  • Claire Leclerc Wins First Ring in Black Chip Bounty

    Level:29 (75000/150000/150000)
    Entries:1/290
    Prizes:$141,883 Total ($112,883 Prizes, $29,000 Bounties)
    Local Time:1:25 AM

Claire Leclerc just picked up her first Circuit ring at the end of the Black Chip Bounty tonight. The Manitoba player was joined at the final table by her husband, Leo Leclerc, who ended his run in 8th, then moved to the rail to cheer on his wife. She also had fellow Manitoban and ring winner Dylan Ellis on the rail tonight.

She was short through much of the final table, and got to heads up against double ring winner Graham Lupton with about a 3:1 deficit. Lupton held the lead for most of HU, but the script flipped when Leclerc slow-played aces, flopped a boat with trip threes on the flop, then extracted 1.1million of value on the river to leave Lupton short.

A few hands later, he shoved his button, but Leclerc woke up with an ace and called it off. Lupton was suited and paired on the flop, but Leclerc also hit her ace for the bigger pair. Nothing else changed after the flop, and Leclerc took down the game. She had just under $100k in lifetime earnings on Hendon Mob prior to this game, so the result tonight should push her to $115/$120k depending on the exchange rate at the time.

  • Graham Lupton Out in 2nd Place for $17,310

    Level:29 (75000/150000/150000)
    Entries:1/290
    Prizes:$141,883 Total ($112,883 Prizes, $29,000 Bounties)
    Local Time:1:20 AM
    Graham Lupton

Graham Lupton got to heads up with a big lead, but he ran into aces for Claire Leclerc in a big pot near the end to double her up to the lead. After that, he was on his back foot, and eventually shoved his big blind for 915k.

Leclerc called, and was ahead with A5 against 83. They both hit the flop on a board of A86410 but Leclerc hit it hardest, and held for the win. Lupton was looking for his third ring tonight.

  • Leclerc to the Lead

    Level:28 (60000/120000/120000)
    Entries:2/290
    Prizes:$141,883 Total ($112,883 Prizes, $29,000 Bounties)
    Local Time:1:00 AM

I missed the preflop action, but when the flop came trip threes, both players checked. When the turn came a deuce, Claire Leclerc check-called for 600k.

On the river 9, she led out for 1.1 million, and after a bit of a tank, Graham Lupton called. Leclerc showed aces for the flopped boat, and Lupton mucked his hand. The hadn gave Leclerc about a 2:1 lead now.

  • Leclerc Doubles

    Level:28 (60000/120000/120000)
    Entries:2/290
    Prizes:$141,883 Total ($112,883 Prizes, $29,000 Bounties)
    Local Time:12:55 AM

Claire Leclerc limped, then called when Graham Lupton raised to 420k. The flop was J28 and Lupton bet 1.1 million, nearly enough to put her all in.

She shoved over top, and Lupton called with AQ against ]pcn]9h8s[/pcn]. Leclerc was on a pair of eights, but Lupton had the better backdoor flush draw. The rest of the board bricked and Leclerc’s eight held up for a double to around 3 million, but Lupton still leads.

  • Mehrad Khalajzadeh Out in 3rd Place for $11,969

    Level:28 (60000/120000/120000)
    Entries:2/290
    Prizes:$141,883 Total ($112,883 Prizes, $29,000 Bounties)
    Local Time:12:45 AM
    Mehrad Khalajzadeh

Graham Lupton limped the small and Mehrad Khalajzadeh shoved the big. Lupton was slow playing aces and snapped it off for aces over fours. He hit an ace on the flop, and while Khalajzadeh flopped a wheel draw, the needed 3 didn’t come and he was out in 3rd place.

Lupton is now heads up with a big lead against Claire Leclerc.

  • Evan Thomas & Anthony Blaise Out

    Leo Leclerc

Leo Leclerc shoved the small blind, and Mehrad Khalajzadeh called with more from the big. Leclerc was dominated with ace-ten into ace-queen, and the ace-queen held for the win.

  • Glen Moller-Nielsen Out in 9th Place for $2,071

    Level:25 (30000/60000/60000)

Evan Thomas shoved from the big blind over a raise from Martin Stapely. Stapely called with nines against kings for Thomas.

It looked like Thomas might be out when Stapely turned a set of nines, but Thomas rivered the king for a bigger set and the win. Meanwhile, on the other table, Joseph Cosco shoved 380k early, and got it through.

  • Black Chip Bounty is Main Game for Thursday

    Date:Jan 8, 11 AM
    Blinds:25 Minutes
    Starting Stack:25k
    Late Entry:9 Levels (~3:15 PM)
    Day 1 Ends:One-Day Event

The main game on Day 2 of the 2026 Jan WSOP-C Calgary is the Black Chip bounty, with action kicking off at 11 AM. Players sit down with 25k in chips to play 25-minute levels, and entries are open until the start of Level 10.

That should put the last chance to buy in at about 3:15 PM. After that, they’ll play down to a winner, likely well after midnight.

Stephen Scuderi, winner of Event #3

Last October, it was Stephen Scuderi who took down this ring. He defeated Cindy Kerslake heads up after they made it through 345 entries. Scuderi’s top score was $17,383 for his second career ring, and that was the best share of $79,350 (there were an additional $34,500 in bounties in the pool for a combined total of $113,850).

    Local Time:1:20 AM
    Graham Lupton

Graham Lupton got to heads up with a big lead, but he ran into aces for Claire Leclerc in a big pot near the end to double her up to the lead. After that, he was on his back foot, and eventually shoved his big blind for 915k.

Leclerc called, and was ahead with A5 against 83. They both hit the flop on a board of A86410 but Leclerc hit it hardest, and held for the win. Lupton was looking for his third ring tonight.

  • Leclerc to the Lead

    Prizes:$141,883 Total ($112,883 Prizes, $29,000 Bounties)
    Local Time:1:00 AM

I missed the preflop action, but when the flop came trip threes, both players checked. When the turn came a deuce, Claire Leclerc check-called for 600k.

On the river 9, she led out for 1.1 million, and after a bit of a tank, Graham Lupton called. Leclerc showed aces for the flopped boat, and Lupton mucked his hand. The hadn gave Leclerc about a 2:1 lead now.

  • Leclerc Doubles

    Mehrad Khalajzadeh

Graham Lupton limped the small and Mehrad Khalajzadeh shoved the big. Lupton was slow playing aces and snapped it off for aces over fours. He hit an ace on the flop, and while Khalajzadeh flopped a wheel draw, the needed 3 didn’t come and he was out in 3rd place.

Lupton is now heads up with a big lead against Claire Leclerc.
