Full coverage of the 2026 Summer Super Stack from Deerfoot Inn & Casino will be provided on poker.pro, with live updates and reporting by Lyle Bateman.
Julius Roque started heads up behind Ryan Callahan, but then ran pure to double up a couple of times to take it down. In the final hand, Roque limp-called all in, then hit a 3 with seven-three against queen-eight to take it down.
Julius Roque just doubled through Matt Gudmundson. I missed most of the action, but Roque was on ace-king and turned a king. Gudmundson’s hand was already mucked when I arrived at the table. Roque had 625k, so it up to well over a million now, with Gudmundson on the short stack.
Peter Darlington shoved his button, and Ryan Callahan called from the small blind. Darlington was connected with 8♠7♥, and in a not-so-classic race against ace-four of clubs for Callahan.
Callahan turned the wheel, but the turn also gave Darlington bigger straight outs. The river was a brick on 2♥6♣3♣5♦J♥, and Callahan wheeled Darlington out for 4th.
Julius Roque raised to 32k from the cutoff, and Peter Darlington called from the big blind. They both checked through the A♥K♣10♠4♠Q♣ flop. Darlington showed a ten, but Roque tabled K♦7♦ for second pair on the flop and took the pot.
There’s a break coming shortly, and I’ll grab chip counts for the remaining players then.
Julius Roque limped in from the button, and Matt Gudmundson checked his option in the big blind. Both players checked the J♦4♣6♠ flop, but when Gudmundson bet 20k on the K♦ turn, Roque reraised to 60k.
Gudmundson called to the 10♥ river, then check-called after Roque fired 100k. Roque showed queen-nine for the river gutshot. That hand puts Roque up to about 650k, with Ryan Callahan leading with 1.4 million.

The 1Day is now two off the money, with 15 players remaining. The clock will be paused after the next elimination for the bubble play, and they’ll resume normal play once they are down to 13 remaining.

The 1Day game is down to 31 entries, which puts them 18 eliminations away from the 13 paid spots tonight. Level 15 is nearly complete, and they’ll be playing at 3k/6k/6k in just a couple of minutes.
Mike Malm raised to 160k early, and it folded to Chris Ruddell in the big blind. He asked to see Malm’s stack, then called to the K♥10♠Q♦ flop.
Ruddell led out for 200k, but Malm jammed 600k all-in. Ruddell spent a couple of minutes in the tank before ultimately folding. Simon Evans noted that Malm’s been getting folds to that move a lot tonight, and Malm muttered, “It was a good fold,” as he gathered up the chips.
Entries have just closed for the 1Day Deepstack, with the final number at 133. That’s still unofficial, pending the prize pool, but if it holds, 13 player should be getting a piece of $37,905 in prizes later tonight, with the top prize likely around $8k.

The prizes are nearly $12k, with 42 players in their seats. Play is still in Level 1, with about 5 minutes to play, so this is looking like a very solid field, as I expect most players who bust from Day 2 of the multi-day deepstack to jump into this one.

The first side game on Sunday is the 1Day Deepstack. A turbo version of Event #3, the 1Day has 25-minute blinds, instead of 30, but the 25k starting stack is the same.
Entries are open for 10 levels, putting the last chance to enter at about 6:40 PM. There are no bags in this game, so they’ll play to a winner.
