The 2025 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas rolled out one of its fastest (and most brutal?) events with Event #34: $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty. True to its name, the tournament wrapped up in a single marathon 16-hour session, making it one of the quickest paths to WSOP glory. A total of 2,232 players jumped into the action, creating a prize pool of $2,950,567, up from last year’s 2,110 entries, and every elimination awarded an instant $500 bounty.
And it was none other than poker veteran John Racener who conquered the field, defeating Israel’s Liran Betito heads-up to claim his third World Series of Poker bracelet along with $247,595. Betito walked away with a hard-earned $164,964 for his runner-up finish.
I promised my wife this trip would be worth it if I came to @WSOP few weeks after we had our third boy…..wellllll, I’m bringing home my third bracelet for my third boy #Reid#love#fam#babyrungood4real
There’s little in the poker world that Racener hasn’t achieved. Already a two-time WSOP champion, with prior wins in the prestigious $10,000 Dealers Choice in 2017 and $10,000 Limit Hold’em in 2023, Racener now adds a turbo-format title to his résumé. He also holds a WSOP Circuit ring, a WPT title, a PGT win, and famously finished runner-up in the 2010 WSOP Main Event. With this latest victory, his live tournament earnings surpass $13 million.
Seeing such a high-caliber player making waves in a super turbo bounty structure is always impressive, and Racener wasn’t the only bracelet winner at the final table. JC Tran also made a deep run, ultimately finishing fourth for $88,865.
JC Tran
As for Liran Betito, he may not have clinched the gold yet, but he crossed the $1 million mark in live earnings with this result. It marks his fourth WSOP final table, adding to a solid record that includes a fourth-place finish in the 2019 $1,000 Little One for One Drop ($236,151) and a deep run in last year’s WSOP Main Event, where he placed 55th.

2025 WSOP Event #34: $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty Final Table Recap
As expected, the one-day Super Turbo Bounty event turned into an all-day grind. Kicking off at 10 a.m. local time. It pushed the limits on stamina, wrapping up nearly 16 hours later with a flurry of fast-paced final table action.
John Racener wasted no time making his presence known, opening the final table with a double knockout. Angela Shade moved all-in, followed closely by Paul Saso, and Racener looked down at pocket queens, a dream scenario in a Super Turbo. Shade revealed pocket jacks, while Saso turned over A♥10♥. The flop of 7♥6♥5♣ gave Saso outs, and the 10♣ on the turn added even more hope. River brought a red card, but a wrong one in 8♦, sealing the deal for Racener, who sent Shade out in eighth place for $29,231 and Saso in seventh for $37,988.
The eliminations kept coming. Xinwen Zhang opened the action from the button, but it was Liran Betito in the small blind and Gaetano Logrande in the big blind who tangled. Logrande held king-jack, but Betito’s ace-queen stayed ahead on a runout of A♠6♣7♥10♣7♣, sending Logrande to the rail in sixth for $49,899.
Next out was Jeremie Toledano, who jammed under the gun with ace-king and Zhang called him with ace-queen, seeing the bad news. Things looked good for a double-up, until a case queen landed on the river, and ladies eliminating Toledano in fifth for $66,242.
Two-time WSOP bracelet winner JC Tran followed him out. Betito opened the pot and called Tran’s shove with ace-eight, revealing pocket jacks. The board of 4♣Q♦3♣6♥7♦ offered Tran no help, and he exited in fourth place with $88,865.
Betito was on a roll and claimed another victim in Zhang. After she opened the action, Betito three-bet. Zhang responded with a shove, and Betito snap-called, revealing pocket kings. Zhang’s ace-seven couldn’t catch up on the low runout, and she bowed out in third, earning $120,457.

That left Racener and Betito nearly even in chips to begin heads-up play. Betito held a slight edge, but Racener steadily chipped away, winning a few small pots to flip the momentum. Then came the final, massive setup.
Racener opened the pot and Betito called. The flop came J♠K♥6♦, and after Racener bet, Betito called. The 4♦ turn brought another barrel from Racener, and again, Betito check-called. The river, 7♥, looked harmless (spoiler alert, it wasn’t). Betito checked, Racener shoved, and Betito called it off.
Betito tabled jack-seven for two pair, but Racener revealed king-four for a better two pair. With Betito being slightly covered, the tournament was over after a 16-hour grind.
John Racener captured his third WSOP bracelet and $247,595, adding another highlight to an already stellar career. Betito, meanwhile, had to settle for second place and $164,964, still a performance to be proud of.
