Quinn Kannekens Wins Mystery Bounty for $26,234

Cristian Moldovan They had to move to the poker room because of the late hour, but once they did, it finished pretty quickly. They played six-handed for an hour and a hald, with stacks dipping to as low as 12 bigs average at one point.
The dam finally burst with the elimination of Kevin Huang in 5th place, and that opened the floodgates a bit. Griffin Ristevski followed about 10 minutes later, and Guneet Singh was right behind him in 4th place.
That left the final three fairly even, and they battled for a bit before Craig Caldwell got it in for essentially a flip with his ace-five up against the king-seven for Quin Kannekens. Kannekens flopped his king, and Caldwell was out in 3rd.
Caldwell hit the rail just before 6 AM, so they had to pack up the chips and move the players to the Poker Room to finish the game. Once they got going again, it only took a few hands for the final confrontation. Cristian Moldovan was a short stack through much of the final table, and Kannekens had a big chip advantage to start heads up.
In the final hand, Kannekens had to get there with a three-outer. The money went in with Moldovan on ace-seven against king-seven for Kannekens. He hit his king on the flop again in a near carbon-copy of his hand against Caldwell.

The final prize pool came in at $203,425, with $79k of that in the bounty pool. Bounties kick in when they hit the money with 60 left, and one of the two big bounties will remain out of play until the field hits 18 players later tonight.

Level: 9 (1000/1500/1500) Entries: 175/349 Prizes: $179,735 ($109,935 Prizes, $69,800 Bounties) There is still an hour left to enter the Mystery Bounty game, playing out in the Chrome room. With the action in Level 9, the field is just shy of 350 entries, for prizes of $179,735 ($109,935 Prizes, $69,800 Bounties).
-
More than $90k in Combined Prizes
Level: 2 (200/300/300) Entries: 152/176 Prizes: $90,640 ($55,440 Prizes, $35,200 Bounties) The Mystery Bounty is underway in the Chrome Room today, and with action in Level 2, the prizes are already over $90k with 176 entries on the board. That means there’s more than $55k in the prize pool, with $35,200 in the bounty pool.
Entries are still open for almost 4 hours, so expect this field to likely double before the desk closes. Also expect this to be a pretty late game — I likely won’t be watching it very closely until after the Mini Main bags up at around 11:30 tonight, at the latest, but I should finish my night out on this one.

Mystery Bounty is Side Game on Saturday

Event #5: $600 Mystery Bounty NLH ($315 + $200 + $85)
Date: Oct 4, 4 PM Blinds: 25 Minutes Starting Stack: 25k Late Entry: 10 Levels (~8:50 PM) Day 1 Ends: One-Day Event The side game on Saturday evening is the Mystery Bounty, with $200 of the $600 buy-in going to the mystery bounty pool. Bounties start with players in the money, and one big bounty will stay out of the bin until the field hits 18 players.
The action kicks off at 4 PM with just shy of 5 hours of late entry. The entry desk will shut down at the start of Level 11, which should be at about 8:50 PM. After that, they’ll play to a winner.

In January, it was Adrian Selero who won this one. He took it down over a field of 459 entries for a prize pool of $236,385 ($144,585 prizes, $91,800 bounties).
I expect the final flight to the Mini Main Event to be a big one, and as a result, the opening numbers for this game might look low; however, I expect the pace of entries to pick up significantly in this one once the reg-desk for E3 closes for good at about 6:15 PM. This game will be my secondary focus until Day 1d of the Mini Main bags.

More than $200k for Mystery
Level: 11 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 152/395 Prizes: $203,425 ($124,425 Prizes, $79,000 Bounties) Entries are now closed for the Mystery Bounty game, and the final field ended up at 395. That is still a tentative number, but if it holds, it should mean 60 places paid tonight.
The final prize pool came in at $203,425, with $79k of that in the bounty pool. Bounties kick in when they hit the money with 60 left, and one of the two big bounties will remain out of play until the field hits 18 players later tonight.

Up to 380 Entries
Level: 10 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 147/380 Prizes: $195,700 ($119,700 Prizes, $76,000 Bounties) There are about 20 minutes until entries close for the Mystery Bounty, with the field at 380 entries. That puts the combined prizes at $195,700, with $76k of that in the bounty pool
-
350 Entries in Mystery
