this one very closely in the early part of the day, as I’ll be on the Bog 30 Stack. I expect this one to go late, however, so I’m sure I’ll catch some action at the end.

    Ning Wang

    Clint Clarkson: KK72
    Andy Truong: AQ103

Truong hit both the ace & queen on the flop and faded the king to double to more than 300k.

  • Lane Doubles

    Level:21 (15000/25000/25000 NLH)

Lane flopped a flush draw, the Payne turned a set, before Lane rivered it on a board of 41089Q.

    Debi Loomer

Debi Loomer got her short stack in with pocket jacks, kicked by an ace, and she was in good shape against Ning Wang with the other two jacks kicked by a king. Wang was running hot, however, and after the board was complete, he had trip kings for the win, and Loomer was out in 10th place. I’m still not watching this one very closely, but I’ll move over for the endgame here once Event #1 finishes in the Sundance room.

  • Half & Half for Second Half of Day 1
