Michael Mizrachi: The Grinder Grinds Again
Most players spend their lives dreaming of a Main Event final table. Michael Mizrachi? He’s doing it twice — and 15 years apart. After already locking up his fourth Poker Players Championship earlier this summer, Mizrachi came out of “retirement,” showed up to Vegas cold, and ran it all the way to second in chips with 93,000,000.
“I don’t need preparation,” Mizrachi told reporters after bagging up. “It’s like riding a bike. I haven’t played a tournament in a year.”
And yet, here he is. The 7-time bracelet winner was nearly out the door early in Day 8 but rode a wave of huge double-ups — including two back-to-back flushes — all the way into Hall of Fame contention. “If it [induction] doesn’t happen, that just motivates me more. Don’t give it to me. I might do something crazy next year.”
Mizrachi famously finished 5th back in 2010. This time, he’s got position, chips, and a fan base roaring “Grinder!” every step of the way.
Leo Margets: Breaking the 30-Year Barrier
Poker history was made when Spain’s Leo Margets became the first woman to reach a Las Vegas Main Event final table in three decades. Already a bracelet winner and fan favorite since her 27th-place finish in 2009, Margets sealed her spot with a dramatic river club to bust Sergio Veloso — and the emotional moment wasn’t lost on her.
“It’s amazing. I’m living the dream that any poker player wants to live,” she said. “But let’s keep focus.”
With 53,400,000 chips, Margets sits comfortably in the middle of the pack and firmly in the history books.
John Wasnock: From Pendleton to the Pinnacle
Every Main Event needs its feel-good story, and John Wasnock is that guy in 2025. The 50-year-old from Seattle had less than $150K in live cashes before this summer, with his biggest result coming in a small-town Oregon casino.
Today? He leads the Main Event final table with 108,100,000.
“This was a bucket list thing,” Wasnock said. “I’ve had a pretty good run this year… I feel like it’s given me some good experience playing shorthanded.”
Wasnock went from 17th out of 17 at dinner break to bagging the chip lead just a few hours later — the very definition of a heater.
Kenny Hallaert: The Consummate Professional Returns
PokerStars Team Pro Kenny Hallaert has been here before. The Belgian tactician finished 6th in 2016 and now returns for another deep run, this time sitting in 4th place with 80,500,000.
“Making the final table again feels surreal,” he said. “You’re battling with 10,000 players. One in a thousand makes it. It’s so amazing.”
Quiet, deliberate, and deadly — don’t sleep on Hallaert making another serious push at the title.
Braxton Dunaway: From Oil Fields to Multi-Millionaire
Texas oil man Braxton Dunaway proved his 2023 Monster Stack bracelet wasn’t a one-time thing. With 91,900,000 chips and another $1M already locked up, Dunaway is primed to go even deeper — and he’s bringing a full rail with him.
“I think it’s going to be a wild final table,” he said. “Everyone is in for a good show.”
The part-time player has already won big-field events before. Now he’s just nine eliminations away from poker’s ultimate crown.
The Rest of the Table: Big Names and Bigger Dreams
- Luka Bojovic (51,000,000): Final tabled the WSOP Europe Main Event last year and is looking to go even deeper in Vegas.
- Adam Hendrix (48,000,000): Over $8M in earnings and a WSOP regular, but still hunting for that elusive first bracelet.
- Daehyung Lee (34,900,000): South Korea’s last hope in the field, sitting short but still very much in the mix.
- Jarod Minghini (23,600,000): The shortest stack, but with $1M already locked up, he’s freerolling the biggest moment of his poker life.

Each of the remaining nine is guaranteed a seven-figure payday, with the winner walking away with $10 million, the 2025 WSOP Main Event bracelet, and poker immortality. Play resumes Tuesday, July 15 at 1 p.m. local time with 66:41 left in Level 39 and blinds of 800,000/1,600,000.
Whatever happens next, one thing’s for sure — this year’s final table is going to be a show.
