2026 Summer Super Stack – Event #11: $1,000 NLH 6Max

It was a weirdly paced 6-Max game tonight. After spending more than 2.5 hours on the bubble, the entirety of the money play took about the same time.

Once they hit the money, it was down to 4 ways almost immediately. Once they got to the final four, it really could have been anyone’s game, with Shane Brotherwood (4th) and Denaiel Lefebvre (3rd) joining Mike Malm and Ronnie Dattani in the final phase.

Dattani was leading through most of the endgame, and he had a monster lead against Malm when they got heads up. It was the first time the two had been at the same table together, and watching them battle heads-up was a treat. Both players showed moves throughout the heads-up – Malm check-raised Dattani for the win on a very wheely flop that was ace-high. Immediately after, Dattani “bought” a pot with a massive overbet on the river of more than 2x the pot.

Dattani’s chip lead was massive, however, and despite doubling up once, Malm needed at least another two to catch up. It all ended at the end of Level 23 when Dattani flopped top-top, and Malm flopped a straight flush draw. Malm’s flush bricked, and Dattani took it all down.

Mike Malm shoved the button, and Ronnie Dattani snapped it off. Dattani was ahead with ace-queen of clubs into ace-three of diamonds for Malm, who only looked at the ace before shoving 345k.

Malm flopped faint flush outs on he J♦2♠10♠ then ran out to the diamonds with [pcn4d7d[/pcn]. Malm got the double, but Dattani is still miles ahead.

It’s quite an interesting heads-up match right now. Ronnie Dattani has the lead by about 3:1 over Mike Malm, and both players just confirmed they’ve never played together before today’s game.

Both players have been showing their moves as play heads towards Level 23. A couple of hands ago, after Dattani raised and Malm called pre-flop, Malm check-raised from 55k to 300k on the 2♥A♣3♣ flop to take it down.

The next hand, Dattani decided to buy a pot on the river. Both players limped in preflop, and then checked it down to the river on J♣J♦5♦6♦4♠. Dattani fired 280k into a pot of 125k, and Malm tanked for about 2 minutes before mucking his hand.

Level 23 has just begun.

I missed the action while in the washroom, but Shane Brotherwood ended his day in 3rd place.

Daniel Lefebvre shoved about 350k from the small blind, and Mike Malm called with more from the big. Lefebvre had king-three of clubs against ace-ten of hearts for Malm.

The flop had an ace & a king, with two hearts and a club. Lefe turned the club draw, but Malm rivered the hearts to send Lefe out on 4th.

Daniel Lefebvre raised the button to 40k, and Ronnie Dattani called from the big blind. They both checked the 6♠Q♣10♥ flop, but Dattani led for45k on the 3♥ turn.

They both checked the 6♥ river when the hearts came in, and Dattani announced “Ten.” Lefe turned over K♥10♣, and Dattani mucked his hand.

After a nearly interminable bubble, they went from 10 to 4 in less than an hour. After Ronnie Dattani opened the cutoff to 45k, Glenn Tarasoff shoved the small blind.

Daniel Lefebvre called from the big blind, and Dattani got out of the way. Lefe had A♥J♥ for the race against sixes for Tarasoff.

Lefe flopped a gutshot to Broadway and nailed it on the turn to send Tarasoff out in 5th place.

Todd had the shortest stack coming back from the break, but he managed to ladder up one spot when Aidan Klingbeil was coolered out first with the second shortest stack. He jammed the rest with queen-ten, and Shane Brotherwood called it with king-queen. The king held, and the field is down to 5.

Immediately after the break, Aidan Klingbeil woke up with sixes and jammed the second shortest stack. Daniel Lefebvre found king-jack in the big blind and called off. Lefe hit his jack and sent Klingbeil out for 7th place.

Aidan Klingbeil shoved 57k from the sall blind, and Daniel Lefebvre called from the big. Klingbeil had queen-six against five-three for Lefe.

