Jason Duong Battles Back to Win Canada’s Second Bracelet, Li, and Mueller Bag Big

Jason Duong 2025 WSOP Event #33: $1,500 Limit Hold’em Bracelet Winner

It was a banner day for Canadian poker at the 2025 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, highlighted by a breakthrough moment for Jason Duong. After three days of grinding the $1,500 Limit Hold’em event, Duong emerged as the newest Canadian bracelet winner, while a trio of other big names—Daniel Negreanu, Greg Mueller, and Luteng Li—bagged healthy stacks across multiple events. Kristen Foxen also added to her resume with another deep cash.

Duong Delivers a Comeback for the Ages in Event #33 to Win Canada’s Second Bracelet

Jason Duong outlasted 491 entries in Event #33: $1,500 Limit Hold’em to claim his first WSOP gold bracelet and $130,062. The final hurdle was Adam Tyburski, who battled Duong in a grueling two-and-a-half-hour heads-up match. At one point, Duong was down to just two big bets, but the Vancouver native never lost faith.

“I always felt like I could win,” he said afterward. “Once I got back from those two big bets, I just started getting more comfortable and confident.” His resilience paid off in spectacular fashion, making him the second Canadian to win a bracelet at the 2025 series so far.

Kristen Foxen Adds Another Cash in $3K Freezeout

Canada’s top female player, Kristen Foxen, added another cash to her impressive career line with a 72nd-place finish in Event #35: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout. The result earned her $7,050 and continued her consistent run in the 2025 series.

Luteng Li Bags Big in Monster Stack

Luteng Li put himself in a strong position in one of the WSOP’s biggest fields. He bagged 409,000 in Event #37: $1,500 Monster Stack, setting up a promising Day 2 run in the massive tournament known for its deep structure and huge prize pool.

Negreanu and Mueller Stack Chips in High Roller and H.O.R.S.E.

Daniel Negreanu was once again in the thick of things, bagging 490,000 chips in the prestigious $100,000 High Roller (Event #38). It’s yet another deep run for Kid Poker as he continues his quest for bracelet #7 falling one short already this summer.

Meanwhile, Greg Mueller quietly continued his consistent form by finishing Day 1 of Event #39: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. with 273,000 chips—good enough for a top 10 stack heading into Day 2. Mueller, a three-time bracelet winner, has been one of Canada’s most reliable performers in mixed games over the years.
