The 2025 World Series of Poker is approaching its final stretch, with the event numbers already deep in the 90s. There are just a few days of poker left on the summer calendar and the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas have seen their fair share of champions and heartbreaks.
Event #94, the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed Championship, brought together some of the world’s most elite high roller players. A total of 546 players took their shot in this prestigious event, building a prize pool of $5,077,800 and setting the stage for one of the toughest tournaments of the series.
Since the start of the series back in May, Soverel had been hunting for another bracelet to add to his collection. He had already racked up eight cashes during the 2025 WSOP, and even added two six-figure wins in Aria High Rollers along the way. But for the WSOP gold, he had to wait almost till the end.
He closed the deal in dominating fashion, eliminating all three opponents in just 19 minutes on unscheduled Day 4, capturing his third WSOP bracelet and $986,337 in first-place prize money. Daniel Vicente was his last obstacle (more like a speed bump, to be honest), collecting $649,925 as a runner-up.

2025 WSOP Event #94: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed Championship Final Day Recap
Marathon 12-hour Day 3 wasn’t enough for a conclusion of the Event #94: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed Championship and four players returned for an extra Day 4. Sam Soverel, Daniel Vicente, Isaac Kempton, and Klemens Roiter all bagged chips, but even with stacks, probably no one expected for things to wrap up this quickly, as Soverel needed only 19 minutes to close the lid on this event.
The high-stakes regular entered the final day with 111 big blinds, followed very much not closely by Spain’s Vicente with 29 bigs, Kempton held 19, while Austria’s Roiter had just 5 bigs to work with. Quick math tells us that Soverel had more than double the combined stacks of the trio.
In the very first hand, Roiter looked down at pocket sixes on the button and opened the pot, Soverel made the call on the big blind. The flop came 9♦8♥5♠, and with only a big blind and a half behind, Roiter committed the rest. But Soverel had flopped the nuts with 7♣6♣, and the Austrian found no rescue on the turn or river, exiting in fourth place for $300,521. Roiter had a great summer, capturing his first-ever WSOP bracelet in the $1,500 Monster Stack event and earning nearly $1.7 million in tournament winnings during the series.

Moments later, it was Kempton’s turn to bid farewell. He got his chips in preflop with pocket jacks, a strong hand that could have helped close the gap. However, Soverel had ace-four and found an ace on the flop. Kempton never caught up and had to settle for third place and $437,276.
Heads-up play between Soverel and Vicente started with Spaniard down 5 million to Soverel’s 28 million, which dwindled to just 2 million in a matter of minutes. Soverel finished the speed run when Vicente moved all-in with nine-seven, and he called with jack-ten.
The Q♣K♣5♣ flop not only missed, but also reduced Vicente’s outs. The 4♣ turn brought a glimmer of hope for a chop, but the river was another black four, sealing his fate.
Vicente earned $649,925 for his impressive run, while Soverel collected his third WSOP bracelet and a massive $986,337 payday.
