Greg Liow Dominates the $340 Last Chance to Take Home His First PPT Trophy

Greg “Goes All in” Liow is no stranger to the spotlight, quickly making a name for himself through his clever youtube skits, and entertaining vlogs. However, this hasn’t stopped his thirst to take down tournaments. He joined the fray of Event #17 $340 Last Chance NLH, as 146 players joined the field for their last chance at a trophy for the opening series. This combined for a $41,610 with the lion share of $11,030 for the eventual winner.
Early into the day, Liow got into a big pot with runner-up Deven Lane. Another player moved all in, and both of them called. Lane had Ace-Jack, while Liow had Ace-Queen. Their opponent had pocket kings, and flopped top set. However, Lane went running broadway cards to make the nut straight. Lane sat at 81,000 with Liow having 55,000. From there, Liow grinded his way into the money, as the field dwindled to a final table.

Deven Lane A turning point of the tournament came, when he opened pocket eights six-handed. Matthew Ouellette moved all in for 700,000, and warned Liow that he “had a real hand.” Liow still found the call and found himself an underdog against pocket queens. he couldn’t connect on the flop or turn, but a miracle eight appeared on the river to give Liow the overwhelming chip lead.
Soon, Lane and Liow were heads-up, with Liow looking for revenge from their earlier clash. Liow looked down at Q♣10♥, and opened to 150,000 (blinds of 30,000/60,000/60,000). Lane defended his big blind. The flop came 10♠4♥3♣, and Liow continued for 90,000. Lane raised to 250,000, and Liow flicked in the call. After the turn came the A♠, Devin checked to Liow. He made it 350,000, and Lane shoved for 1,200,000. Liow called and was up against Lane’s K♠5♠. The river bricked out to give Liow his first PPT trophy.