Lefe flopped a gutshot while Klingbeil hit his six, and the six held on the full runout of 6♦2♦7♣9♠10♠. Immediately after that, Weston Pring busted from the table in action I missed while writing this hand.

They are now setting the final table.

The interminable bubble has finally terminated, with Colten Yamagishi out on the bubble. He shoved a couple big blinds from the small blind, and Mike Malm called him blind.

Malm was on the dirty diaper (trey-deuce off) against ace-five for Yamagishi. They both hit the flop, with Yamagishi finding a five and Malm finding a three. Malm tripped up when the three paired on the turn, and the river bricked for Yamagishi.

Immediately afterwards, Peter Darlington hit the rail from the other table for 10th place. Ken Tarabula followed him out shortly after for 9th place, and after about 2.5 hours on the bubble, they lost two players in less than 5 minutes in the money. The field is now on the bubble to the final table, with about 15 minutes remaining until the next break at the end of this level.

Mike Malm raised to 25k from the button, then called off when Todd “The Rock” shoved 110k from the big blind. Todd had ace-king over queen-jack for Malm. The board ran low to miss both hands, and The Rock’s ace held for the double.

The bubble has now lasted two full levels, with nearly a full two hours of real time.

Immediately after Glenn Tarasoff doubled with aces against Mike Malm, Shane Brotherwood woke up with aces on the other table at the same time as Weston Pring woke up with queens. Brotherwood’s aces held, and the bubble goes on.

Mike Malm raised his button to 40k, then hit the tank when Glenn Tarasoff shoved a short stack from the small blind. He eventually called it off with pocket sixes, but Tarasoff was on the rockets. Malm flopped backdoor straight outs, but the turn paired and Tarasoff hit his ace on the river to sail to a double on his riverboat.

Peter Darlington was all-in with ace-queen from the small blind, with Shane Brotherwood looking to send him to the rail with ace-jack. Brotherwood had the ace of diamonds, and when the turn brought three diamonds to the board, Darlington had to sweat the river, but was ultimately good on a runout of 10♦5♦10♠6♦4♠.

They played all of Level 17 on the bubble, and Level 18 is now four hands in.

Ronnie Dattani limped in from the button, and Mike Malm checked his option in the big blind. Malm check-called for 14k on the 7♦3♣4♠ flop, then led out for 20k on the 5♥ turn.

Malm went back to checking on the 6♠ river, then tanked for several minutes before folding to Dattani’s 60k bet.

In the next hand, Todd “The Rock” doubled the short stack when his aces held against flopped top pair.

Shan Brotherwood raised the cutoff to 20k, and Daniel Lefebvre defended his big blind with a call. Lefe check-called for 20k on the Q♥5♠7♣ flop, and again for 50k on the 3♦ turn.

Lefe checked again on the [invalid notations]Kh[/pcn[ river, then mucked when Brotherwood fired 80k.

Mike Malm and Daniel Lefebvre are the only players with more than half a million in play. Malm is the outright leader with about 50k more than Lefe. Shane Brotherwood is in 3rd with 371k.

Below is a look at how the final 11 players are seated on the money bubble. I’ll grab a full list of stacks at the break, coming shortly.

The 6-Max field is down to 15 remaining, with less than 5 minutes remaining in Level 14. That puts them 5 off the money, and it looks like they may hit the bubble before the next break, which comes at the end of Level 16.

Tuesday is the day for 6-Max poker. The action gets underway at 2 PM, and as the name implies, tables will be six-handed throughout the game (7-handed final table).

Players get 30k to start, and levels are 30 minutes long. Late registration is open for 12 levels. Including the breaks, that should mean the desk closes at about 8:45 PM. After that, they’ll play down to a winner.

In the Spring series, Stephen Dauphinais took down this game over Colten Yamagishi heads up, after getting through 91 entries ($77,805 in prizes). Last Summer, Jerry Li battled Eric Wasylyenko as the final two in a 117-entry field ($100,035 in prizes).

Both of those games went well past 3 AM, and this year’s game is expected to do the same.
