Benny Glaser takes down the 2025 World Series of Poker Event #8: $1,500 Dealers Choice for $150,246 at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas and adds his sixth WSOP bracelet to his collection. Glaser managed to beat the field of 597 entries, finishing the deal with the hard-earned heads-up win over Matthew Schreiber, who won $100,137 for his second-place finish.
Schreiber was a tough nut to crack as he survived multiple all-ins, which caused Glaser’s burst of emotions after he finally closed the deal.
“He was down to 45K three-handed at big blind 120,000 and then won six or seven all-ins in a row. And then, heads-up he was down to 125,000 and then survived like five all-ins in a row. I was getting concerned again. So just that relief after the real battle and, honestly, just joy. I’m very happy to win a bracelet this summer,” said Glaser to PokerNews.
Benny Glaser is widely regarded as one of the best mixed-game players in the world, and all six of his WSOP bracelets have come in mixed-game formats. From his first win in 2015 in the $1,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball to his latest victory in the 2025 $1,500 Dealer’s Choice, Glaser has made a habit of conquering the most technically demanding formats in poker. Despite being a mixed-game specialist, his most significant win came from the $10,400 No Limit Hold’em—WPT World Championship event, where he came second for $2,830,000.
Away from the live scene, Glaser has one of the strongest PokerStars COOP records of any player. He has 11 SCOOP titles and has also won a record 15 WCOOP titles.
The 2025 World Series of Poker kicked off well for the UK, with one bracelet already secured and two more Brits coming close to glory.

The Final Table
Coming onto the final table, Benny Glaser was the chip leader ahead of Matthew Schreiber and Andrew Park, who were second and third in chips, while Park was sharing third place with Scott Jacewiczokelly, who had the same amount of chips as Park.
The first elimination came in pot-limit hold’em after Timothy Knauf limped from the CO, Scott Jacewiczokelly raised, Knauf shoved, and Jacewiczokelly snap-called, putting Knauf at risk of elimination. It was obvious Knauf ran out of luck when players turned their hands up, and his 8d8h was against A♣A♠ of Jacewiczokelly. The board came J♠3♣2♥2♠5♣ showing no eights and sending Knauf to the rail in seventh place for $16,586.

We got the next elimination just a few minutes later; the game was pot-limit Hold’em. Benny Glaser opened from HJ, and Stephen O’Dwyer called in BTN, and the flop came J♦7♣2♠. Glaser checked; O’Dwyer bet close to half of his remaining stack. Glaser shoved, and O’Dwyer called. Glaser out-flopped O’Dwyer with J♥7♥ against J♠10♠, leaving O’Dwyer hoping to hit one of three remaining tens. The turn was A♠, which gave O’Dwyer some additional outs with the flush draw, but the river was Q♥, which marked the end of the game for O’Dwyer, who was eliminated in sixth place for $22,673.

Next on his way out was Scott Jacewiczokelly, who opened from CO in a No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw; Benny Glaser shoved from SB, and it did not take long for Jacewiczokelly to make the call and put his tournament life on the line. Jacewiczokelly had 6x4x3x2x against Glaser’s Tx9x7x5x3x, and he needed to improve to stay alive. With 13 outs to survive, Jacewiczokelly was unlucky, and he peeled 6h, which was the end of the road for him. Jacewiczokelly finished in fifth place for $31,747.

The game was a No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw, and Benny Glaser opened from CO, Scott Bohlman shoved from SB, and Glaser called. Bohlman took one and Glaser pat behind. Bohlman was at risk with 8x7x3x2x vs Glaser’s Tx7x6x5x3x. Bohlman turned over A♦, and his run was over in fifth place for $45,551.

There was a lot of back-and-forth action before we got our two finalists, and the last elimination before heads-up came in No-Limit Hold’em after Andrew Park shoved from the BTN and Matthew Schreiber called in SB. Park had Q♥10♦ against Schreiber’s 6♠6♦ and was slightly behind as pairs are ahead of two overcards in flips. The flop A♣K♠8♥ gave Park additional outs, but turn 5♠ and the river K♣ were of no help, and Park was out in third place for $66,755.

The Heads-Up
Entering the heads-up battle, Benny Glaser was ahead in chips with 8,600,000 against Matthew Schreiber, who had 6,300,000 chips after eliminating Andrew Park in third place. Both players had enough firepower, and the game was open for anybody to bring the trophy home.
After an hour battling it out, Benny Glaser shoved from the BTN, and Schreiber called to find out he is dominated, holding 9♥8♦ against Glaser’s A♣9♦. The dealer put down 6♦5♠2♦J♥10♠ and ended the hopes of a second WSOP bracelet for Schreiber. Schreiber was eliminated in second place for $100,137 while Glaser was shouting, “F**k yeah. What a battle. It’s finally over.”
