  • Stephen Scuderi Defeats Cindy Kerslake in Black Chip Bounty

It took nearly 14 hours to play through the 345 entries in the Black Chip Bounty tonight, and in the end, poker newcomer Stephen Scuderi took down the top prize tonight. Scuderi’s first recorded cash was in 2024, when he won a High Roller ring in the first-ever WSOP-C Toronto.

Since then, he’s booked a total of 10 cashes before this one, which counts for his second win and second right. Scuderi was the big stack through much of the endgame, but runner-up Cindy Kerslake was hot on his heels for most of the final table.

They played heads up for nearly an hour before the final hand. Kerslake took the lead when she flopped a king and it held for a 1.5 million chip pot. But that was as close to the ring as she got. Shortly after, they got into a huge hand where Kerslake turned the straight, but she let Scuderi get there on the river with a flush.

After a 250k raise preflop from Scuderi, they checked through the board until the river where Kerslake fired 325k, then called when Scuderi raised to 2 million. She mucked her hand, saying she had a straight, while Scuderi showed ten-seven of spades for the flush and a huge lead.

It didn’t take long to finish after that. The money went in on a flop where Kerslake hit top-top, but Scuderi found a set of ducks. Kerslake turned trip tens for outs to the boat, but then bricked the river.

This will be Scuderi’s 3rd-best cash, after the High Roller ring, and a runner-up finish in a PLO event at WSOP-C Toronto this year.

  • Scuderi Back to the Lead

    Level:27 (50000/100000/100000)
    Entries:2/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)

Stephen Scuderi is up to 6 million, with Cindy Kerslake on about 1 million after a big hand. Scuderi raised to 250k preflop, and Kerslake called.

They checked through the 109KQ3 to the river, where Kerslake fired 325k. Scuderi raised to 2 million, and Kerslake put in the call. Scuderi has 107 for the running flush, while Kerslake said she had the straight as she mucked her hand.

  • Kerslake to the Lead

    Level:26 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:2/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)

Stephen Scuderi raised to 200k, and Cindy Kerslake called to the QKJ flop. Kerslake check-called for 150k to see 6, and she check-called again for 375k.

Both players checked the river 10 river, and Kerslake showed K7 for the win. She now has 4.2 million to about 2.5 million for Scuderi.

  • Nearly Equal Stacks Heads Up

    Level:26 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:2/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)

They are now heads up with nearly dead-even stacks. Stephen Scuderi is a couple of hundred thousand in front with 3.45 million to about 3.2 million for Cindy Kerslake.

  • Minghuan Wu Out in 3rd Place for $7,798

    Level:26 (40000/80000/80000)
    Entries:2/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)
    Minghuan Wu

They are heads up now after Cindy Kerslake sent Minghuan Wu to the rail in 3rd place tonight. She was in with eight-seven of spades against ace-seven, and both players flopped a seven, with Kerslake on the flush draw as well. She binked her flush and two pair by the river, and the game is now heads up.

  • Michael Letal Out in 4th Place for $5,406

    Level:25 (30000/30000/60000)
    Entries:3/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)
    Michael Letal

It was another race against Cindy Kerslake that sent Michael Letal to the rail. Immediately after he doubled with his jacks, they got it on again with Kerslake on eights and Letal on ace-king. Once again, the pair held, but this time Letal was off to the cage for 4th place while Kerslake stacked up the chip lead.

  • Letal Doubles through Kerslake

    Level:25 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:4/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)

Cindy Kerslake opened under the gun to 125k, and Michael Letal shoved for 485k from the small blind. Kerslake called for a race between her KQ and pocket jacks for Letal.

The jacks held on a board of A2745 and Letal doubled.

  • Braydon Brown Out in 5th Place for $3,836

    Level:25 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:4/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)
    Brayden Brown

Cindy Kerslake raised under the gun to 125k, and Braydon Brown called next to act. Kerslake led for 100k on the 4K5 flop, and again for 225k on the 9 turn.

When the river came A she sized it up to 500k, enough to put Brown at risk with a call. He hit the tank for several minutes before tossing in the one-chip call, but mucked his hand when Kerslake showed KQ for top pair and the nut flush blocker.

  • Scuderi Leads on the Break

    Level:25 (30000/60000/60000)
    Entries:5/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)

Stephen Scudri has almost 3 million chips for the chip lead on the break following Level 24. Cindy Kerslake is second with 1.76 million. They’ll be back in action for Level 25 in about 5 minutes.

Cindy Kerslake raised to 100k under the gun, and Minghuan Wu called from the big blind. He shoved for 175k on the 1093 flop, and Kerslake tank called with more to put him at risk.

She was ahead with A8, but Wu was drawing big to hearts with K4. He bricked the hearts on the Q4 runout, but spiked his four on the river to stay alive with a double.

    Entries:53/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)

    Entries:54/345
    Prizes:$113,850 Combined ($34,500 Bounties, $79,350 Prizes)

The soft bubble action will kick off in about 20 minutes when dinner ends.

Those numbers should be confirmed shortly when the prizes are posted, but it should mean 52 players sharing in the prizes later tonight, and they’ll play down to a winner tonight.

  • More than $110k in Prizes

    Level:9 (1000/1500/1500)
    Entries:135/335
    Prizes:$110,550 Combined ($33,500 Bounties, $77,050 Prizes)

It’s another big one here today for the Black Chip Bounty. There are about 5 minutes to play in Level 9, and the field is closing in on 350 entries already. That puts the combined prizes today at $110,550, with $77k of that in the prize pool for later in the evening, and the rest in the bounties.

Late entry ends after the break following this level, so it’s unclear if the field will hit 350 or not before it closes.

    Dinner Break:After Level 14 (~6:05 PM)

The opening event for Day 2 of WSOP-C Calgary October 2025 is the Black Chip Bounty. For $400, $230 goes into the prizes, with a flat $100 bounty on everyone’s head.

The action kicks off at 11 am, and entries are open until the start of Level 10, which should be at around 3:!5 PM. The 45-minute dinner break comes after Level 14 at about 5:35 PM. This is a one-day game, so it should finish out without bags, but just as a reminder, the casino staff does reserve the right to force a second day if necessary.

Jordan Banfield wins 2025 WSOP Circuit Calgary Event #3

In January, local WPT Global streamer Jordan Banfield took down this game for his first Circuit ring. He had to get through 363 entries with combined prizes of close to $120k.

This should be my main focus once I get to the floor, but it’s possible I won’t make it there until after late registration is closed for this one, as opening day was a long one, with Event #2 finishing just before 6 AM.

Both players checked the river 10 river, and Kerslake showed K7 for the win. She now has 4.2 million to about 2.5 million for Scuderi.

    Michael Letal

It was another race against Cindy Kerslake that sent Michael Letal to the rail. Immediately after he doubled with his jacks, they got it on again with Kerslake on eights and Letal on ace-king. Once again, the pair held, but this time Letal was off to the cage for 4th place while Kerslake stacked up the chip lead.

Cindy Kerslake opened under the gun to 125k, and Michael Letal shoved for 485k from the small blind. Kerslake called for a race between her KQ and pocket jacks for Letal.

The jacks held on a board of A2745 and Letal doubled.

She was ahead with A8, but Wu was drawing big to hearts with K4. He bricked the hearts on the Q4 runout, but spiked his four on the river to stay alive with a double.

    Late Entry:9 Levels (~3:15 PM)
