Stephen Scuderi Defeats Cindy Kerslake in Black Chip Bounty

Stephen Scuderi, winner of Event #3
Cindy Kerslake It took nearly 14 hours to play through the 345 entries in the Black Chip Bounty tonight, and in the end, poker newcomer Stephen Scuderi took down the top prize tonight. Scuderi’s first recorded cash was in 2024, when he won a High Roller ring in the first-ever WSOP-C Toronto.
Since then, he’s booked a total of 10 cashes before this one, which counts for his second win and second right. Scuderi was the big stack through much of the endgame, but runner-up Cindy Kerslake was hot on his heels for most of the final table.
They played heads up for nearly an hour before the final hand. Kerslake took the lead when she flopped a king and it held for a 1.5 million chip pot. But that was as close to the ring as she got. Shortly after, they got into a huge hand where Kerslake turned the straight, but she let Scuderi get there on the river with a flush.
After a 250k raise preflop from Scuderi, they checked through the board until the river where Kerslake fired 325k, then called when Scuderi raised to 2 million. She mucked her hand, saying she had a straight, while Scuderi showed ten-seven of spades for the flush and a huge lead.
It didn’t take long to finish after that. The money went in on a flop where Kerslake hit top-top, but Scuderi found a set of ducks. Kerslake turned trip tens for outs to the boat, but then bricked the river.
This will be Scuderi’s 3rd-best cash, after the High Roller ring, and a runner-up finish in a PLO event at WSOP-C Toronto this year.

This is a one-day game, so it should finish out without bags, but just as a reminder, the casino staff does reserve the right to force a second day if necessary.

Jordan Banfield wins 2025 WSOP Circuit Calgary Event #3 In January, local WPT Global streamer Jordan Banfield took down this game for his first Circuit ring. He had to get through 363 entries with combined prizes of close to $120k.
This should be my main focus once I get to the floor, but it’s possible I won’t make it there until after late registration is closed for this one, as opening day was a long one, with Event #2 finishing just before 6 AM.

Level: 24 (25000/50000/50000) Entries: 5/345 Prizes: $113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes) Cindy Kerslake raised to 100k under the gun, and Minghuan Wu called from the big blind. He shoved for 175k on the 10♥9♥3♠ flop, and Kerslake tank called with more to put him at risk.
She was ahead with A♠8♣, but Wu was drawing big to hearts with K♥4♥. He bricked the hearts on the Q♣4♣ runout, but spiked his four on the river to stay alive with a double.

More than $110k in Prizes
Level: 9 (1000/1500/1500) Entries: 135/335 Prizes: $110,550 Combined ($33,500 Bounties, $77,050 Prizes) It’s another big one here today for the Black Chip Bounty. There are about 5 minutes to play in Level 9, and the field is closing in on 350 entries already. That puts the combined prizes today at $110,550, with $77k of that in the prize pool for later in the evening, and the rest in the bounties.
Late entry ends after the break following this level, so it’s unclear if the field will hit 350 or not before it closes.

Black Chip Bounty is the Main Game on Thursday

WSOP-C Oct 2025 Infocard
Event #3: $400 NLH Black Chip Bounty ($230 + $100 + $70)
Date: Oct 2, 11 AM Blinds: 25 Minutes Starting Stack: 20k Late Entry: 9 Levels (~3:15 PM) Dinner Break: After Level 14 (~6:05 PM) The opening event for Day 2 of WSOP-C Calgary October 2025 is the Black Chip Bounty. For $400, $230 goes into the prizes, with a flat $100 bounty on everyone’s head.
The action kicks off at 11 am, and entries are open until the start of Level 10, which should be at around 3:!5 PM. The 45-minute dinner break comes after Level 14 at about 5:35 PM.
