Narcis Nedelcu takes down World Series of Poker Event #73: $1,500 Eight Game Mix, getting hands on his first WSOP bracelet and $184,683!
The event attracted 789 entries, which generated a prize pool of $1,047,398, with $184,862 reserved for the champion. Narcis Nedelcu had to beat Scott Abrams as his last obstacle to the title. Scott Abrams won $123,086 for his second-place finish.
Nedelcu had total live earnings of $1,669,634, with his most significant cash of $133,759, which came in 2023 after he came fourth in €1,100 No Limit Hold’em – Eureka Main Event. This was before Nedelcu won this event and now he has new most significant cash ($184,862) and updated total live earnings ($1,854,496).

The Final Table
At the start of the final table, there were huge differences in stack sizes, with Narcis Nedelcu leading the pack with 161 big blinds ahead of second-placed Scott Abrams, who had 82 big blinds. Christian Malick was the shortest stack with seven big blinds.
(2-7 Triple Draw) Mark Liedtke raised from UTG and was called by Christian Malick in the HJ and Walter Treccarichi in the CO. Liedtke took two, Malick took one, and Treccarichi took two. Liedtke checked, Malick bet, Treccarichi raised, Liedtke folded, and Malick called. Malick took one, and Treccarichi was now pat. Malick check-called for his last chips. Malick took one again on the final draw. Malick had 9x6x5x3x and was drawing dead against Treccarichi, who had 9x6x4x3x2x. Malick drew 8x, which didn’t mean much, and he was eliminated in seventh place for $21,457.

(Omaha Hi-Lo) Elaine Rawn went all-in from the BB against Narcis Nedelcu, who opened from CO. Rawn had A♣8♣7♥7♦ and was at risk against Nedelcu who had A♠Q♣10♣2♠ and the board ran J♥9♥6♣10♥K♠ giving straight on the turn to Rawn, but king on the river turned tables and gave higher straight to Nedelcu eliminating Rawn in sixth place for $29,234.
(Omaha Hi-Lo) Mark Liedtke opened from CO, Nedelcu called on BTN, and Cipriano called in BB, which put him all in. The board came 3♣A♥3♠, Liedtke check-called bets from Nedelcu the flop and the turn J♣. The river came Q♥, and Nedelcu bet again, forcing Liedtke to fold. Cipriano showed Jh6h and was eliminated by Nedelcu, who had 9♣5♣4♦3♥ for trips. Cipriano earned $40,653 for his fifth-place finish.
(Stud Hi-Lo) Liedtke completed, Nedelcu raised, and Liedtke called. The rest of Liedtke’s stack went in on fourth. Liedtke was behind with 9♣7♠/7♥8♦A♥/X against Nedelecu’s Q♠Q♥/9♠10♣5♦K♠/5♥
Liedtke was behind with sevens against the queens of Nedelcu, who improved to two pairs on seventh. Liedtke called his last card as he was drawing to just two outs, which he didn’t hit as he turned over the 6♣ and was eliminated in fourth place for $57,675.

(Omaha Hi-Lo) Walter Treccarichi went all-in from BB against Narcis Nedelcu, who opened from SB. Treccarichi had Q♣10♥9♥8♣ against K♠7♦5♣3♣ of Nedelcu, and the dealer rolled 5♥3♦2♦J♦A♠. Nedelcu flopped two pairs, and Treccarichi was drawing dead, just waiting for the river to officially end his run in third place for $83,448.
The Heads-Up
The two most enormous stacks from the beginning of the final table were the two last stacks fighting for the gold. Nedelecu had a 5:1 chip lead over Abrams and was a big favorite to take it down.
(Omaha Hi-Lo) Nedelcu opened from BTN, and Abrams called. The flop came A♣J♣4♥, and Abrams check-called a bet from Nedelcu. The turn was Q♥, Abrams checked, Nedelcu bet, Abrams raised, Nedelcu 3-bet putting Abrams all-in, and Abrams called. Nedelcu had K♠10♣4♣2♦ and was freerolling against Abrams’s K♣J♦10♥5♠ as both players had nut straight, but Nedelcu had a flush draw that he hit with 8♣ on the river. Abrams was eliminated in second place for $123,086.
