After three days of battling it out at World Seris of Poker Event #33: $1,500 Limit Hold’em, which was running at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, Jason Duong made a moment to remember after he won $130,062 and his first WSOP bracelet.
Jason Duong earned his title by beating the field of 491 entries. The last one he had to beat was Adam Tyburski, which he did after two and a half hours of back-and-forth battle. Duong came back to life in the heads-up battle after being left with just two big bets. After that point, he just continued to climb back up until he finished the job in style.
After the win, Duong said that he never doubted his chances of winning and added that after getting back from two big bets, he started to get more comfortable and more confident.

2025 WSOP Event #33: $1,500 Limit Hold’em Final Table Recap
At the start of the final table, Andrew Beversdorf was short-stacked with just 4 big bets, while David Rogers had the most chips with 31 big bets, while other players were in between.
The first elimination came when Ian Johns was all-in and at risk against David Rogers on J♥6♦7♦. Johns had A♠K♣ and was in bad shape against Rogers who had 8♥8♠. The turn was 7♠, and the river was 5♣, sending Johns home in ninth place for $9,242.

Chris Hunichen was next to hit the rail after he 3-bet from SB against Robinson’s CO open, and Robinson called. The flop was K♥3♥6♠. Robinson raised, and Hunichen called; the turn was 10♣; Hunichen checked, Robinson bet to put Hunichen all-in, and Hunichen called.
Hunichen had A♠Q♣ and had to hit one of his seven outs on the river to survive against Robinson’s Q♥10♥. The river was 6♣, and that was it for Hunichen, who was out in eighth place for $11,954.

That was it for day 2 of Event #33: $1,500 Limit Hold’em, and final table action continued on day 3 with seven players in the race for the gold.
David Rogers and Adam Tyburski went into raising war until all the chips were in preflop, and there was just a run-out to decide. Rogers was slightly ahead with 3♣3♠ against Tyburski’s A♦Q♣, but Rogers was at risk of elimination. The board ran 4♣5♠Q♠2♠5♥, and that was the end of the road for Rogers, who ended in seventh place for $15,798.

Bobbi Harrell opened from the SB, and Duong called in BB. The flop rolled J♥6♥Q♦, Bobbi Harrell bet, and Duong called. The turn was Q♥. Harrell continued to bet, but Duong raised her enough to put her all-in, and she called. Duong said he had a queen, basically informing her she was drawing dead. Bobbi Harrell had A♠J♣, and Duong had Q♠10♠, the A♣ on the river was just for the formality, and Bobbi Harrell was out in sixth place for $21,324.

Action continued and Andrew Beversdorf opened from CO and Nicholas Tsoukalas defended his BB. Dealer put down Q♦A♥8♥, Tsoukalas check and Beversdorf c-bet just got raised. Beversdorf 3-bet, Tsoulakas 4-bet, Beversdorf 5-bet and Tsoulakas called.
The turn came 9♠, Tsoulakas bet, leaving himself just one chip of 5,000, Beversdorf shoved and Tsoulakas called. Tsoulakas turned J♥6♥ and was facing elimination since Beversdorf had top two pairs with A♦Q♥. The river was 4♣ and Tsoulakas was out in fifth place for $29,384.
Nicholas Tsoukalas
After eliminating Tsoukalas, Andrew Beversdorf was next in line after Duong opened from CO and Beversdorf raised from SB. Duong raised, and Beversdorf called his all-in as he was short-stacked. Beversdorf had the lead with A♥K♦ against Duong’s Q♠10♣. The board ran Q♦Q♥4♠8♥5♥, and Beversdorf was eliminated in fourth place for $41,318.

Lawrence Robinson opened from SB, and Duong called BB. The flop was K♣6♦7♦, Robinson bet, Duong raised, Robinson 3-bet, Duong 4-bet putting Robinson all-in, and Robinson called. Robinson was ahead with K♥9♦ against Duong’s Q♦6♣, but he had to dodge a lot of cards. The turn was J♦, and the river was 4♦, giving Duong backdoor flush and sending Robinson to the rail in third place for $59,263.

The Heads-Up
Entering the heads-up, both players had similar stack sizes, and the battle for the gold was on. The battle lasted two and half hours before we got to the final hand, where Tyburski raised, Dunog re-raised, and Tyburski called. The flop was 7♣7♥5♥; Duong bet, and Tyburski called with just a few chips behind.
Duong bet again on the 5♦ turn, and Tyburski called for his last chips. Hands turned up, and Tyburski was in desperate need of help as his 10♦9♦ was behind A♥9♥ of Duong. The river came 6♥, and Duong hit the flush. Tyburski was eliminated in second place for $86,673.
