Dennis Weiss won World Series of Poker Event #51: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha to set a new personal score record of $2,292,155 and collect his second WSOP bracelet.
Weiss had to beat the stacked field of 489 entries, which generated a prize pool of $11.4 million at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. Finishing the deal was not easy for Weiss as he had to beat Michael Duek in heads-up on top of other finalists like Phil Ivey, who finished in sixth place.
“The WSOP tournaments in Europe don’t have as many people. But the players in Rozvadov played amazing, and my opponents here played amazing; I’m just a lucky boy, I guess. I haven’t been playing tournaments for very long. It’s kind of ridiculous that I’ve already won two of these. I was a cash game player; that was the plan, but I guess I’m a tournament player.” said Weiss
Wiess previously won the World Seris of Poker Europe event €5,000 Pot Limit Omaha in 2024, winning his first WSOP bracelet and $ 178,538.

The Final Table
Dennis Weiss was entering the final table as the dominant chip leader with 109 big blinds over Phil Ivey, who was in second place with 87 big blinds. The shortest stack was Lautaro Guerra, who had 19 big blinds.
Lautaro Guerra opened from UTG, Duek min-raised from SB, Guerra shoved, and Duek made a quick call. Guerra was at risk of elimination with Q♠Q♣10♠6♣, while Duek had A♣J♣8♠7♠. The board came A♥9♦3♠2♠9♣. This was the end of the road for Guerra, who finished in eighth place for $221,920.

Najeem Ajez opened from HJ, and Weiss just called in BB. The flop was J♦7♠5♣. Weiss led for pot size, and Ajez shoved just to get called. Weiss had him covered and was ahead with A♣K♣9♣8♦ against Ajez’s K♠J♥10♥8♠. The turn came 6♣, giving Weiss the straight, and the river rolled 4♠, which marked the end of the game for Ajez, who was eliminated in seventh place for $293,329.

Phil Ivey opened limped from HJ and got called from BTN and SB, but Duek was not for that kind of fun, so he raised it, and Ivey called. The dealer rolled out Q♥4♥9♣, Duek thew in a big c-bet putting Ivey all-in, and Ivey called. Ivey had K♥K♣4♠4♦ and was favorite to survive with a set of fours, but 10♣ on the turn, and J♥ on the river did him badly as Duek hit the flush and Ivey was out in sixth place for $394,531.

This was the last elimination of Day 3, and the event needed one more day to settle the question of who was going home with the gold and the big cash.
Day 4 didn’t start well for Talal Shakerchi as he was raised and got called by Weiss, who opened limped in SB. The flop rolled 10♠10♣7♠, Weiss checked, Shakerchi bet, and Weiss called. The turn was 6♣; Weiss checked again, Shakerchi shoved, and Weiss asked for a chip count before he called.
Shakerchi had A♣Q♥10♥8♠ and was against Weiss’s Q♦8♣7♣2♣, and the river came J♣, which gave Weiss the flush and eliminated Shakerchi in fifth place for $539,817.

The game continued, and Duek opened from CO with 10♥8♠6♥6♦; Evan Krentzman defended from BB with a call holding A♦Q♥10♦9♠. The flop was A♥6♠2♣; Krentzman checked, Duek bet, and Krentzman called. The turn came 9♦, Krentzman checked again, Duek bet again, and Krentzman called. The 7♥ on the river improved Duek to a set, and after Krentzman checked, Duek announced he was all-in, threatening Krentzman with elimination. After the long tank, Krentzman called and was eliminated in fourth place for $751,149.
Evan Krentzman
Weiss opened from the BTN, Jeffrey Hakim 3-bet, Wiess 4-bet shoved, and Hakim called. Jeffrey Hakim had A♣K♣10♥7♣ and was behind A♥A♦8♠8♦ of Weiss. The board rolled A♠6♣3♥9♥3♠, making Weiss’s hand from good to great and eliminating Hakim in third place for $1,062,669.

The Heads-Up
At the start of the heads-up battle, Dennis Weiss had the chip lead over Duek with a close to 2:1 ratio, and the duel started.
After one hour of play, a big hand happened where Duek limped and called for a raise from Wiess. The flop came KsTc9h, Weiss bet, and Duek called. Weiss asked, “You got it?” and cards turned with Weiss ahead holding A♦K♦6♠5♣ vs Duek’s Q♥10♥4♦3♣. The turn came 4♣, switching the lead to Duek, and the river 9♣ paired the board, giving Weiss two stronger pairs, and Duek was eliminated in second place for $1,528,077.
